Max was starting to get an unpleasant feeling in his stomach. With his free hand, he grabbed Amy threateningly. She knew that he meant business. "Tell me what the hell is going on, right now." When Faye squealed about another man, it was like his stomach had turned to rock. He waited for Amy to confirm what he desperately hoped was not true.
The guy who Faye was talking about briefly glanced at them, at Faye. And that's all it took. He got a bit starry-eyed and had a dreamy smile on his face, very much like Faye when he send a 'Hey, Faye!', her way.
Amy winced at Max's serious expression and glared at him. "Let go of me. It's not my fault. I don't know what's gotten into her. She says she's in love." She grimaced, hinting it was not Max who she was talking about.

Max let go of Faye in shock at Amy's words. He turned and stared, and something inside him started boiling up when he saw this other man. "Ihavetogo." He left quickly, letting go of Amy and nearly running out of the school. He couldn't go crazy and kill someone in school, that would be bad. He had to find something else. Something else to kill. So that's what he did.
Faye turned around when Max left so abruptly. It puzzled her but pushed the thought out of her mind as soon as it appeared, even though there was something telling her what she was doing wasn't right.
Amy smacked her forehead and grabbed Faye's hand. "Well, c'mon already, we've got to figure out how to fix you! Stop not-staring at him!"

(Heehee! I love chat! I am doing homework though so my posts may lag a bit)
Max was gone for the rest of the day. He called Amy up near seven, asking what was going on. "I want to talk to her. Bring her over." Maybe it wasn't such the best idea ever, but damn it if he was going to let this go down without actually talking to Faye.

(Haha No worries!)
"Okay, I will, but I don't think it's her fault either, you know." Amy looked at Faye, who was picking a daisy's petals. "So no yelling at her or anything."
Faye had spent the whole day talking about a guy she didn't even knew that well. How? No idea. Amy had stayed with her in case something else happened.

"I'll do my best." he replied blandly. When they arrived, he opened the door. "Hey guys. Come on in." He took them into the living room and sat down. "Faye, we need to talk." He watched her carefully. She could see him now, it was about that time, so he looked into her eyes, to try and understand what she was thinking.
"Hey." Both greeted him as they walked in. Amy pulled a magazine from her bag and sat down to read it. Faye settled next to her, looking around the house a bit nervously. She sighed, knowing what was coming. Now that she was away from her crazy crush, she could think more clearly and was aware that being in love with someone else while she had a boyfriend was not okay. She'd tell him and hopefully, he'd understand. "I know. I'm sorry." She rubbed her side casually. There was a faint stinging feeling there, but she couldn't remember having hurt herself.
Max felt like his insides were being crushed. She knew who he was, she knew what they had to talk about. He wasn't sure he could do this. With a tight throat, he managed to speak. "..go ahead. You start." He was leaning against the wall, not wanting to sit near her. His mind was already going places it shouldn't be, considering how much silver it would take to do real damage. He took in a deep breath and let it out, waiting for a response.
Faye fidgeted with her hands, thinking about what to say. Amy looked at them for a moment and then went back to reading again. Finally, Faye spoke. "I... I can't be with you anymore." There she said it. She began to wonder how things had changed so fast, but that question was soon dismissed by the effect of the trance she was in. "It's wrong, and I'm sorry for causing you so much troubles." She was smart enough to not to mention the other guy.
Max felt sick. And with all this emotion swirling inside him, he nearly shut down. But he had to hold on for just a minute. "Why? I want a reason." It didn't make any sense. They had been fine. It had been so great, and now...this. He couldn't believe it. He felt sick. He felt so sick.
"A reason? I don't think you want to know." It was strange having Amy there for that conversation, but it was conforting too, and was glad she'd come with her. She glanced at her, but she was very interested in reading her magazine. Faye looked back at Max, feeling really bad, but the alternative was being with him, not feeling anything. Her logic, her heart and a certain god's workings were messing with her head. "There's someone else." She shifted, waiting for his answer.
"Why is there someone else?" the question came almost immediately after her answer. "Faye, Friday night we were kissing, making plans to hang out. What happened?" He wanted to know. He couldn't let go until he knew. He had to know, and he was going to find out. He had to have a reason.
"Because..." She couldn't find any reason that would satisfy him. "Just because." His questions were starting to give her a headache. It was as if they beckoned the real Faye to see this wasn't really her. "And you don't have to tell me about friday night, I know it, but things are different now." It sounded fake even to her. "I don't think there's anything left to talk about. Amy? We should go."
Max narrowed his eyes. "Just...Just because? What the hell kind of a reasoning is that?! 'Just because', you're going to say everything was a mistake and that you are suddenly magically in love with--" He froze. He'd said it, without even realizing until after. Magically. He punched the wall, leaving a fair-sized hole in it. "Amy. Keep her here." He was going to go pick a fight with a god.
Faye jumped when he yelled. She hadn't expected that. "I didn't say it was a mistake! I just do! There's nothing I can do about it!" Amy sighed, looking bored. She was more used to this than Faye, which is why she'd warned him not to do it. She also knew that if provoked, Faye could be very scary as well.
Amy held her hands up, getting up from the couch. "Wait, what? What are you going to do? Think twice and then discard whatever idea you have anyways, because I'm sure it's not a good one." Faye was already up too, ready to walk out.

Max glared at her. "The hell it is. Good one or not I am NOT going to lose her. This is all YOUR fault, so at least try to be helpful and keep her here where it's safe! Don't let her go ANYWHERE near that guy!" He ran out the door. It was Amy's fault for introducing them. It was time for him to find a god. How did he do that? Go to a different god. Namely, Faye's parents. He pounded on the door and waited for them to open up.
Both Faye and Amy flinched and looked at each other. This Faye, was actually scared of Max. Without the love she felt for him, she saw him with the eyes of someone who didn't understand him. Amy was about to follow him but, honestly, maybe that wasn't a good idea.
It was Faye's father who opened the door, narrowing his eyes at Max. "What the hell, kid? My door is an old lady." Her mom's face peeked over his shoulder. "You look troubled. What's the matter?"

Max looked at Faye's parents firmly. "I want to know how to find Cupid." She had mentioned him before, he had a problem with their family. And since the whole thing had to deal with love, it had to be Cupid. It had to be. "Because I'm gonna beat the shit out of him." There was no holding back and being proper right now. Someone was messing with Faye and trying to take her away from him against her will, and he was not going to let that happen.
The couple looked at him worriedly. It was such a drastic change from the polite Max they'd met a few days earlier. "Alright..." Faye's dad pinched the bridge of his nose. "He's a god. He's everywhere. And since he's the god of love, you can have an idea..." Raven, the mother, had a disapproving expression. "You shouldn't have told him that! What if he gets hurt?" She ducked under her husband's arm. "Max, why? I have the power to make you stay here if I want to, so I need you to tell me why you're going to fight him."
