Dai walked in and saw Faye talking to her friend. He put one finger to his lips, letting her friend know not to say anything about him being around. He walked up behind Faye, he put a hand on her shoulder, his head not far from his hand. "I believe you dropped something and have my jacket, miss." He said with a small grin.

Faye jumped and brought a hand to her heart. "Gods! You almost gave me a heart attack." If she had been able to see, she would have been glaring at her friend. "Weren't you supposed to tell me?" She blushed when she realized what she had said. Now he'd think she was some crazy stalker. Great. She sighed and turned around, even though she couldn't see him. "Your jacket is in my backpack, but... what did I drop?"

Dai grinned. "Guess no one told you that I like to mess with people. Its just fun watch how people react." He raised an eyebrow at her friend at what she said next then chuckled. "I put a finger to my lips so I could do that." He really didn't care what she thought of him, he was who he was and he wasn't going to act different for someone else. He pulled the piece of paper out of his pocket. "It a dessert recipe list, I assume that you were going to practice making desserts." He said, handing her the slip of paper.

Faye laughed a little. "Well, you did scare me. Messing with the girl who can't see. That's just mean." She said just joking. She took the paper and shoved it in one of her pockets. "Thanks, and..." She put her backpack on the floor and knelt to take out his jacket. "Here it is. I forgot to return it, sorry for that."

Dai shrugged. "I mess with everyone, just because one thing is wrong, doesn't mean you should be treated differently from the rest of the human race." He tried not to grin at the fact that it was funny how he wasn't human and she was only three quarters human. He took his jacket, taking off his backpack and putting on his jacket, then his backpack again. "Don't worry about it."

"I guess so. I appreciate it, actually; not to be treated differently." Faye said smiling and then the bell rang. "English, isn't it? I look forward to hearing you read."

Her friend touched her shoulder and told her she had to go because there had been an emergency at home and asked Dai if he could watch Faye didn't get herself in troubles for the rest of the day.

Dai rolled his eyes. "It isn't as easy as it sounds." He said, remembering the first time he did that and how nervous then. He never liked having a lot of attention.

He nodded. "Sure thing, don't worry about it." He said.

Faye's friend nodded and took off, holding her celphone to her ear. Faye just heard her footsteps getting farther. "She thinks I'm a baby. Let's go or we'll be late."

A couple of girls around were giggling and talking in low voices, throwing sideglances at Dai. Homecoming was getting closer and some had the hope they'd be invited by him.

Dai nodded. "Alright. I don't think the teacher would care much anyways, he is cool with me." It was no lie that Dai did come to class late, but only with teachers who liked him. He started to walking towards where their English room.

He paid no attention to the girls. If they weren't brave enough to at least talk to him, they weren't worth the trouble of asking to homecoming. It was clear that they weren't smart enough to notice that every year since freshmen year that he never went to any of the dances, but he had a feeling this year would be different.

Faye raised an eyerbow but didn't comment on that. How was it that some people could get away with that? It was beyond her comprehension, but it did bring a smile to her face. Maybe she just had to be smarter. She walked next to him, staying close, focusing on not bumping into anybody, but it always happened. As for the dances, she always went with her friend, Dana, and her boyfriend. It was awkward, but she had fun.

"How about you hold on to my arm if you are so scared to bump into people around here?" He asked. He knew it would look like they were together, but she clearly didn't want to bump into people and already stood close to him, what did matter at this point?

Usually on the days of the dances, he would be hanging out with his group of friends watching some old movies just to make fun of them. It was always fun and never was awkward.

"Okay." Faye did just that and walked with her hand resting on his arm. She didn't know if it made him feel uncofortable but it did help her a lot. Of course, that earned her some glares from a few girls. But it wasn't like it mattered because she couldn't see them.

When they reached the classroom, it was late, but like Dai had said, the teacher didn't say anything about it and let them in. All the school knew about her unusual condition but a faked document from a fake doctor was enough to convince them there was nothing extremely weird about that.

Dai noticed the girls were glaring at Faye, which really annoyed him; why, he didn't know. He just didn't like the fact that some girls in the school were so stuck up to glare at someone for something they couldn't do and without knowing the girl either. He really hated immature high school girls.

Faye just continued walking by his side, unware of everything. Once in the classroom, she reluctantly let go of Dai's arm and took a seat at her usual desk. School was kinda complicated, but she managed to get good grades. Her books were normal ones. During the day, she listened to what was said and the page number indicated and then at night she studied to understand better.

Dai took the seat next to her, knowing the person who sits here won't care. His friends gave him confused looks, wondering why he wasn't sitting with them today. He had good grades with 3.6 GPA, thanks to his math grade. His teacher called him a genius in math but he really didn't think so, he was just doing simple equations and problems.

Faye could feel the sun rays coming through the windows, not knowing he had taken the seat next to her. She'd never really seen the sun and wondered what it'd be like to, not in movies but in real life. Her face turned slightly towards the light, thinking. The teacher generally didn't care because, according to him, if she could hear him, it was enough.

The teacher just started with his usual lecture of the day. Dai really didn't pay attention, but he sure looked like it. The teacher called on him, telling him to read off one of the poems in their literature book. He nodded and stood up, the book in his hands.
"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.

And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

Faye smiled when he spoke, recognizing his voice. She knew that sonet. It was beautiful.

As soon as Dai finished, a guy behind her poked her with his pencil. "Hey Faye, are you going to Homeco-"

The teacher interrupted him with a sharp look. "Ummm... Talk to you later." He said and leaned back on his seat again.

The teacher thanked Dai as he sat down in his chair. He noticed that the guy in front her was about to ask something but of course the teacher stopped him. Dai only hoped some other guy didn't take Faye to homecoming before he could have a chance.

The poor guy was counting the seconds left for class to be over. To make Faye participate, the teacher asked her some questions about the poem, of which she answered two out of three without hesitating.

After the questions, she grabbed her pencil and scribbled down on her notebook the pages of the book. Writting numbers was easy, at least.

Faye didn't have the slightest idea of who was the guy thad meant to ask her to Homecoming. It made her a little reluctant to accept.
