Aaron slowly lifted the lid off of the crate he was crouching in, making sure to keep absolute silence as he slunk across the wooden floor of the carriage. The road was dirt as far as he could tell which meant they were on a side path, away from the main road. He carefully crept up behind the carriage driver and when he felt the time was right he grabbed the back of his head and slammed it up against a nearby crate, knocking him out. Quickly, he grabbed the reins and pulled to bring the cart to a screeching halt.
He patted down the driver, taking a small satchel filled with gold and a silver ring from his finger. It wasn't much but it would have do for now. He had to make sure he was a safe distance away before the driver woke up again. Jumping down from the carriage he started into a sprint. Unfortunately, he got no farther than into the tree line when he barreled right into another.

Ahdeth had recently just left a small Dwarven city where he had spent a few weeks in. He was able to learn how to mine without breaking a sweat and just what sort of precious jewels lays under their feet. He was lucky enough to be given a bagful of jewels as a good bye gift from the Dwarf he had apprenticed under for those few weeks but it was time to continue his journey. While he was living in the Dwarven city he had heard a few tales of a great and powerful Elven city that lay west from Dwarven territory. Leith had quickly decided this to be where he went next.
As he walked along the side of a dirt path he noticed a carriage at a standstill up ahead. He shifted his back on his shoulder and brushed his long blonde bangs to the side to get a better look and what he noticed next made him act quick. He watched a man barreled towards him but quickly disappeared as he went into the tree lines. Ahdeth blinked and unsheathed one of his swords, turning ff into the forest to see what had happened.

To say the least, Aarons head hurt. After he had hit whatever he had hit, it had been a long roll down the hill with more than a few rocks. He lay on his back an groan coming from the back of his throat. He rolled onto his side and brought himself back onto his feet.
"Shit," he mumbled to himself as he noticed the scattered gold on the ground,"all that work and nothing to show for it." he kicked the ground in frustration and stooped down to pick up his earnings. That was when he heard someone else coming his way. Quickly grabbing as much as he could he ran and hid behind one of the thicker trees nearby.

He paused behind a tree as heard something scatter across the ground. He silently crept through the brush and kept his sword low to the ground, silencing his breathing. It was certainly a handy trick to have when you won't want to be noticed quiet yet. He stopped once he heard the man curse. He took a moment to think whether he should show himself or stay a distance away.
His thoughts were interrupted once he heard heavy footsteps that then suddenly stopped. He must be hiding he assumed. He slowly stood, keeping his sword hidden and picked up a piece of gold lying near the bush,"So...you're a thief?"he mumbled and looked around.

He silently worked his way up the tree, making sure he wasn't able to be seen. Crouching low he crawled onto a long branch, observing the man below. He quickly noticed the blade in his hand and he tensed. He needed to make sure this man was not a threat before he showed himself. Keeping to the dense and leafy part of the tree he kept himself hidden and visual remained. The man didn't look very threatening except for the blade, but it was best to treat him as a hostile until things were known for certain.
The longer he looked the more it came to be certain that he was carrying a large sum of money. Dwarven gold in particular. A smirk made its way onto his face as he heard the comment be made. He made the quick decision to trust this man for the time being. He jumped down from the branch, making himself know to the stranger. "Which is why you shouldnt be carrying around so much money, it makes you a prime target."

Ahdeth took a quick step back and eyed him carefully, his face expressionless. Yes, this man was absolutely a thief, he could tell just by the way he held himself. Ahdeth quickly decided trust was not the best option,"Yes, it does. But I only carry it as a symbol."he reached into his cloak and pulled out a bag of gold,"This is the sort of stuff you injure people for correct?"he opened put the bag away and watched his every move.
"Let's see...Just a moment ago you sat up in that tree. It's easy to assume by the way a thief thinks that they decided to feign trust when I simply was curious to see if you were alright. And yes I drew my weapon as a way of being careful. Whats your next move?"he questioned and kept his deep blue eyes steady.

He felt genuinely insulted,"Oh please, he will only wake up with a headache and nothing more. Not like someone like you who brings pounds of gold as a 'symbol'. You know how many people would kill for something like that?" A flash of defiance showed in his eyes when the bag disappeared back into his cloak.
"Who said I was feigning trust? And being careful? I'm unarmed. Right now, Im starting to think I'm not the one in the wrong here. What traveler walks around with a large satchel of gold and blades at the ready?" He took a step forward,"Who are you really? Because you can't possibly just be someone passing by."

Ahdeth simply shrugged,"I do not flaunt it nor do I have such luxuries. I admit it is a bit much for a traveler such as me but it's simply back up. The sword was just defense. I'm a cautious man."he glanced to the side, and rustling could be heard in his cloak. He held out a handful of gold to him,"Since you actually seemed offended perhaps this could put us in better terms..."he mumbled and took a step towards him, sheathing his sword.
Aaron looked at the gold with longing. He swallowed hard, wanting to take it but knowing he couldn't. It would make him look weak. He simply sneered,"I don't need your charity." He put his hand out,"but I hope a simple handshake might suffice." He didn't smile before he turned away,"So, where do you think you're headed?"
Ahdeth blinked and slowly slipped it back into his pouch the then took his hand,"I did not mean it as charity...My name is Ahdeth."he smiled a bit. As soon as he took his hand he felt something ripple through his body. He blinked once but quickly acted as if nothing had happened,"I am on my way to the Elven city up ahead..."
"Its very nice to meet you Ahdeth, the names Aaron." He shook his hand, the others grip firm and strong."But that much I figured, I mean what is your purpose. A rich boy like you must have some set business." He turned back around to face him a small chuckle coming from the back of his throat,"or perhaps you have nothing on your mind except a nice elven women." Raising an eyebrow, he waited as the answer was heard."You know what," he stepped closer towards Ahdeth,"because I am such a nice man, I offer myself and my assistance to you. What do you say?"
Ahdeth blinked a few times. Elven women? Did he really look like the kind of guy that drooled over women? He quickly shook his head,"No no...I've been doing a lot of traveling and I heard about it."he sighed and took a moment to calm down. He paused as he heard the last sentence,"Your services?"he thought about it for a moment. Maybe it would be a good idea hanging around this guy but then again it could just screw him over. He looked at Aaron before he sighed,"I suppose...if you want to accompany me then you may."he tossed the pouch of gold to him,"I'm putting my trust into you."
He caught the gold and quickly bowed down,"You may trust me, I will not betray you my liege." He straightened himself and smirked,"Are you absolutely sure, because I know a few good brothels...."when Ahdeth just walked past him though, he quickly shut up, placing the gold in a satchel on his waist. Shrugging, he followed closely behind, still not sure what the other was playing at. He still wasnt absolutely sure what had convinced him not to run, but to actually keep to his word. He wasn't entirely sure he minded either. This guy had money and money meant safety in his mind.
Ahdeth led them out of the forest. He looked around and noticed the carriage had left,"Good move on his part."he chuckled quietly and continued his walk down the dusty road,"So...Aaron...do you just enjoy money or is there a purpose for your thievery?"he surprised himself with his attitude towards the stranger and quickly began to build his walls. Anyone who can get those down so quickly after meeting the first time is dangerous. He went quiet after he asked these questions.
They had started walking and when they got out of the trees Aaron could see the carriage to the left. He instantly felt a pang of regret, for he probably hurt that man and he hasn't even gotten anything out of it. It wasn't too far down the road that Ahdeth finally spoke to him. The question sort of took him off guard. "I...well, money is pretty much life. Without it you can't eat you can't get shelter and you can't get heat. Without money you die, and I'm not ready to go yet."
Ahdeth thought about his answer for a short time. He never felt the need for money since he was created in a forest. A place he learned how to stay warm in, hunt for his own food and build his own shelter but he supposed others didn't know how to do such things,"Yes...I understand why it must be important. You may keep what I gave you. I am not trying to show off but I think you have more need for it."he glanced back at him with a small smile.
"I'm not for pity," he mumbled, soft enough so out of earshot of the man in front of him. Looking up, he saw the small smile on Ahdeths face and he only smirked in return. They hit the gate soon and Aaron tried to act casual as the gatekeeper interrogated his partner. The elves were not a huge fan of mankind, and he couldn't really blame the gatekeeper for his hostility towards Ahdeth. The elves and mankind went a long way back. Without too much trouble, the both of them managed to worm their way in.
The inside was beautiful. Everything was made out of the most intricately carved wood and embellished with gold, silver, and platinum. The buildings were all finely made and looked equally as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. At this point in the evening, everything began to glitter as the setting sun turned the sky a lovely mix of gold and magenta. "I suppose the first thing we should do is find a place to stay for the night. Unless you have a list to go off of."

Ahdeth was able to eventually get entrance into the city once the guards felt a bit at ease with allowing them inside. As soon as they entered the city his breath was taken away. He stood for moments just to take it in. He had never seen a city of such beauty and delicacy. He almost missed what Aaron said as he was taking in the view and nodded slightly,"Yeah...yeah good idea."he mumbled and began to walk through the streets, more interested in looking around the city then finding a tavern for them to stay in.
Eventually they came upon the Golden Arrow, a small tavern that lay near the market. Luckily it wasn't too busy there were enough rooms for the two of them,"Two rooms please.."he asked to the innkeeper and glanced at Aaron.

Aaron followed obediently into the tavern, instantly enjoying the remarkable high class of it all. It wasn't until his partner tried ordering the rooms that he had to step in."We'll take the large two bed suite on the third floor if you don't mind." He saw Ahdeths glance and winked back at him. The innkeeper simply rolled his eyes and leaned up on the counter.
"I apologize, but we don't cater to your kind." He looked down at Aaron and sneered, that was, until he slapped a good amount of gold coins on the table. The innkeeper just raised his eyebrows and said nothing before taking the money and handing him a set of silver keys. Aaron took them before quickly leaning in,"Oh and I, uh, put in a few extra, so if you could send that barmaid up to my room a little later, that would be wonderful." He cracked the best smile he could but was soon cut off when someone pulled him down and dragged him up the stairs.

Ahdeth's face flushed deeply and he looked to the side,"This situation went horrible...very quickly."he grabbed the back of Aaron's shirt and gru, bled before he dragged him upstairs,"Please don't send up. My partner's being cheeky."
He dragged him up to the third floor, ignoring any comment he said. He unlocked their assigned room and tossed him onto the bed,"If we somehow get along it will be a miracle."he chuckled and closed the door as he took off his cloak. Under his cloak he wore a simple black shirt and pants that clung to his curves. He rubbed his shoulders once he took his blades off his back and sat on his bed, unlacing his boots.
