A young girl attends a magic school and obtains a dragon that has imprinted itself onto her. Together they survive the life of a student.

Rose was her usual self on the outside, but nervous on the inside. Extremely nervous. She wanted a dragon. This was the only place that may make her feel like she belonged somewhere. She knew she had a high chance of a Cloud Dragon, but she didn't care which she got. She wanted a decent family.

The dimly lit room started filling with students. The dragon eggs were already in place in the make shift next in the middle while being kept warm thanks to the magic woven into the branches. The students were told to stay quiet as to not disturb the hatching. Everything was turned down to a low buzz in growing anticipation.

The mess of nerves that she was was now at an all-time high. 'Breath.' She thought. 'Breath, or your magic will flood out of control.'

Slowly, eggs started hatching one by one. The dragons had someone they were pulled to on instinct and went to them. It took a while but soon there was only one egg left that hadn't even moved. Quite a few students were still left without a dragon, after all, there was never enough for everyone to receive one. You either got a dragon inherited from your family or got one from the school. That's if you were lucky though. Sighs of relief could be heard when the egg finally shaking and cracking.

Rose found herself leaning forward hopefully, breaths hard to take, mind a whirl of chaos. She didn't notice the Head Girl and Boy of House Cloudrider watching the egg and her, as if they knew.

The other eggs were sudden, as if the dragon inside was confident with what it would find when it eventually popped out. This one was slow and timid but eventually made a hole big enough to stick its head out and look around. Blue orbs inside of the shiny grey head peered out to observe everything. The tiny dragon stopped scanning when she locked eyes with another set of blue orbs. There was an aura about her that was very enticing. Like the scent of honey to a bee, the dragon started finishing its escape from the egg.

Rose gasped. The dragon, even as it broke free, rarely deviated from her! Which meant she was chosen. She didn't even realize that she was on her knees, tears silently falling in relief as a smile slowly grew. This worried the teachers.

The tiny dragon saw a grow in the enticing aura and grew frantic. She wanted to be in that aura and didn't want anyone to get in the way of her goal. She peeped and tumbled over a few shells as she hurriedly scrambled towards the girl she desperately needed to be with. She tripped maybe once more before climbing onto the girls knees. Her instincts told her to dry the rain coming from the orbs, so she did, licking at the salty warm rain leaking from the girls eyes.
She peeped again, no more salty rain.

Rose gently hugged her Dragon, now more in awe then anything. She looked up when a hand extended to her. She looked to see it was the Head Girl, who had a motherly gaze. "Errr... Sorry..." She took the arm, realizing she had a slight increase in pressure in her head. Not a headache, but like something else was there.

The little dragon allowed the girl to pick her up, very content with staying within the sweet aura of the girl. A new window within her mind opened up and she could tell it lead to the girl. She figured the first thing she should say to the girl was "You're sweet." Because it was obviously true. The girl was very sweet and the dragon didn't want to leave it for a second.

Rose jumped, before looking down into her arms. "Are you supposed to speak that soon?" The Head Boy came over. "On some occasions fhey can. Not exactly rare, but not common. Still, she's special. Welcome to House Cloudrider. I'm Iso."

She didn't quite understand what she meant by that, but she wasnt going to dwell on it. There was a new person in front of them, a boy. He had a similar aura to the girl who was holding her but it didn't seem as enticing. Though she felt pride that he had called her special. She didn't know exactly what it meant, but it sounded good. The tiny dragon peeped a dragon like bark in response to the praise.

Iso chuckled. "Ask her her name. Just imagine a wall between you two and us."

The dragon piped up immediately. "A name?! I get a name?! Do you get a name!? Do we get to share names?!" Her short tail started wagging involuntarily due to her excitement.

Rose giggled. 'Yes. My name is Rose.'

The tiny dragon gasped through the open window connecting their minds, "Rose! You're Rose! Rose is sweet! Am I Rose? Are we Rose together?" The tiny dragon was getting so excited she started squirming within Rose's arms as if squirming would be able to help show her enthusiasm even more.
