The girl blinks at him, then down at the grenade, huffs, then nods, "Fine... I don't like it, but fine..."
"Thank you," he said, relieved to have finally won something against her. "Use it well, although hopefully you'll still have it when we meet up again. Stay safe, will ya?"
"Take care of yourself," Nick murmured, looking up from the asphalt. "Take care of that katana, too. It's too fine of a weapon to lose."

Cora nods at Ant, then smirks over at Nick, "I doooo expect a hug before I go." She grins at him.
"A hug? You sure? I was thinkin' somethin' more along the lines of a handshake," Nick protested, his brows furrowing slightly as Anthony grinned over her shoulder.
She snickers, "Come on... Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease?" She pouts at him with big puppy eyes.
"Just hug her, Nick. It'll be a lot less painful than just arguing with her."
Nick sighed in defeat, shrugging the sheath off his shoulders. "Let's just get it over with..."

Cora gets an excited smile and gets up in front of him, opening her arms for him, giggling a bit.
He frowned, reluctantly uncrossing his arms and letting her hug him. His shoulder blades were easily felt under his shirt along with most of the other bones in his back, he was so skinny; despite this he still had a good layer of toned muscle from many years of running and fighting with a katana.
Cora hugs him tight for a few moments before backing off, "Next time I see ya, I'll have a nice amount of food for ya, alright?" She nods at him with an innocent smile.
"That'd be nice," he agreed with a slight smile, nodding his head farewell.
"We'll be here when you get back," Anthony told her, his eyes betraying his miserableness. "You better get back. Soon, too."

She snickers, "Well don't stay in one place for too long, then the trip'll be longer and longer each time." She nods and looks around, then grips at her bag straps with one hand, using the one still holding her grenade to wave at Anthony a bit as she went to begin walking.
Poor, sweet Anthony waved back, his hand shaking slightly, watching her go with the eyes of a puppy dog being abandoned by its owner. Nick unsheathed his katana and twirled it in an absentminded salute, the blade singing slightly in the morning air.
Cora looked back at one point and waved again with a sad smile, then yelled, "No nuking anything, okay?!" with a snicker, then spun so she walked backwards until they couldn't see each other.
"I'll try," Anthony called back with a laugh. "No promises."
"I'll watch him," Nick assured her, patting Anthony's shoulder briefly before going to check the road out.
Anthony, however, sat on the roof of the Humvee and watched Coraline until she was out of sight, and kept staring down the road even when he didn't see her anymore. He held his shaking hand to his chest to quiet it down, rubbing his dog tags absentmindedly.

Coraline eventually huffed, spun around, wiping at her face, "You get too attached..." she mumbles to herself.
"This is a mistake," he mumbled to himself, staring absently down the road, "I shouldn't have let her go..."
"She'll be back, big guy, she said so," Nick reassured him, sheathing his katana as he came walking back to the Humvee. "We need to get you some more ammo, though."
"It can wait."
"What?"
"I'm not moving from this spot until we run out of food."
"... Whatever you say," Nick said with a shrug. "You know what you remind me of? A father whose little girl just went off to college or somethin'."
Anthony sighed, scratching the back of his head. "That's not entirely accurate, Nick, but it's close enough."

(( awww, okay that hurt my heart x) ))
Cora searches around the building curiously until she finds a room that has stacks and stacks of books in it, then smiles, going to go through them.

(Daww xD poor little Anthony)
Nick looked up at Anthony, then climbed up on the hood to keep him company, watching him stare down the road with a blank look in his eyes. He finally sighed and stared down the road as well, the sunlight reflecting off the asphalt an making the road look like it was on fire.
"She'll be back."

(( I'm running out of emote ideas, I'm so sorry xD ))
After about an hour or two, a grenade rolls over to the humvee, and no that isn't Coraline going to hide behind a wrecked car, not her at all... though the katana that can be seen on her back once she starts running off tells otherwise.

Anthony let out a startled yell when the grenade rolled over (causing Nick to rather unceremoniously fall off the hood) and he snatched it up, ready to chuck it in the air-
Then he realized that the pin wasn't pulled out. The grenade wasn't activated.
"YOU IDIOT!" Nick yelled as he stood up, pretending like he hadn't been frightened for a moment at all. Anthony ignored him, glancing around for who he knew was there. "Cora?"
