"True... but I have Yuki now, so I try not to go too far."
Raylmar chuckled. "Of I've seen birds with massive talons before. Have you ever tried to hunt them down by an bow and arrow?"
"And that, my friend, is where we are different," he said with a smile. "You have a higher priority in Yuki. I don't have a kid, so I can just run around like the crazy bachelor I am and do my own thing. Personally I think you got off better but I digress."
"I did all that running around... a little too much... it took having Yuki to get me to settle down."
Keina held up her staff, "This is the only weapon I use." It was true, Keina didn't use bow and arrows for hunting. She used her flying skills and her staff.
Ray lame raised an eyebrow. "I must say, that's quite impressive."
"I told you I thought I was acceptable. I wear feathers from my own kills because I do not have a mate."
Raylmar nodded. "What was the biggest animal you've killed?"
"A gryphon... I wouldn't normally hunt such a wonderful animal but... this one was rabbid and storming through a village."
Raylmar nodded. "Those creatures are quite beautiful. Lets see, this biggest thing I killed would be a dragon since it was trying to kill me, and wouldn't stop trying to attack me unless, well, it killed me."
Keina blinked, "We have eastern dragons up the mountain. They are beautiful... I never approach them and they never approach me... we have a mutual understanding."
"I wish we had that. It could certainly make my life easier." He said.
"Maybe it's a demon to beast thing... I think they may have respect for hawkling... "
"What are the demons like around here?" Raylmar asked her.
"Well, I am a demon... there are also vampires around sometimes... there are many hybrids as well... once night settles this forest becomes even more dangerous."
"Everything in moderation. That's why I stop every now and then and take a breather. Step back, look around, make sure I'm where I want to be. If I'm not then I just keep going." He shrugged. "It's an interesting life."
"I used to hate travelling... but it's what I had to do to survive... I was a young kid out on my own with no clue on how to survive by myself. Lucky for me, I melted the Queen's heart." He snickered.
"Ah, these are certainly new topics for me." Raylmar said slowly as he glanced around.
"It's not safe to be out here at night... in fact... we should probably stop to make camp soon."
"Well if you say it then it might be a good idea. Go tell the others."
