Small edit: If you prefer to not post to my thread for any particular reason, feel free to PM me. I don't wish for anyone to be uncomfortable. However: Please be advised I have my settings set to 18+ and friends to PM me. If you don't fall into this, but still wish to give your opinion, please let me know here in the thread so I may fix things. Thank you.

Hello all, Winter here.

Been a while since I posted in general. Short version: My rl just -insert Jeff Dunham voice- suuuuuckkkksssss -end Jeff Dunham voice- right now, and is very stressful. So much so that I had to go hiatus on here from rp in general.

Small note: I am not comfortable going into detail of my rl, so please do not ask me about it. Plus I am not posting this to discuss my rl, I only wanted to give an idea what's up before getting to the rest of my post. Just know what I stated above, and that I'm trying to just chug along. Thanks.

The normal ways that I use to escape from the real world aren't working well anymore. So...I would like to try and slowly get back into rp. I cannot guarantee how well this will work for me, so I cannot promise that I will be 100% back into rp. Maybe 50% or a little less.

So. First question
How would one like me, somewhat bounce back into the swing of things concerning rp? Yes, I am aware that not every suggestion will work for me, but I'll take what I can get.

Mind you...I have trouble in general coming up with plot ideas and such, but I struggle more so right now. I don't want to come off as a slacker who doesn't even try, I just am probably going to be clueless more so than usual. So before I even attempt to jump back into the rp game, I would like to see if there is something I can do to help me get into the swing of things to the best of my ability.

Second question
Is an incomplete OC okay to put up, or would it be better to wait until it is 100% finished?

Yes. I am aware that the choice is up to me. However. Past experiences with different people, have me set in certain ways. Such as, in short/my own words: Don't bother with an OC until it is 100% complete, for no one will want to rp with that OC.

Example: On a different rp site, I rped two character's. One was 100% complete, the other was 50% complete. The 50% had basic info, but no back story. People kept picking the OC that was 100% done over the other. And even when I had the 50% OC done at 100%, no one took interest in them.

I have an OC I have that is probably...maybe 55-60% done? I got a majority of his basic info down, and I got a start on his backstory. However. I don't have his backstory finished, to explain certain things about my OC. Like what got him into certain professions that he does. I got a start but haven't been able to finish him. Yet I would really like to give him a shot on here, though I hesitate due to his not being 100% finished.

Another hesitation of mine, with this particular OC, is the fact it's an anthro character. I am aware of the fact that furies in general, have mostly a bad rep of wanting nothing but sex. I do not require, nor insist on sexual rp in any of my rp's, be it I am rping an anthro or not.

Now. If my OC is not what you are looking for, or if you are just not comfortable rping with an anthro, then those reasons are of course perfectly fine and understandable. The last anthro I had up didn't do so well in general, so it's another reason I hesitate to put him up.

I appreciate anyone who takes time to read this, as well as possibly respond to this. Again. I cannot promise anything on my end, but I would like to give things a try again.

Thanks all.

-Winter.

Question 1: Honestly, I'm just coming back around to RP myself. I've found that diving in head-first is the best option. Putting feelers out there, exploring your options, interacting with other roleplayers... It's kind of like a game. Sure, I'm rusty. But you know what? I've presented this to potential partners and most people have been accepting and understanding.

Question 2: Most of my OCs are very vague.

Actually, correction...

ALL of my OCs are left vague.

I, too, struggle with plot ideas, so I tend to create a general idea of a character and give them basics - age, height, appearance - but I leave it open so that I can mold him or her into most settings. Honestly, I've not had any issues coming across roleplay. I've interacted with so many people with great ideas on how to help flush out my characters through story. It's interesting to see how my initial idea blossoms in different situations.

SO. Short answer: It's totally okay to have a WIP OC.

I was actually kind of worried about doing that. But hearing that you so far have had decent turn outs, let's me know I can give it a shot. I'm usually not certain on things like this, so it's a reason I asked.

Ah-hah! Thank you for that! I am slowly trying to break out of some of the habits I have. I have so many OC's that I'd like to put up on here to give them a try, but I don't with the fact they aren't 100% finished. Thank you for the input on both parts.

Random off the topic question for you: I've never heard of a PenguinColada before. What flavor is that? Lol! Sorry, just wanted to ask that for fun. I like your writer name.
1. I would just say restart slowly a few at a time.

2. I do look for a backstory, but I don't think the backstory has to be complete to RP. Not at all.

Good luck! :)

Thanks! I have been doing good so far. And I am taking my time. It's good to work on getting back into things.

I'd say it's probably very fishy.
