Anthony frowned ever so slightly as Cora flinched, wondering what he had done wrong. Did he do something wrong? He wasn't sure. Maybe he'd ask later.
Until then he looked back over at Geist, sizing him up with one quick look. "Yeah, I'd like to think so," he agreed with a nod and a dose of his usual Goodeall charm.

Geist blinked a bit before smiling slightly, nodding at him, "You uh... You wanna check on her or should I? Uh... best if I leave, but if you don't... wanna talk to her, I will."
"What is it with you people and leaving?" He shook his head and looked over at Cora, pausing uncertainly. "I dunno... Did I do something wrong? If I did then I should go talk with her..."
In the meantime Nick had been slicing a zombie's face like a moldy salami when his instincts started going haywire. Something bad was about to go down- what, he didn't know, but he felt it.
Hmm...

Geist shrugs a bit, "Well, I came to make sure she wasn't hanging out with mercs or something and uh... to be honest you don't look like mercs." He nods, "But uh... since the sun's rising that means either Remy or Arthur are up, so I should probably go to them before they come and start trying to kill people for Cora..."
"I don't kill people for the yuks. I don't know about Nick but he doesn't seem malicious. Just... Antisocial, that's all. Takes some getting used to." He sighed, thinking about it a moment. "You guys set up around here or something?"
Nick had climbed on top of another vehicle and taken a look down the highway. Almost immediately he started cussing and he hopped back down, sheathing his sword as he sprinted back to the little group.
"Guys, we got a problem- horde comin' this way, too many to take on. I suggest we get outta Dodge, like, now."

Geist blinks and huffs, "I'll go back, you take Cora wherever you're gonna go and I'll explain everything to the other guys...!" He nods as he goes to sprint back from where he came, "JUST DON'T STEAL HER I HAPPEN TO LIKE MY SISTER!" he yells from farther off, hopping down at one point onto some rubble.
Coraline from the inside of the humvee, rolls down a window, "Hoard bad..." She nods a bit, rubbing at her head, "So yeah, quick would be good?"

"I'll look after her," Anthony promised as he threw his rifle in the trunk and got into the Humvee. "We got everything- Nick, get in here!"
The scrawny guy climbed into the passenger's seat, mentally calculating how many zombies there had been. "Yeah, way too many to take on without sufficient firepower. Step on it."
"Quick? This thing has a huge engine, in case you haven't noticed- it lives for quick," Anthony told her with a grin, the engine roaring to life as he wheeled it around and sped off the way they had come.

Cora sighs a bit and moves so she was sitting on her shins on the middle seat, arms over the shoulder of the seat's back, her chin resting on her arms so she could watch through the back window. "Gestimate of how many exactly?"
"Fifty at the very least. They do seem to enjoy traveling in packs," Nick replied, looking in the rearview mirror. "Too many, that's for damn sure."
She smirks a bit and lets out a small 'heh' to herself, then shakes her head, running a hand through her hair, "Jamie was reckless I guess..." she mumbles.
"What?" Anthony looked in the rearview mirror at her a moment before glancing back at the road.
She shakes her head, waving a dismissive hand, "Mumbling to myself, ignore me." She sounds a bit happier... more adventure, always fun! And she's got more time to tease Nick once she feels less guilty, and more Anthony cuddles! All around good...
She nods to herself, "Yeah... good..." she thinks.

Anthony shrugged, turning his attention back to the road. Nick leaned back slightly in his seat, taking the katana off his back so he could get a little more comfortable and not have his spine and shoulder blades be pressured all the time.
Not entirely sure what he was doing, he started to hum again in a low voice, his eyes closed and hidden behind a hand.

Cora looked back over her shoulder a bit at him, smiling almost sadly, going to lay down in the seat finally, but it only took a few moments for that to change, going to sit behind Anthony and rest her chin on the shoulder of his seat, watching the road with him.
He felt her presence behind him and the breath on his neck, hardly there but ever so gently tickling the hairs as the base of his neck. He smiled slightly and glanced over at Nick who still seemed rather unaware of his surroundings for once.
Cora stayed there for a bit before going to loosely wrap her arms around his neck, her hands holding her elbows near his shoulders. She doesn't say anything, not wanting to pull Nick from his humming and seemingly relaxed state.
Indeed, this would probably be about as relaxed as Nick would ever get. He was normally so high-strung and paranoid, but now he seemed at ease. A rare feeling for him and it certainly wouldn't last long.
Anthony sighed silently, nuzzling into her touch slightly when she wrapped her arms around his neck. His pulse was easily felt under the skin in his throat- gentle, steady, not too fast or too slow. Just the right speed to keep him going.

Cora smiled a bit at Anthony's movements, going to nuzzle forward at him until she went to rest her face into the crook of her neck, holding just a wee bit tighter. She let out a very quiet giggle, content to just snuggle into him as best she could for now.
Anthony smiled slightly, finally coasting to a stop. "Think this is far enough?"
Nick opened his eyes, his voice and the tune fading away in his throat. "For now, yeah." He got out again, slinging the katana sheath over his back and stalking down the road towards the woods like a lithe and silent shadow.

Coraline looked over as Nick got out, frowning a bit, but then shaking her head, nudging into Ant with a, "So hi." and a snicker.
