Well, you basically have five options, and I will list alongside them the pros and cons.
1. Just keep the RP going regardless.
Pros: You spare their feelings, you do not kill the RP, you have a chance of getting used to it.
Con: You just signed up to more of the thing you have a problem with. Good luck.
2. Ghost them.
Pros: You spare yourself awkward justification OR further RP that is not to your taste.
Con: This person will never forgive you for your genuinely scummy behavior, but hey; it's not like you wanted to RP with them anyway.
3. Explain to them that the RP is not working out for you.
Pros: You get to spare yourself more of this RP and have explained you had a problem so you also spare yourself the con of option 2.
Con: You DID get into this RP so you come off as flighty and a quitter.
4. Die or fake your own death.
Pros: Good luck bitching at a dead person.
Con: You either have to leave the community entirely or eventually get called out on your lies.
5. As with option 3, but actually going into detail.
Pros: Gives them the choice to either go with a style you're more comfortable with, or not, which justifies you in ghosting should that be the case since you voiced your concerns.
Cons: You might have to put on your big person pants and handle a confrontation.
Obviously, none of those are perfect, but it's the way to go...
...generally.
The fact of the matter is that sometimes, whether it's because you're in a bad mood, the muse left you, you have white page syndrome, or your favorite RP partner finally replied, you just lose interest in an RP and try to push the responsibility on the other person to avoid guilt-tripping yourself... ...which is a sign you should, as an RPer, grow up.
