Lark led the way and Keina stayed at the back of the line. Eventually she wandered over to Raylmar and walked next to him quietly. She didn't have all that much to say because she was still fuming mad. Even as an hour passed, she didn't speak.
"Why did you get mad so easily?" Dimeria asked her.
"I have a bad temper," she replied simply. Keina disliked people and she especially hated it when they touched her in a violent manner.
"Have you ever tried to control your temper?" Dimeria asked her another question.
"Yes... but I can't..." Keina gazed at the ground as she walked. After a moment she scowled and lifted her head, having always been told to keep her chin up.
"Why not?" Dimeria said, looking at her thoughtfully.
Nick caught up to Lark, who currently had the map; he had never taken it back from him when he gave it to him to check out the route. "Where do you think we are right now? 'Cause there's a particularly rough spot I noticed at one point on the map."
"I don't know... I just can't control myself. It is worse around humans... I don't trust humans at all. It seems all most of them want to do is destroy stuff."
Lark handed Nick the map, "What kind of rough spot?"
"Well I just think you haven't seen all of the plentiful good people that are out there." Dimeria said confidently.
"Yeah... maybe you are right... I have run across so many good people... but twice as many bad."
"I think that's where your problem is. Your so sued to seeing nothing but bad, terrible people that all they think about is riches and think that the entire world revolves around them, that you forgot what the really good people are like."
Keina nodded, "Most people look at my feathers and think of money. They think I don't have feelings because I am a demon... they don't even take the chance to get to know me."
"Well I'm sorry to say but there are going to be greedy human out there. A lot of them. Once when they know how valuable your feather can be, they'll try everything to get them."
"I know... thats why im so violent and rude. It tends to make people turn around and walk away."
"Oh, just a rocky area that may or may not have some cliffs in it. It also may or may not be controlled by orcs... Nothing to worry about, I don't think." He shrugged indifferently, watching Lark out of the corner of his eyes.
"Well if you want people to accept you for just who you are, then you need to work on that attitude."
Lark's eyes widened, "Are you serious?!" Lark had never seen an Orc before, and he really didn't want to.
Keina sighed, "Yeah, I guess your right... but where do I even start?"
"With the next new person you meet." Dimeria said simply.
