Though the sky was clear that night, everyone could hear the booming thunder. Some could see the crack of a massive bolt of lightning clash against the distant heart of the forests of Isvidr. In the wake of the storm, many agree that something has changed; yet whether it was some form of magic, or perhaps an omen from the gods is yet to be determined. A few locals to the region claim to have heard a voice before the lightning; a man, screaming something unintelligible.
So... what happened? Most laymen spoke of it among themselves before quickly returning to their daily routine, but some yet worry that something is coming to the peaceful wilder-lands. And they may be right.
The forest, once dormant, has awoken.

This is an adjustable-length, norse-inspired RP I cooked up in the last couple of hours. It is preferable to write characters more fitting to the setting but just about any fantasy characters will do. The setting is the forest of Isvidr, a cold pine forest dotted with small towns and villages, though none of them possess much martial power. Its summer yet, but in these territories the hottest months are slim and the days short.

Magic may be accepted as truth but is not common. It might be harnessed only by specific beings. Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones.
