I’ve been binging Downton Abbey recently and it’s given me a hankering for a period romance rp! I’ll be using my (one & only) character, Margaret Astley. She’s the youngest child and only daughter of her father, Lord John Astley. I’ve got two ideas for storylines, I’m also open to doing a different one if none interest you. The time period can also be changed upon request! These both take place in 1916.
1st idea: An arranged marriage. Margaret is her father’s most precious treasure as she bares most of the same features as her late mother’s features. He knew she wouldn’t be able to inherit his estate or his fortune, so he made sure she wouldn’t have to live a middle class or poor life. Y/C’s family offered them to become Margaret’s future husband as a way to start a business partnership with the Astleys. Margaret wasn’t aware of this until she turned 18 and was forced to attend a dinner where she met Y/C for the first time. Since then, they’ve been seeing each other more often and aren’t getting along. Will things change over time or will they stay the same?
2nd idea: Y/C has been hired to work at the Astley’s estate and Margaret instantly takes a liking to them. Worried they’ll lose their job, Y/C is constantly flustered by Margaret’s teasing and flirting. Yet, no one has seemed to notice the two. They begin seeing each other secretly at night, falling deeply in love. However, Margaret is already betrothed to someone else. Someone she despises and is at least 25 years older than she is. As their wedding grows closer, tension rises between Y/C and Margaret.
