Ahdeth shrugged then slid off the bed. He pulled up the sheets then smiled,"Well there are two mattresses and i'm not really much of a cuddler."he glanced at Aaron then turned his body, resting back against the bed. He rolled his eyes and sighed,"Fine we'll start later. I need to rest my head anyway."he rubbed the side of his head gently. Once he felt the pain soften he stood and began to pull the top mattress off the bed. He threw one of the blankets onto the other mattress as well as the one pillow,"You can have that one. I don't need a pillow."he said tiredly as he laid down on the mattress.
"Wow, I didn't think that would actually work." He muttered to himself as he lay down on the mattress. He stretched out his still stiff back, living the feeling if his own bed for a night. They were going to have to get single bed rooms from now on though, with their low funds now, they would barely be able to afford a two bedroom. He sighed, allowing his body to relax and closed his eyes, letting sleep soon take him.
When he awoke, it was still dark, but you could see strings of sunlight beginning to line the sky. He leaned up on his arm, looking up at Ahdeth who was still sleeping. He couldn't remember what had woken him, but whatever it was, it made him wake up in a cold sweat. He swallowed and stood, cracking his back, which was starting to slowly feel better, and sat up against the windowsill, looking out as the first rays of sunlight lot up the sky and got it ready for morning.

Ahdeth grabbed the blanket and lazily draped it over himself, already half asleep when he hit the mattress. He curled up into a ball, quietly mumbling in his sleep before he fully fell into a deep slumber. He slept peacefully, the throbbing in his head slowly dying down as his body relaxed.
Ahdeth woke up slowly, drunken from sleep. He rolled onto the floor and lifted himself up with his elbows then slowly stood up. He rubbed his eyes and yanked the string out of his hair,"Morning..."he mumbled and walked over to his bag,"Hungry?"

Aaron had awoken long before Ahdeth had and was promptly dressing himself as he heard the other rise from his own bed. He smirked when he heard the so common question between the two,"Aren't I always." He said with a small chuckle. "Feeling any better this morning?" He asked, sitting down on his partners bed. The question was for no discernible reason, but it was a conversation, which in their case couldn't hurt. An air had formed around the both of them after, well, Aaron couldn't really remember when. Mostly when they first started together, but really when...when he had given Ahdeth that small peck on the cheek. Aaron himself had thought nothing of it, but had never given even a passing thought to how the recipient might have felt. He just shrugged and let his own question be answered for the time being.
Ahdeth searched through his bag and sighed as he noticed they were running low on food. He pulled out two apples and handed one to Aaron,"I'll go shopping. My head feels better..."he answered, almost forgetting Aaron had asked. He changed into some clean clothes then grabbed a few gold coins,"Any requests before I head out?"he asked, looking to Aaron as he combed his fingers through his hair. His head felt fuzzy but the repetitive pain from the day before had died down. Ahdeth was always a quick healer.
Aaron put his chin in his upturned hands and smirked at Ahdeth,"Well, first, meat, anything you can find. Then, I want you to get an apron. It just seems more fitting for you right now, if you know what I mean, you doing all the housework and everything." he stood from where he was on the bed,"what's with that face?" he asked when he saw his partner roll his eyes and grimace,"What? I'm only joking. You're annoyed with me aren't you," crossing his arms he leaned his back against the wall, a smug expression on his face,"if I am getting on you're nerves, just smack me or something. Then again, don't smack me, that sort of thing REALLY gets me going, just tell me."
Ahdeth paused as he took a step out the door and turned his head, his expression filled with rage,"You know...I've always thought I was a pretty calm guy but for some reason you REALLY get on my nerves. Maybe it's because you constantly make fun of my sexuality or because you simply get a kick out of getting me all flustered. And for some reason I want to keep you around."he growled and walked over to him,"Do you hate me or something or do you really get off on it? If I don't get a reason by the time I'm back I may not be so nice."he turned on his heel and walked out of the small, dingy inn room.
He whistled after Ahdeth slammed the door shut, jumping just a little at the loud noise. Running a hand through his hair, he slid down the wall, thoughtfully looking at the door Ahdeth has just exited from. It took his a while, why did he tease Ahdeth? It was amusing, but he didnt know just why. He closed his eyes, his hand still in his hair when he was suddenly shoved out of his thoughts by a very angry Ahdeth trailing an entire bag full of food. He didn't even make an attempt to help, his whole body tensing at the anger that practically radiated off his partner in waves. He did his best to ignore the other, but he was soon faced with the furious questioning stare.
The gaze was not returned, Aaron looking at the floor more than anything. "I don't hate you....but why do you keep me around. You could have slit my throat the second you met me and not spared a second glance, but you didn't; I tease you, not because I hate you or anything like that, you just...you keep these sort of, barriers. Like I wake up in the morning and you have this hostile air about you, like you don't trust me, or you're mad you didn't kill me when you had the chance. I'm not saying those are the reasons but...thats what it feels like. I'm just trying to make being around you a bit more bareable I suppose..." he stood and looked at Ahdeth, another grin forming on his face,"I mean, you are a bit of a downer you know."

Ahdeth blinked a few times after his answer, looking to the side with an almost guilty expression. He grabbed the bag full of food and began to chop some of the vegetables, taking his own time to think of how to respond. He knew he had barriers, which didn't exactly help with his people skills but he...had a fear of becoming close to someone. It was something that had built in his mind after years of watching people fight amongst each other. They always looked so unhappy and it always ended horribly. Ahdeth could handle little emotion as it is and the fact that he could let his barriers down around Aaron was seriously getting to him.
He sighed in the middle of cutting a carrot and set the knife down,"Listen, I am sorry that I came off that way. I don't want to kill you or anything, I've just never met someone like you. Who get's so under my skin and makes me feel a reaction. Barriers are my only way to protect myself from...feelings I don't want. I want to be your friend, but I have to know you won't end up deserting me for no good reason. It's sound childish but...I have little experience with people I've actually wanted to be friends with."he sighed and rubbed the back of his head,"I'm sorry..."

He sighed in
He sighed internally, not wanting to come off as insensitive. Of course Ahdeth would want to protect himself, it was a natural reaction. He moved his way over to his partner, understanding the need to keep others out and shut out the emotion for fear of being broken. He put his hand on the wall behind them, pinning him. "I'm sorry about this in advance, and don't take this the wrong way, but I will never leave you. I don't want to hurt you." They were rather close, so much so that Aaron could feel Ahdeths breath on his face. It was a bit too close for comfort in his book, but it didn't matter at the current moment. He got his point across.
Ahdeth was surprised, no shocked that Aaron could put himself so close to a man who had admitted he enjoyed the same sex when Ahdeth was positive he was straight. Ahdeth nodded slightly and his gaze shot up,"Alright...we've been through this much, I should at least trust you."he sighed and gently pushed Aaron away from him,"Now, let me finish breakfast."he patted his head lightly and stood, walking back over to where he had been cutting Vegetable. He put certain vegetables that he had cut away, using them as a snack for later instead of breakfast. He pulled out some eggs as well as a pan,"What do you like on his omelets?"he asked as he rolled up his sleeves.
He rolled his eyes teasingly, smiling slightly. He leaned up against the wall, watching the other man work. "I don't really mind princess, anything will do just fine." he pushed himself off the wall and grabbed a chair, flipping it around and straddling it he sat in front of him. "So," he chuckled,"I give you this nice line from the bottom of my heart, and all you can say is 'alright'?" he raised an eyebrow and looked up at the man cooking for the both of them. He grabbed and apple and bit into it, smirking up at him, his eyes playful.
Ahdeth glanced over at him as he cracked some eggs into a bowl,"What were you expecting Aaron?"he asked and a small smile played on his lips,"Were you expecting me to embrace you tightly and pledge myself as your partner? You're not exactly my type lover boy."he winked, beginning to allow his barriers down to let himself have some fun or a nice conversation. He grabbed a spoon and began to stir the eggs until all the yolks were stirred.
The smile grew wider, loving it when Ahdeth played along. It happened ever so seldom. "Maybe I was, what of it." he took another bite and shrugged,"but what is your type? Because if it's not me you'll never find anyone else. I'm as perfect as it gets." he sighed melodramatically,"What with a lovely sense of humor with an equal amount of charm and not to mentionf dashing good looks. I can honestly tell you theres no one else." He threw the apple into a designated trash bag and leaned his head in one hand,"But in all seriousness, what do you prefer. What qualities do you tend to look for, if you don't mind me asking."
Ahdeth laughed as he continued to banter on about himself and his mood seemed to lighten considerably. He hated to admit it but he really thought Aaron was rather funny. He looked to the omelet he was currently cooking and folded it over so he could check to see if anywhere was burning. He grabbed a plate once it was perfectly cooked and slipped it onto the plate. He handed his partner the plate as well as fork then began to make his own,"My type?"he took a long moment to think about it as he cooked,"All I want is someone I can be comfortable with and enjoy an adventure together. It is a passion of mine I suppose..."he shrugged.
"So, me?" He tasted the omelet, savoring the flavors as they washed over him. "Basically just described me with those two things. You might need to narrow it down. Any certain kinks required?" he raised an eyebrow, just curious but still having some fun with it. He did want to get to know the other man, he never actually got to sit down with him and have a talk. They were always moving, doing something that was preventing them from having a real conversation. Though this wasn't exactly how Aaron wanted to start them off getting to really know each other, these sort of questions would pop up at one point or another.
Ahdeth looked at him,"Your a suitable partner but I'm not sure I could handle all your remarks as a lover."he said and slipped his own omelet onto his plate. He turned off the stove and leaned against the wall, taking small bites as he thought,"Kinks? I'm not aware of any since I've never really had a lover before."he chuckled and continued to eat his omelet, awaiting the next question from his partner.
He shrugged, that seemed like a reasonable answer. "you act like my remarks are a bad thing. I hope you know that I try very hard in thinking up witty comebacks." he acted offended for a moment but his eyebrows knotted together when he heard the second statement,"You have been in love before though, right? I mean, even if they never recognized your affections you've still experienced it right?" he looked up from his food, giving him a questioning look.
Ahdeth paused as he was able to take another bite of his omelet. He set his fork down onto his plate as he sat across from Aaron,"Yes, but I can arely remember the feeling. It was so long ago after all."he shrugged and turned his eyes to his food, pausing once again because his hair was almost touching his food. He quickly pulled it back then continued to eat,"I don't think your remarks are bad, I'm simply not used to them."
