The horse was clearly an arabiran. It had a dish-shaped face and when it ran it held it's tail up like a flad and carried it's neck in an arch. The animal snorted and ran a few cautious laps around Nick before slowly coming closer and reaching out it's nose to sniff him.
Isamu watched in amazement. He had never seen anyone else at the castle besides himself be able to do this. Most of the stable hands usually called on Isamu to capture an escapee.

"There you go, it's okay- I'm not gonna hurt you," he told the horse gently, slowly extending a hand for it to sniff. "Just settle down and don't kill anyone, alright? Thank you."
He looked over his shoulder at Isamu. "Told you I was better with animals."

The horse leaned in closer and sniffed his hand, then gently pushed his nose against it, wanting to be petted.
Isamu smirked, "Wow, you don't see this kind of thing all too often. You certainly do have a way with animals that is difficult to find in most people." He looked over at his brother, "What are you doing with this horse? I hope you weren't trying to ride it before knowing whether it has been trained or not."

Lark walked over to the two of them. "I wasn't trying to ride him, Isamu. He was brought in to the stables today and one of the stable hands released him into the pasture. The horse jumped the fence and has been running around the castle grounds for at least a half an hour now."
His gaze then turned to Nick, "And who may you be?"

He grinned and rubbed the horse's nose. "I'm actually surprised it was that easy- I was expecting to be at it longer than that. You're an obedient horse." He patted the Arabian on the neck and turned to see what Isamu was doing.
"The name's Nicky," he replied simply in answer to Lark's question. "Nicky Lee."
"The name's Nicky," he replied simply in answer to Lark's question. "Nicky Lee."
"Well, I don't know why your here... but welcome!" Lark said with a smile. "Your help is much appreciated... oh, and the horse's name is Renegade." Lark walked over to the horse and moved to pet it on the nose. Renegade had other ideas.
With a whinnie of anger the he reared up and galloped off towards the other end of he courtyard, he turned at the wall and trotted over to Nick, then stood beside him with a glare in his eyes and his ears back against his head.

Isamu busted out laughing, "He hates you!" He exclaimed as he pointed a finger at his brother. "Your not a horse person at all and he knows it. You may like them but they sure as hell don't like you!"
"Whoa, easy!" Nick told the horse, rubbing his head soothingly. "Easy... That's it... Just calm down..."
He seemed a bit oblivious to human interaction around him when he was talking to animals, and this was no exception. He focused on calming Renegade down rather than listening to Isamu and Lark quibble.

"Yeah, well at least I can take a bath without trying to fight off the maids. You know if you actually took a bath willingly once in a while you might actually like it for once. They are soothing and relaxing," Lark retorted.
Renegade licked Nick's hand and nickered softly.

Surprisingly, Isamu didn't have a comeback to Lark's last comment. He scowled at his brother, "Well, you wouldn't like baths either if you were me." The two of them were mostly play-teasing each other.
"Yeah, I don't want to know," he mumbled to the horse with a smirk, looking to see if he had any food to give.
Renegade sniffed Nick's pocket. He really did know how to ask for a treat when he wanted one. The horse actually had a rather gentle nature.
From over in the pastures came a loud whinnie. Behind one of the white fences stood a somewhat large and rotund horse. He was only a few inches taller than Renegade. The horse was completely black except for a white blaze that started in the middle of his forehead and ran down to his muzzle. He also had a white sock on one of his rear legs. The horse let out another whinnie and began swinging it's head up and down in recognition of his companion and master, Isamu.
Isamu looked over at the horse and laughed, "Thats Moo, hes my horse. Iv'e had him for as long as I have lived here. His previous owner was taking him to the knacker. But I bought him instead."

Lark chuckled, "Isamu, you feed that horse way too much. Im surprised he can even run at all." The Prince rolled his eyes and grinned.
"That's a pretty horse too," he commented, digging in his pocket. "But don't worry Renny, I still like you best. Lemme see if I have anything for ya..."
Renegade whinnied and stood in front of Nick. He tilted his head to the side slightly and waited to see if any food would come from the magical pocket of this new human. He always found it odd that humans had folds in their fur (clothes) where they could carry supplies and food. How come he didn't have anything like that? The horse was dissapointed.
Isamu left the three of them and dissapeared into the large barn. When he came back he had a dark green halter and a rope. He held them out to Nick, "He trusts you the most. Can you put these on him for me?"

"Yeah," he said, taking the reins and pulling a random bit of cheese from his pocket. "I have some cheese and that's it. I don't think you want cheese, do you, Renny? I don't think horses like cheese much. Dogs like cheese, I know that... Hmm. Anyways, hold still a minute, I'm gonna put these on ya." He held out the reins for the horse to sniff. It helped sometimes if they knew what it was so they wouldn't freak.
Renny sniffed it then let out a snort. He then pushed his nose against the halter, knowing what it was. He was very clever and well trained for sure, it just took the right kind of person to gain his trust. Suddenly, he lifted his head. His ears pricked up and he looked in the direction of one of the other sections of pasture. There was a herd of mares there, one of which, was an all white arabian.
"I think hes looking at Dessert Rose, shes the white mare," Isamu suggested.

"Pfft. Horse after my own heart," he said with a laugh, finishing putting the halter on. "You're ready to go, big boy."
Isamu smiled and headed to the barn. He found an empty stall and began spread hay and straw on the floor so that Renegade with have a comfortable place to sleep. "This will be Renegade's stall," he called back to Nick.
"Sounds good," he called back, patting the horse's nose.
