Although I am obsessed with all things rock, screamo, metal, etc.. I also like musicals.

Currently I am obsessed with:

-Dear Evan Hansen

-Heathers

I know that isn't a lot, but what musical's do you like? Any recommendations? <3
A topic I can't resist, even if I wanted to (and I don't!).

Les Miserables. The 25th Anniversary Gala Performance is the best. In my humble opinion. Warning: it's a bit depressing (in English it translates to "The Misery," so...yeah. That speaks for itself. Lol.)

Some lyrics

At the end of the day you're another day older
And that's all you can say for the life of the poor
It's a struggle, it's a war
And there's nothing that anyone's giving
One more day standing about, what is it for?
One day less to be living
At the end of the day you're another day colder
And the shirt on your back doesn't keep out the chill
And the righteous hurry past
They don't hear the little ones crying
And the plague is coming on fast, ready to kill
One day nearer to dying

It's about the life of a woman in France around the time of the French revolution.

She gets pregnant out of wedlock, and then because she has a child and no husband is forced out of her job and into prostitution.

Then more tragic things happen, and the second half is about the life of her daughter, who grew up not knowing her, raised by a convict on the run who swore to her mother that he would take care of her.

It's SO GOOD.

But it's not light -- and not gothic, or dark in the ways gothic things are dark. But it's dark in a "this was the real, gritty, life of the poor in France back when there were peasants and snobby, self-righteous wealthy folks on "the right side" of the law.

It's dark in a Charles Dickens way, not in a Phantom of the Opera way, but it's deep and moving.

Speaking of dark--Phantom of the Opera! It's not my favorite musical, but it's quality, and it seems right up your alley! In fact, I'm betting you've probably already seen it. If not...I recommend it!

I personally also like Oliver and The Sound of Music, but some people find those to be a bit cheesy, especially the Sound of Music, but I love them.

These are all old school...but those are my recommendations!

That sounds so interesting! Thank you bunches for your recommendations. I have watched Phantom of the Opera! It is pretty good. I also love, love, LOVE the Sound of Music! Cheesy is good, in some cases!
I'm going to be the most unoriginal human being ever and mention how much I love Hamilton. Like...so much. I listen to the soundtrack so much, and I can sing almost every line of my favorite songs -- top favorite is "The Room Where It Happens." And every single one of King George's little numbers, haha.

But I also loooooove: Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music. Similar tastes we've got here, haha.

Ah! Yes! Please, do. They also have a book for it and the soundtrack is on Spotify. It is an absoluetly phenomenal musical and a lot of their songs have helped me through some tough times.

You see, I used to be a pretty big fan of Hamilton, but then my younger sibling got super into. I was constantly having to hear the songs every second of every day, and now I am burnt out completely. Haha, R.I.P.
Cats, cats and cats!

I love the musical so much.

Its about a bunch of cats who dance and pick 1 cats who goes to the heaviside layer (cats heaven or something like that)

Through the musical you'll get introduced to the cats and ofcourse we have Grizabella a cat who left the tribe and now want's to come back but the cats don't accept her.

Mungojerry and Rumpleteazer and Memory

These 2 are my favourite songs.

BE MORE CHILL

It's about a boy who takes a Japanese pill to get through high school. It implants another dude in his head which tells him what to do and it also explores his best friends heartbreak.

HAMILTON

YEET LINMUREL MARANDA

21 CHUMP STREET

it's a short musical with lin-mural Miranda in it. It's about a cop who goes undercover in high school. This boy falls for her and gets her drugs.

That first one sounds so amazing.

Also, you should watch Heathers. They have the movie on Netflix (not the musical, sadly) and it is awesome. The soundtrack for the musical is phenomenal. Lemme put a link to a pretty hilarious song called Blue

Try Wicked. It's a musical based on a revisionist prequel of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz called Wicked, which is a story about the Wicked Witch of the West before she became such a person. I saw musical years ago and I liked it to this day. Go have a watch if you can.

I've never been one for musicals, but I did like Evita.
