Cora kept looking the map over, then sat up again, moving over to him and pointing at all the islands below Asia, "Why are these all scattered around? Like... they aren't connected to anything, why is that?"
He shrugged. "That's just the way they formed."
She blinks and 'hmphs' "Well that's not very explanatory..." She lifts her head up and looks around, then lowers to look back at the map, "Is there anything that talks about these places, like a book or somethin'?"
"Oh yeah, there're books out there- you'd have to go to a library or something to find them, but there're lots of books on these places."
Cora gets a big smile and nods rapidly, "Know where I'm goin' tomorrow." She nods and hands him the map back, albeit with a bit of reluctance.
"You can keep it- you seem to get a lot more pleasure out of it than I ever did," he told her, holding his hand up. "I've got my road map in the glovebox, that's the only map I really need at the moment."
She glomp-hugs him instantly, "Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!" She nudges into him, then cleanly folds the map and sets it in her lap.
He laughed at this sudden burst of affection, patting her as he grinned down at her. "You're the first person I've seen go bonkers over a map of the world. Have fun with that."
She nods rapidly, then lets him go, "Never heard of anything other than where we are and north... The fact that there's ALL these places out there?" She looks up at the sky, "There's gotta be ONE place where everything's normal, right?" She nods, "I wanna find it..."
"That's what I was looking for, a place here in the U.S. that was normal... Somehow I don't think it exists. Either that or they're just well hidden. We lost contact with all the other countries, so I have no idea what the conditions are like over there. I'll bet places like Russia aren't doing to badly, though- its freezing over there in the winter, considering they're so far north."
She blinks and nods a bit, then pauses for a few moments before leaning around and putting her map in her bag, albeit awkwardly, then faces her body forward and looks up again, going to rub at her eyes for a bit, "Ant, you sure... you sure you ain't gonna sleep?"
"Yeah. I'm not tired. You can sleep if you want," he told her, watching the moon.
She frowns and shakes her head, going to hold around him and nuzzle into him, but watch the sky with him, "I said I'd stay up as long as you, so I'm gonna do it..."
"Whatever." He blinked up at the night sky, studying it like it held all the answers to his questions.
She frowned a bit, then looked down, still hugging him though, nudging into him every so often.
He draped an arm around her shoulders, sighing as he watched a comet zip across the sky and disappear as quickly as it had come. "It really I fascinating, isn't it?"
Cora makes a 'hm?' noise as she looked up to him, "The sky?" She looks up past him, and after several moments she nods. "I suppose... guess I don't know enough to appreciate it."
"You don't need to know a lot to appreciate something," he murmured quietly, his gaze fixed on a single blinking star.
She shrugs, "Agree to disagree I guess." she paused and tried to keep her mouth closed as she began to let out a large yawn.
He smiled at her a moment, watching her out of the corner of his eye before closing them, taking a deep breath.
