The carriage that went along the highest of bridges was a handsome one of red, gloss wood and golden embellishments. It was lead by four horses of a similar color to compliment its beauty. A fine coachman drove and, inside, contained one of the most prominent families in all of Alasain. The Domine's had enjoyed their status for many, many generations and had quite a bit of influence. Rumors were shared over tea in garden parties that the Mrs. James Domine was a descendant of the first king, though there was no proof and the lady herself had never confirmed this one way or the other.
Aside from their status, they were quite the handsome family. Each of them shared the same pale hair and curiously colored eyes. The lady of the family was more handsome than lovely and her husband was a man more intimidating than pleasing to look upon. Despite these factors, their children were infamously beautiful...despite the defects of the son.
It was half past seven, William read on his pocket watch, and the lot of them were on their way to the home of the Latrouve's. He had known the family since he was just a boy and understood that his parents were friends with the family. He looked to his side where his sister sat. She adjusted the pearl buttons on her kid gloves. While he was forced into a simple suit that was similar to their father's, she wore a lovely gown that out-shined their mother's. Though she did not look at him, she did smile.
'Careful, Lute. Father is watching today, very close.'
The voice was in his head. Sarah had a gift. One that no one knew of. William glanced towards the heavily mustached man to discover her warning was true. This was to be quite a difficult evening, he supposed but he could feel that this was where he needed to be tonight...If only he understood the reason why...

The house that they pulled up to was large and ornate, very much fitting someone of such a high social status. A butler would lead them inside while a servant boy took care of the carriage and horses. They were brought to the lavishly decorated sitting room, where the family was waiting. Mr. and Mrs. Latrouve, and Mimouru, their daughter. Mr. Latrouve walked over and clasped hands with Mr. Domine. "Welcome, welcome! We're glad you could make it. I trust your trip went well?"
Mrs. Latrouve greeted Mrs. Domine, but Mimi stayed where she was, polite and proper, not speaking or moving until she was spoken to first. She looked at Will and Sarah, and smiled gently. Mimi was all dressed up in a lovely summer dress, since the weather was quite warm. Even with her age, she looked absolutely lovely in lace and frills.
