The wolf stretched, standing, and looking around, ruby eyes swiftly adjusting. The Alpha Male turned his head to look at the
other Alpha of the pack, and the loner alongside her. He sighed softly, slipping away, lifting his head towards the sky, eyes gleaming as he questioned the current circumstances.

He finished his food, walking over to Shadow and laying by him. He liked having a home here, knowing in the woods he wouldn't do all to well. He dosed off, dreaming about being able to hunt larger things one day.

shadow notices that Flynn had come and laid down next to him, raising his head he groomed Flynn cleaning him free of the mud and dirt that was all over his pelt. shadow then gently not to wake Flynn up, picked him up and put him closer to him so that shadow could keep Flynn warm while they both slept. he nuzzled Flynn and then covered Flynn in his warm fur..

Jinx saw the alpha male and his reaction to the newcomer. She pondered to herself about whether or not she should ask him, but she worked up the courage and approached him. "Do you approve of the alpha female bringing a loner into the pack? We already have pups and other mouths to feed." From the way Jinx looked at the newcomer, it was clear she thought they should have made an example of the loner. She kept her words respectful, always being deferential to the alphas. But she was worried about making it through the winter, especially when their territory was adjacent to that of a hostile pack.

"The deer will move further and further south, the birds have migrated, many of the animals are burrowed down deep beneath the frozen ground. We might not all make it," she looked toward her pups, knowing that the youngest were the most susceptible to the cold and hunger.

Victory yawned widely, glancing around once more before resting her head on her paws. The hunt had tired her out and the only thing she walked to do was sleep. She tried to keep watch anyways, her eyes slowly fluttering closed slowly as she looked around camp sleepily. After a minute she was dead sleep, shifting to her side in the dirt.

He ate some of his deer, putting leftovers away for later and going to find something to do. He wanted to see what all was close to the dens so he knew exactly where to stay away from to not get his neck ripped off. "Let's see here....."

Axel looked at the newcomer, frowning and pondering this over. "The pup may stay." He growled, walking over to it. "But only under one condition. They will eat with the pups, but only after every other senior member and pup has eaten their fill. It will be a rough winter, I can agree with that." He turned back towards Jinx. "And if it causes too much trouble, it will be forced to leave. But I am not turning away a pup before the colder times."

Taz gently rose her head up as she saw the male alpha standing there with a pondering face. she heard what the male alpha said and nodded to show that she had understood. she then rested her head back into sky

Jinx felt partially mollified. She would have driven the pup off, or worse. Her head and tail were low, in a sign of her mixed surliness and subservience. "Yes, alpha," she told him. At least her pups would eat first. If they didn't make it, she didn't know if she could go on. Jinx settled down near her pups, licking them over the head and nuzzling them. Minx and Linx were happy for the attention, curling up against her for warmth. The three of them eyed the newcomer once in a while, but said nothing.

It wouldn't be long before she'd have to head out to hunt once more. Her pups asked her in quiet, tentative tones, "Can we play with the new pup, when we're rested?" Jinx paused before answering. "Yes, they are a part of the pack now. You can play with them while I hunt later on. It is good for you to play, it teaches you more than you know." When they wrestled, they were in truth learning to hold their own as adults.

Jinx disengaged herself from her pups, trotting off so she could hunt. Her two pups didn't wait long after her departure before frolicking over to the strange pup. They wanted to sniff and play. Their tails wagged back and forth, eyes bright, ears turned forward.

Taz raised her head yawning from the peaceful nap, gently stretching she saw two other pups gazing at her. Shrinking her head back a little, whining while she saw them come closer looking as if they wanted to play. " h...hi?" she said shyly.

blend saw victory laying down at the entrance of the den. he trotted up to her and laid close to her " hay, are you not cold out here, the storms starting" he looked at victory then at the sky where there where snow clouds getting darker by the minute. blend after some time wanted to tell her somethink " victory i have something to tell you,..i ..lov." he hesitated then replied " never-mind" he nuzzled her

She gently gets on her paws and she walks over to Jinx, then where the male alpha was with her. She looks at them as she walks on her four paws, “How is everyone doing?” she asked them both as she grooms herself clean and she licked her muzzle a bit as her blue fur moved in the breeze.

Axel stretched, yawning wide and showing a maw full of sharp, shining teeth, tail flicking idly back and forth as he looked around, eyes gleaming. He turned and headed out, intending to scout around the area.

Jinx forced herself to offer a wolf’s grin to the alpha. She was disconcerted, but she told herself to view it as if she was the leader. A new member of the pack would help with their numbers in the long run, she told herself. Jinx decided to see just how useful the loner was, if they could earn their keep.

“Everyone is fine. No one is going hungry, everyone is warm. I should head out to go and look for what we can eat tomorrow. Many of the birds are gone but there will be some small animals that can be found, deep in their burrows. The pups need to learn to hunt, I am thinking of taking them with me sometime soon. Perhaps you and your loner pup could come, too.” She wagged her tail, trying to make up for her behavior from before.

Shadow gets up and looks outside to see a few snowflakes fall. Looking around he speaks to them all " we are going to going hunting again before this storm gets worst and we all starve this winter" he says and doesn't wait for them as he trots out of the den towards the forest.

He ran along side shadow, smiling some. “I wanna help, it would be amazing to help” he sprinted forwards some to keep up, excited to help out.

he sees Flynn keeping up with him " Flynn, you know your too young still but you can watch" he sighs while slowing down for the pup.

"That's good to hear. But yes, it would be most wise to start hunting more than normal, so that we can have stock for the cold months, so that we can know that we'll always have enough."

Jinx did not respond to that at first, her ears drooped and she averted her gaze. "I can do my best, but our numbers are low since . . . " she paused, "since the battle. It's difficult to gather food with so little of us. As the pups grow stronger, things will get easier. I should go and start looking for our next meal."

It always came down to food. If they could just get through these next few months. She decided to go out on a final patrol to see how herds of their prey were moving before reporting back so they could better plan a hunt. The she wolf would finish talking to the alphas before she left.

Jinx checked on her pups, nuzzling and licking them before going on her way. The hunter was sly enough to go unseen and unheard by many creatures in the forest. She knew of elk, moose and other herd animals in the area. They lived among the lakes and fields that bordered their forest.

Link and Minx looked at each other and back at the new pup. Their mother had raised them to be suspicious of strangers, and to treat them harshly. But they sent a glance toward their mother and the alphas, and returned the greeting in kind. The two pups were slow to warm up, walking forward with their ears down, nostrils flaring as they smelled the new member of their pack.

"Yeah, let's play!" Minx pounced forward. "I'm Minx, and this is Linx!" Linx laughed and pushed Minx before dashing off. "Can't catch me!" she said, running along. She bounced once in a while to show off how much energy she had, her tail wagging as she stopped and made a play bow towards them.

Jinx was distracted as she roamed through the woods, sniffing here and there, looking for tracks. She worried for her pups, for the rest of the pack. The hunter lost herself in the past for a moment, thinking of the day the alphas and their respective packs had fought. So many had died that day, and it had paved the way for starvation. After several minutes she shook herself out of it. She wasn't paying proper attention to hunt, getting bogged down in thoughts like that. Her ears perked, nose to the ground, when she came upon some elk tracks. Elk were bigger than deer, and difficult prey. It wouldn't hurt to spy on the herd and look for any that might be young or sick.
