Max turned around to look at her, a terribly pained expression on his face no matter how much he tried to hide it. And then he saw it. Through his tears, he saw it. The arrow in her side. He suddenly stepped forward, reaching for it, attempting to grasp it and yank it out. Maybe it was just a trick of his mind, maybe it was reality, but it didn't matter. If there was a chance to save her, then he was going to take that chance.

Faye gasped and stumbled. There was no blood, but it did hurt, a lot. She put a hand against a tree next to her so she wouldn't fall. The truth of everything that had happened, that she had done, came rushing to her. She looked at Max, horrified by what she had caused. She'd made him cry! Tears of her own began to fall. She was just making his life very complicated. "I'm sorry. I'll go now."
(Okay! Nighty!)
(Okay! Nighty!)
Max watched her stumble back. Had it worked? Did it happen? When she spoke of leaving, he had a terrible fear that it hadn't worked. "Faye. Do you love him?" He had to know. It was the only way to know. If the answer was yes, he would let her go. Max noticed his hands were shaking so he quickly shoved them in his pockets.
Strangely, she didn't feel anything towards that guy anymore. She thought about him and just wondered what would have happened if it had continued. It was as if Max and him had been swapped and what she felt for Max, had been redirected for someone else. So, with this conclussion, she shook her head and looked away of his face, at the moon lilies. "No, I don't."
Max closed the distance between them and held her in his arms, close and careful. "Then you don't have to leave. It's okay. Everything's better now. Someone made you feel that way, it wasn't your fault. It's okay..." He held her close. "...I'm sorry I couldn't protect you..."
Faye wrapped her arms around him again, crying more. She just couldn't help it. It was one of those times when no matter how hard you tried, the tears wouldn't stop coming. "I was so mean, and I didn't even notice." She snifled, however grateful it was over now. "You don't have anything to apologize for, Max. You did nothing wrong."
Max just held her close, held her in his arms. "If anyone tries to mess with you like that again I'll kill them." he murmured. "I love you, Faye. I love you more than anything." He sighed softly. "Come on. Let's go inside. I know Amy's worried about all this."
Her eyes widened when he told her he loved her. Her parents said it everyday, Amy usually did when Faye cheerfully agreed to go shopping with her; but hearing it from him was an entirely different thing. Faye smiled up at him and, without hesitating this time, kissed him softly. "Okay, now we can go."
Max kissed her back, without a doubt, and went inside with her. "Amy." He smiled at his cousin. "...everything's better. Like I said." He was going to make everything right, and he did. He sat down with Faye, brushing her hair from her face. "Are you okay?"
Faye was blushing slightly when she walked back inside with him. Sitting down, she wiped some tears from her cheeks and looked at him. "Yeah, I'm okay now. It was just crazy... all this." She sighed and reached to wipe his cheeks too, then kissed the tip of his nose. "I'm okay, and you?"
Amy was sipping from a can of soda and rolled her eyes at them. "It was about time." She smiled at them and then yawned. After some minutes, she got up. "Sorry, but I think it's time for me to leave." She cheked her watch and nodded, then looked at Faye. "Yep. Are you coming with me, or are you going to stay some more?" Faye hesitated, and looked at Max. It all depended on if he'd drive her back to her house.

Max smiled gently at her and held her close. Then he looked over at Amy, and released her. "Go ahead, you need to go home. I was talking to your parents earlier and I'm sure they're worried about how things turned out. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" He kissed her head, thanked Amy, and let them both leave.
Faye nodded. "Okay. I guess I'll hear you tomorrow." She smiled and got up from the couch. "Bye." She was still a bit shaken. Having had your feelings manipulated like that, literally, wasn't a nice experience. Amy and her walked to the door and left.
Back at her house, after assuring her parents she was alright, she went straight to her bedroom. Some peace and calm would be very welcome. But it wouldn't happen. When she opened the door, she almost had a heart attack at seeing Cupid sitting on her bed. "What are YOU doing here?"
The god waved at her. "Hi to you too." He said bitterly. So much for a receivement. And to think he was there to lift the burden she'd carried for so long. It was over in a blink. Faye hadn't even noticed. "I've done what I came here for, but before I leave," He got up. "You should thank me, you know." His expression was very serious. "You'll die eventually, and he will too but in a very, very long time. He'll either realize this and dump you, or he'll mourn your death for the rest of his life. Remember that those with god blood never live long. The curse is your parent's fault, I hold nothing against you." Cupid sighed and pointed at her. "Think about it."
And with that, he vanished, leaving Faye just staring at the spot he'd been standing.

If Max knew the god had been in Faye's bedroom....Well, there might not really be a Cupid anymore. But thankfully, the half-vampire didn't know, so he went about his night with spirits much more uplifted. Everything was back to normal, or so he thought. He would be able to spend time with Faye, take her to the places she wanted to see, take her to the dance...everything. No god or man would come between them. The next morning at school, Max arrived a little early, just to spend some extra time with Faye before classes.
Faye arrived just minutes later. It'd been a strange morning. She'd woken up, and not even noticed her sight was back, since she had been still half asleep. Stumbling to the bathroom, she'd seen her reflection in the mirror and start screaming like crazy, which might have woken up the neighbourhood. She had even ran outside to verify she wasn't dreaming. Many times, she'd imagined how it'd be to see the sunlight filtering through tree leaves, the park filled with kids playing and laughing, and just the plain ability to see that other part of life she hadn't been able to before. It was weird not having to touch the lockers to know she was in the right hall, or to listen for the voices that could give her hints of where she was. She had it all right there in front of her.
When she saw Max, she didn't walk towards him inmediately; instead, she took a moment to really see him. It was different, from this new perspective. Faye smiled. He wouldn't be able to sneak up on her anymore.

Max saw her looking at him and smiled. "Faye! Hey--" He froze. Wait. She was...looking at him. He ran over to her, grabbed her by the shoulders, stared into her eyes from a moment and then scooped her up and spun her around. "That's amazing!! That's wonderful, it's so wonderful!! How?! How did this happen?!" He put her down and looked at her.
Faye stared right back at him and laughed, holding tightly on him when he spun her around. She smiled. "Hey!" Anyone would think she'd never see him before, but it was just that things were so different now. "I don't know! I just woke up and... I could see!" Her cheeks were flushed from excitement. She took his hand, intending to lead him outside. "And, you lied about the sun! It's really impressive!"
Max laughed a bit and went outside with her. "It's really not all that much." He teased, sticking his tongue out at her. "You know what we're going to do on your first day of being able to see, Faye?" He scooped her up in his arms and carried her to his car. "We're going to skip school and see everything we could possibly see."
Faye's attention was fixed on the sky when she was suddenly lifted. Her arms inmediately wrapped around his neck, getting over the surprise. Some people stared at them, but she didn't mind. Nothing could possibly ruin that moment. Not even gods telling her being with Max wasn't a good idea. "You would skip school for that? Where are we going?" She smiled happily and then looked around, trying to commit everything to her memory, because it was just to good to be true. "I continue waiting for me to wake up and realize this has only been a dream, you know."
Max grinned at her. "Of course I would. And it's not a dream, Faye. Don't worry. It's real." He chuckled a bit and shook his head. "It's...it's too wonderful." He set her in the car and got her buckled. "Okay, where do you want to go first? The beach? The city? Where would you like to go, Faye?" He got in his car and waited for her to give him a destination.
Faye nodded in agreement. She just couldn't stop smiling. It was indeed too wonderful. She looked around, taking in everything she could, including him. "How about we go to the city and then later, we go to the beach? We could go to the park!" She clapped her hands.
