"I will." Faye smiled at him. Homework seemed much easier now, but she could use some help, and spending more time with Max was a plus. "Bye, you and Amy too!" Amy waved goodbye to her and skipped after her 'cousin'. "So... how are things going?" She asked catching up with him.
Faye watched them walk away and she too started walking. Walking was okay, but it'd be so much better if she had a bike. It was a nice day, a faint winter breeze whipped her hair around as her feet kicked some small rocks out of the way, not aware that at some point, she'd begun being followed.

Max got into the car. "I think things are going pretty well." he answered, taking in a deep breath. However, in that deep breath, he paused. There was a strange scent in the air. A scent he didn't like. "Amy where did you say you needed a ride to?" He shut the door and buckled up. "Buckle up tight." He wanted to get her there fast. Something wasn't right. He could feel it.
(Are you playing the bad vamp or am I?)

(I can play him if you want )
"My house." Amy replied, taking a good look at him. She knew him enough to know something was wrong. "I know I go out a lot but I have homework to do, you know. I'm so glad Faye and you are together. It's the best idea I've ever had to set you two up. You look so cute!"
Faye continued walking even though with every step she took, the feeling of being watched slowly started to creep in. She stopped and decided to take a shortcut. Surely there should be people at the park. Parents, children, dogs... People! Unfortunetely, it was deserted. And it was too late to go back.

(Ok! Go for it!)
Max drove off quickly. "Alright. Hold on." He sped along, not going TOO fast, but certainly above the speed limit. "Thanks. We'll talk more later. Something's wrong." He furrowed his brows, then glanced at Amy. "I think I smell another vampire. But it's been a long time since I've been around others of my kind. Especially in this area. They never come here. I want to check it out. We'll talk later, Amy, sorry. I really would like to catch up with you sometime. But this might be serious." He parked in her house and let her out. "Stay inside and salt your windows, alright? Just to be on the safe side. I'll text you what I find out."

Amy raised an eyebrow at him. Mr. Safe Driving was now practically flying. Her mouth opened in an 'o' when he mentioned another vampire and her face went all serious. "Got it." When he pulled up, she jumped out of the car. "I know, I know. Have silver stuff near and get an axe if possible. Don't worry about me, just promise you'll keep me informed."
Out of nowhere, a tall, pale guy knocked Faye out with a hit on her head. It was difficult to survive without a coven for vampires who prefered the tradiotal feeding method, and this one had gone through a lot. He was weak, and angry, and most important of all, very, very thirsty. He took a fistful of Faye's hair and smelled it, smirking. "Yes, this will have to do, at least for now."

Max opened the window and sped down the roads, taking in deep breaths. The scent was stronger. He pulled up along the side of the road near the park and saw someone standing over a body. He could recognize that stance. A vampire. He got out of the car and started towards him. "Blood will not be spilled tonight!" he growled, but then he stopped, frozen in his tracks as he saw who the vampire had grabbed. Faye. "Let. Her. Go."
The vampire, in his rush to find his next meal, had forgotten to check for others that might one to take a bite too. In his mind, Max was trying to take HIS prey. The one HE had captured. No way in hell. Without thinking it twice, he bit into Faye's arm. He'd be in condition to fight once he took at least one sip. Faye woke up with a start, grimacing at the pain shooting from her arm. She widened her eyes, trying to shake the vampire away from her. "Let go of me!"
Max let out a yell and was suddenly by the vampire, slamming his fist into the man's face. "NEVER EVER TOUCH HER!!" He started beating on the vampire violently, but given the fact that it was a vampire, they were probably pretty evenly matched. Max was in a rage at the fact that someone had bit Faye. He was going to make sure it never happened again.
(Twilight flashback because now she's been biten =o Lol)
After the surprise of being pushed away from his meal, the vampire fought back, trying to tackle Max, growling at him. He hadn't even gottent to bite on her neck! "Once I'm done, you won't have to worry about her anymore." He said, just mocking him. It had to be one of those wealking vampires that were too stupid to see that they were the predators and humans were meant to be the preys.
Faye clutched her arm to her chest, and reached for her backpack to get her phone and call someone, but her arm hurt too much and the backpack had been kicked too far away from her crawl there. She still tried though.

(ROFL. Burn all the sparklepires!! )
Max growled and slashed and punched viciously at him, his fingernails growing into claws, his eyes turning a deep, dangerous red. "You will die for your foolishness of stepping into MY territory!" he growled, aiming to break (off, potentially) the vampire's arm. "Savor that last sip, because you will never drink another drop of blood. I will send you back to the pits of hell where you came from!" Max was violent. He wasn't aware of his audience, he was busy fighting against the vampire. His own injuries were completely ignored. He was in a blood-rage, bent on destroying the vampire that had bit her.

The vampire let out a loud cry when his arm was broken, falling on his knees. They two made a pretty scary scene. Max with his blazing red eyes and the other guy with blood dripping down his chin. Faye's blood. Faye. The girl would probably never be the same. In another desperate attempt, the vampire grabbed her injured arm and twisted. He could't die until he'd gotten his revenge from an enemy vampire, and this one wasn't going to kill him before that happened. "I'm going to... walk away from here, without you following me. Or she'll die."

Or she'll die."
Max froze. He didn't move for a few long moments. And then suddenly he was standing by the vampire, his hand lifted, with blood covering it. It had happened in the blink of an eye, but suddenly the arm that held Faye was no longer attached. It was sliced clean through and laying on the ground. A firm kick knocked the vampire away from Faye. There wasn't even words anymore. Max was nearly completely taken over by his vampire side. If anything, it seemed that his human half made him all the more dangerous when his vampire strength took over. He dashed to the vampire again to do away with him at last and try to tear his head clean off.
Faye bit her lip so hard it started to bleed too. But that pain was much more bearable than the one that came when her arm was twisted, the vampire's claws digging into her skin. She scrambled away from the arm that laid on the ground next to her. She should've closed her eyes. But she didn't. The thirsty vampire didn't stand a chance against one that drank frequently and wasn't gravely injured. And off went his head. When the growls were over, Faye realized she'd screamed.
Faye's scream echoed through the park, but he didn't turn to face her. He dropped the head on the ground, blood dripping from his hands. He managed to wipe a hand clean enough to pull out his cellphone and flip it open to call someone. "Amy. Come get Faye. She's at the park and she needs medical attention. And don't ask her about what happened." He shut the phone and slid it into his pocket, then went to collect arm, head and body. He had to take care of these. Burn them so the monster can't ever come back.
Amy picked up the phone right away. "I'm on my way." She got her parents' car and drove as fast as she could to the park. Faye barely registered what Max had said. She felt too tired, too numb now. She slumped to the ground, face down so her sobs would be muffled, but they were the only sounds so she wasn't having much luck with that. So this was what it felt like? It was horrible! Her arm felt as if was being pricked by thousand needles at the same time. "Max? It hurts." She whispered, so low a human ear wouldn't have been able to hear it.
"Amy is coming. She has something back at her house that will make the pain go away." She was lucky. The vampire wanted to drink, not to Turn her. Otherwise it would be a completely different problem. He still didn't turn to face her. He couldn't face her. He was covered in blood and she had just witnessed him at his worst. He took the body and parts and left. He'd pick up his car later. He could hear Amy's car coming so he knew Faye would be safe.
"Okay." Faye stayed there focusing on her arm. It was easier than thinking about what had just happened. Maybe later, but not now, or she'd just... No, just no. She didn't protest when he left because, even though she was ashamed of it, he wasn't exactly what she wanted to see right then. Next thing, she knew, Amy was helping her into her car, murmuring soothing things like: 'Everything will be alright.' 'It's over', 'You're safe'... She kinda passed out after that, just opening her eyes every ten minutes or so, confused, because then she was in a hospital, and she didn't want to be there. It'd be a long day.
Max didn't go see Faye later. He went to see Amy. He had taken care of the body and washed and bandaged his own wounds and fed so that he would be alright in the hospital. He went in and sat down by Amy, feeling like a sinner in a confessional. He quietly explained everything to her. When he was done, "I need you to look after her. I'm going to stay away from school for a few days. Give her time to...deal with it. And I need to scout out and make sure he was a lone vampire and not part of a coven." He took in a deep breath and let it out. "I owe you one, Amy. I do. If you can just keep her safe while I'm doing all this, I'll make sure it's worth it, okay? I promise."
Amy listened to all he said, as any good friend would. She could be a very good friend when she wanted. She gave him a soft look. "I can do that. I think you're doing the right thing." Her gaze shifted to the floor for a moment. "But you know she's not going to think that way, if you just poof."
Max gave a slight grunt. "Then tell her I had to take care of some things. Then it won't be 'just poofing', but at the same time she won't need to be freaked out that vampires are around." He took in a deep breath and let it out. "Damn it, Amy....I don't know what to do. She saw it all." He looked away. "Besides, when her parents catch wind of this...Well, I think it's good for me to get out on my search before her dad confronts me." He stood up and looked at Amy. "Just keep her safe and keep her happy. You are good at making people happy. Do things with her, okay? I'll help you with your homework so you can keep up if you need help."
