No, it uses the rose up 
Nope. Roses - and a lot of other "display items" are meant to be profile decoration, nice gifts you can give and display as tokens of friendship or thank yous for great RPs, etc.
We added the quotes for people who don't want flowers on their profiles at all because it just isn't their style, they can still sort of get a "greeting card" type use out of it. But it is not at all the primary or even suggested use for them.
