As y/c usually does, y/c is wandering the streets, or perhaps the forest, nearby y/c's house. But y/c could never have guessed who, or more like WHAT they would run into.
(if in the forest) Y/c hears some branches thud behind them. Then more branches fall, one nearly hitting y/c. Y/c looks up to see the weirdest thing ever. Some teenage boy, hopping from tree to tree, with what seems like little fear of falling, and a strangely shaped body. Y/c also noticed they had one green...arm?
(if in the streets) Y/c is minding their own business. Then somebody big runs into them. or at least, that's what y/c thinks. y/c falls over to the pure momentum and weight of the person. And when y/c turns to yell at the person, you notice they look very strange. y/c might gasp as they notice that the guy seemed to be a 6-foot bug man, with a carapace containing his wings, a strange, long green arm, and beautiful but strangely colored eyes, slightly hidden by a spiked forward and down mohawk.
I am looking for somebody who is semi-lit like me, has an interesting, preferably female character, and is patient with replies (I'm not always on and I can take a bit to type or think of what to type.)

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.

Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
