Jean looked at her father as he agured with her mother that Jean should go back to Hell for more tarining. "I say she needs it, you might as well get use to seeing her less! She well be with me more!" Satan yelled at Jean's mother, Heather. "I say she should choose if she wants to be the heir of Hell! She shouldn't have to deal with you and your Goddamn rules!" Jean couldn't take it and ran outside, her eyes shifting to a firey red color as her speed increased. She could feel that her devil side was coming out and she wanted nothing more than to throw it to the side like it wasn't part of her

Alec was strolling along on the street, Kay by her feet. They had been in town on a job and had decided to stay around for a few days to relax. They were having a low conversation when Alec was suddenly knocked off her feet by someone running past them. She felt her cat ears pop out with the surprise, and hit the ground hard because she used her hands to hide them rather than cushion her fall.
"Ouch! Hey, watch where you're going!"

Jean quickly got up after she ran into someone, flinching in surprise at the response she got from the simple mistake. "I-I'm sorry, miss." Tears were in her eyes from seeing her parents fight again and the thought of returning to hell again. She hated it there with a passion but had no choice but to go to keep her mother from dying at the hand of her father.

Alec shook her head in irritation, but the feeling fell off her when she set eyes on the girl that had bumped into her. The first thing that struck her was the intense color of her eyes, but then her focus was on the tears in them. Surely she had not made the girl cry?
"Hey, are you alright? Did you hurt yourself?" she asked with concern. She got to her feet and reached out a hand to the other girl, forgetting that her ears were still visible. "Here, let me help you up."

Jean accepted her hand and stood up, but shook her head. "No, I am fine." She tried to wipe away the last of the tears but they kept falling with the thought of hell. She really hated showing such weakness. She knew her eyes had shifted from blood red to their bright fiery red, which she hated even more. She never liked being a half demon, it always made her mad when she got emotional, her eyes shifted colors.

Alec didn't quite know what to do. On the one hand she didn't know this girl. On the other, something was obviously wrong, and she couldn't bring herself to just leave. Instead she reached out a hand, catching a teardrop on her finger as it fell and held it up to eye-level.
"Well, something's obviously wrong," she said as she tilted her head in thought. "Did something happen?"
She knew that she was being nosy, but she simply couldn't stand seeing the girl cry, right in front of her, and not at least try to help. It went against her every instinct. She was fully prepared to be blown off however, people generally didn't want to tell complete strangers their troubles, even though that might actually help sometimes.

Jean looked down at the ground, still wiping away the tears. "Just my parents fighting again with who I should stay with more. Usual stuff." She said, sniffling. She didn't even know this girl but it seemed like she honestly wanted to help, even though this was Jean's problem that she should deal with herself. Her parents were always fighting and they never seemed to stop, with or without her around.

Alec nodded her head slowly. Parents. She had never had that problem herself, since she had been living with her father since she was five, but she had heard things like this from several of the members of the Crows. Parents who fight over their children, completely discarding what the child thinks as long as they get things the way they want them.
"I see. That doesn't sound fun at all." She hesitated a moment, wondering if she was being too forward with a girl she just met, but decided to continue anyway. "I know that you don't know me, and I'm sorry if you feel like I'm butting in where I don't belong, but do you want to talk about it? It might help, and I have plenty of time."

((Ooc: Just giving you fair warning that I've gone to bed reading, bringing my laptop with me ^^ So if I suddenly stop responding, I've most likely fallen asleep ))

Jean nodded. "It isn't any fun. More so who my father is and I hate where he lives." She sniffled again, trying to dry up her tears. She had been dealing with this since she was a baby, all because her father raped her mother, thinking that she wouldn't want to keep Jean because she was half devil, not to mention she was the devil himself's daughter.
She nodded, sighing. "They've been doing this for many years, they could never get along."

((Ooc: That is fine. Its only six over here so I won't be falling asleep any time soon. ))

Alec nodded again.
"Must be tough. Where does your father live then? It must be a horrible place if you hate it I mean."
She could see that the girl was trying hard to stop crying, and it was heart-breaking to watch. Alec gently touched her arm and nodded her head questioningly towards a bench at the side of the street. People would soon be annoyed and interrupt their talk of they kept standing around where they were, and it would probably be more comfortable to sit down. It looked like this girl really needed someone to talk to, and Alec was a good listener.

Jean nodded and walked over to the bench. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." She said with a sigh, running her hand through her hand as she sat down on the bench. Anyone who heard of the the devil and Satan wouldn't like to hear that Jean was his daughter or that she had seen hell and was the heir to it when she turned twenty five, that was the age her father saw fit for her to be fully matured and ready to handle hell.

Alec smiled softly and pulled the attention of the girl to her ears, twitching them this way and that to show that they were indeed real.
"You'd be surprised at what I'd believe," she smiled. She herself was something that most people didn't believe existed, so she could understand the reluctance to talk about something that might not be believed. She hoped that this showed that she would though.

Jean sighed. "You won't like it."
She paused to hear what the girl would say then ran a hand through her hair. "My father is Satan, the devil cursed to remain in Hell till he can find an heir to take over. He had raped my mother when she was sleeping, expecting her to willing give me over because of who my father was and what my other half was. Well, she kept me. She wants me to stay with her and my father wants me to come with him so I can take over Hell against my wishes."

Alec blinked in surprise at the story she was hearing. That did indeed sound like one tangled mess. She pulled herself together as the girl quieted, and looked at her with sympathy in her eyes.
"That sounds like a mess. So you want to stay with your mother? Does your opinion not matter to them at all?"
She figured that she knew the answer to that question herself though. She mumbled quietly to herself, but loud enough that the girl might hear it.
"What is it with adults and trying to tell others how to live their lives?"

"My father cares not about me, just that he finds an heir and can leave hell." She sighed, still looking over at the ground in embarrassment. She didn't like being known at the devil's daughter, being seen as something she is not. She was not what people believed she was.

Alec tilted her head in thought at this. There had to be something she could do to help the girl.
"What would happen if you simply refuse?"
She had a feeling that there must be something that the Devil held over his daughter, she still had a hard time taking this fact in, to be able to force her into obedience.
