Hello everyone,

I could not resist the attraction of the colorful macarons and so I offer you another epic raffle, this time for the Fall Equinox tomorrow.

Rules:

1. Only characters may enter.
2. Grand prize by RPR dice roll is a sundae! One year of epic-ness for your writer.
3. First 10 characters to post get a colorful macaron (random color, although I will try to send your choice if listed).
4. You have 24 hours (from 8pm EST today until 8pm EST tomorrow).
5. In character, post one paragraph about something you are grateful for. Remember, this is for your character, not the writer. It can be hilarious, serious, endearing, outrageous, anything which makes sense for your character as they are.

“I have just returned to Berlin from the Russian front. I was never so thankful for getting wounded in battle than on the morning ofJanuary 11th 1943. On that frozen winter day, our regiment was ordered by the Furher to breakthrough to relieve our men trapped in Stalingrad. For me and my platoon, it was over before we got twenty meters. Most of my platoon was wounded by artillery and mortar-fire. Most of them got stationed in the Crimea to rest and recover and refit. A couple of us were wounded bad enough to be sent to Germany. Now I lay in clean linens with pretty nurses tending me. Just wish I didn’t have a shard of shrapnel embedded in my skull.”

"I'm so grateful for my mother. No matter what, she's stuck with me through thick and thin. She's loved me through my teenager asshole years, and helped me through the attack. She's always managed to cheer me up when I felt useless due to my disabilities. No matter what I put her through: the medical bills, the meltdowns, the mental stress, she's always vein there for me and sometimes I wonder how the hell she put up with it. She truly is a strong woman and I would be dead if she hadn't been with me when she was."

"...Somethin ta be grateful for? I'm grateful ta have my sister Saundra alive with me. I've lost the woman who was to be my wife, und Saundra almost died on a mission but she escaped death though at the cost of her eye sight. Saundra is one of de reasons why I keep going. Why I get up in de morning every day, and face what ever maybe awaiting me. She is stubborn and hardheaded like me self, were Buchanan's after all, but my sister means da world ta me. So I thank God every day, that he's left my sister in my life instead of takin her away from me."

Im grateful to be alive... to wake up and see the sun in the morning and not a new bottle of medicine. I’m grateful I get to walk around, while it’s bad walking. I’m walking. I never though I would live too be an adult, free and almost independent. I’m grateful to have my life that is meant for me. Not me and someone else.

While you always hear.. treasure what you have... sometimes you need more to fully understand what a treasure is and what a cheap lie is.

I’m grateful to see the sun again, once more in the morning...

"What am I greatful for?" Marius thoughtfully pondered this a moment. Then he sighed,"Im greateful that my life is quiet and that I can knit peacefully, Im greatful to have a life with no more war and pain. Im even greatful for that ****head Kipp." He blanched a moment,"...I hope he doesn't take offense to that. I really do love him. He brings such light into my life. Id likely feel a lot more lonely without him with me."

Marius chuckled and shook his head,"well, I've talked long enough. Go on whippersnapper. Shoo and go play with the dolphins!"

What am I greateful for? Thou asked indeed the most important of all questions and I dare say, in the most sincere of replies, that I am grateful for everything... for everything that I am, for everything that I know, for everything that I have felt and for everything that I possess. Though my parchment, my quill and my inkwell is all I can claim to my name, they are most treasured in the hands of a poet such as myself. They allow me to capture the beauty that I perceive all around me, in the greatest detail, each and every passing day. To write down thoughts and dreams and share them with the world, and although I am a man of peace, I can narrate the greatest of battles, and though I am a lonely and heartbroken man, I can write of the most ardent and truest love in its greatest depths, for a writer needs to have felt love but once, as I have, to make it immortal and undying, kept alive in written word for all ages to come.
