Amy looked at Faye, as if saying, 'is he for real?' Faye just smiled and mouthed, "You're on your own."
"Let's see, why do gods usually look humans for, huh?" She rolled her eyes at him. "Sheesh! I won't go into detail, got it?"
Faye was mistaking Max's thoughtful face with him thinking about leaving, but with her. Like the trip they'd planned, just that a bit earlier they'd expected. Her parents... well, they didn't have to know about the vampire. Hopefully her mom hadn't overheard.

Max stared at her. Then he facepalmed. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Whoops, breaking one of the rules already. "Amy, you don't have sex with gods!! ESPECIALLY not Cupid! Don't you remember what he did to Faye and I?! How can you have sex with him after all of that?! He's only in it for the pleasure and for himself, you're not going to get anything out of it! I want you to stay away from him, Amy, he's no good!" He ran his hands through his hand and started pacing. "This is ridiculous. I'm thrown in jail for trying to feed from an undercover cop, my cousin is sleeping with Cupid, and now I have a vampire after me!" He started packing up his bag again. "Well, at least I know one thing: There's no time to lose. If there's a Master Vamp after me, I have to go, now. Faye, I need you to tell your dad about this situation and explain to him why I had to leave. He can probably tell the court that some extremists tried to come after me and for my own safety I had to leave." He shook his head a bit. "Why now? Of all the times for a freaking vampire to come after me, why now?"
Both girls started talking at the same time. "Please! It's not like I love him, or anything! I'm not that naive! You're acting like a very annoying older brother, you know."
Faye balled her hands into fists. It didn't make her look very threatening, but she did feel better. "You're leaving without me? But, how will I even know if you'll ever come back? If you're safe? We can leave now and everything will be okay, I will just talk to-"
Amy cut her off, holding up her hand. "No, wait, Faye. He's got to do this alone. This is dangerous stuff, besides, you don't want to witness another vampire fight, do you?"

Max grabbed Amy by the chest and yanked her close. "If you're not that naive then what the hell are you doing it for?" he whispered dangerously. "If you're just doing it for the hell of doing it, then let's do it. Right here, right now. After all, we're not really related. Not close enough to be illegal. And if you'd do it with a god, then why not me?"
Max wasn't serious, of course. But he was calling her bluff. He was getting sense into her in the only way she'd accept it. "If you just want the pleasure, there's plenty of male whores walking the streets, Amy. If you just want a friend, you've got a damn good one standing right here. If you're looking for someone to love, a god is not a good place to start." He let her go, roughly, and turned away to finish packing. "I'm going alone. I can't contact you, I can't leave anything that'll trace me back to here. Your parents will have to set up a barrier or something or wipe my scent so he can't come here. Faye, I can't take you with me. That vampire from before, he was low-class. This is a Master vampire. He'll rip your heart out of your body and eat it in front of me just because he can."

This was one of the very few times Amy had actually been scared of Max, ever. And very angry too. Her face was bright red because of it. "You're such a jerk!" She stormed off upstairs again. Yes, he was right, but she was still hurt.
Faye was left staring at him, before she too, left after he'd explained just how blood-thirsty were these Master vampires. Things were bad, and he wasn't changing his mind. She was sure of that. The mental image would now be added to the collection that haunted her when she went to sleep. Great.
"Amy?"
"She's in your room. She was crying, Faye. Tell me right now what's going on, miss." Her mother blocked her path.
"Max is leaving, and Amy is sad. Can I just please go see if she's okay?"
After some hesitance from her mother, she let her go upstairs to her room.

Max went upstairs with his bag and explained everything to her parents. "I'll get in contact with you all as soon as I can, but right now this is the only way to keep Faye safe. If there's a Master Vampire after me, then I don't want him anywhere near Faye. They don't hesitate to kill. They'll kill first and flaunt it in front of you after." He rubbed his face and glanced up the stairs. "...I should apologize before I go." Just in case something did happen to him.
The two parents were not at all happy with the turn of events, but they couldn't argue against keeping their daughter safe, even if that didn't sit well with her.
"I understand." Faye's father put his arm around his wife. "And good luck, kid. Don't take this wrong, but don't come back with more problems than those you have now, okay?" He cracked a halfhearted smile, more for his wife's sake. "Go."

Max forced a smile. "I won't. I promise." He went upstairs and knocked on the door. "..Faye? Amy? Is it safe to come in?" He wanted to just come in and say goodbye, and apologize. If they let him, he'd step in. "I'm sorry, Amy. I shouldn't have been so mean. I just...I care a lot about you. I want the best for you, you know? I'm sorry." He gave her a hug. "...I'll try to come back as soon as I can." He looked to Faye, then. This would be the hardest goodbye.
"Yes, it's safe," Amy groaned, getting up from the bed where she had been curled up. "I hate you, but I'll miss you." She patted his back, and sighed. "You're forgiven. But you made me ruin my make up. I'm gonna... You know." She made a quick exit to the bathroom, both to give them privacy and to fix her face.
Faye was at the other end of the room, near the window, just quietly thinking, until he'd apologized and said goodbye to Amy. "Have you made sure you're not leaving anything behind? It will be sad if you're, say in Alaska, and you remember you forgot your sweater."

Max walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. "...I'm leaving one thing behind." He leaned his head against hers. "..my heart." It was cheesy, but then again, he was from a more cheesy era. "...I'm sorry. I would take you with me if I could, but...if anything happened to you, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. That and your parents would kill me." He closed his eyes. "...I'll let you know as soon as things are safe. But...it might...take time. A couple months, a few months, I don't know. But I'll contact you the very moment I can. I swear it." He pulled away and looked at her. "In the meantime, I need you to stay away from Jake and make safe choices. And...look after my house for me, okay? I doubt he'll go near it with the cops all over the place, but I need you to keep it safe from both of them. That house is precious to me. I want you and your family to take care of it for me while I'm gone, okay?" He hesitated, then kissed her forehead. "Be a good girl for your parents. Maybe get a job to keep yourself busy, save up for our trip. We're going, still. I promise."
Faye gave in, burying her face into the crook of his shoulder, unable to hold back tears. In a couple of months... By that time, she'll have graduated, and probably be attending a local college. She nodded when he asked her to look after his house. She would. "I will. I don't know where I'll work at, though." She squeezed his waist, not wanting to let go yet. It was too soon! Everything... everything was happening too fast. If only there was a pause button. Faye knew it was time. She didn't say it, but perhaps it was all for a reason. It really was time to let go and move on. "I love you. And don't forget a sweater."
Max held her tightly. "Shh...it's okay. I'll be back, Faye, I promise. Just...hold on." He pulled back to look her in the eyes. "I love you too. Give me three months, okay?" He lifted his fingers. "Three months. If I don't contact you within three months, then...you can go be happy with Jake or someone, okay? But give me three months." He leaned in to press a soft kiss to her lips. "I love you more than I've ever loved anyone before. Just be strong, okay? You're a big strong girl with good eyes, now. There's a world out there for you to see in three months, so...enjoy it while I'm gone, okay? Have all the girl-nights you want. Because when I get back, you're all mine." He smiled softly.
Faye smiled. That didn't sound bad at all. She could be okay in those three months. She would not wallow, or cry. She would be happy and wait for him. "That I am," She laughed a little, and even though her eyes were glassy because of the tears, she still stared to make sure she'll have a nice memory of this moment, not just the sad part. "But I'm not going to be happy with Jake or anyone that is not you, okay? So you better do come back, or I'll go looking for you." She wiped her cheek with the back of her hand. "Before you go... I wanted you to take the scrapbook with you." She nodded at the nightstand, where it lay open at a random page.
Max looked at her scrapbook. "...Faye, I can't take that.." He looked at it, then looked back at her. "I want you to keep it, so that you can start getting our trip ready. I want you to look through it and make a list, what you want to see the most, and then prioritize it. We have to have somewhere to start after all, you know?" He leaned in to kiss her again. He ran a hand through her hair, then gave a light tug. It would just be a tiny pinch to her, but he pulled away a strand of her hair. "Don't think I'm a creep, alright? But I'll take this. Vampires rely a lot on the sense of smell. This will keep your smell with me so I can remember you." He smiled. "This way I'll always be thinking of you. I'll be back before three months are over. I promise." He gave her one last kiss, and then he pulled away. He looked at her for a moment, then grabbed his bag. "Three months. I love you." And then he was gone.
(So, there's lots of ways we could make this go. Any you had in mind? X3)

She might have insisted in him taking it but with a tiny wince, she realized he'd taken a strand of her hair to remember her. Well, that could work better than the scrapbook, she thought. "I don't mind. I've gotten used to it."
Faye answered to every kiss he gave her as though they were the last ones. After the last one, he pulled away from her, and she let him. "Love you. Bye." She sat on the windowsill, hoping to see him leave, walking down the street. She'd be eighteen in two weeks. That reminded her, she had never asked him when his birthday was. She made a mental note to ask him in three months.
(Hahaha I just dived into this before thinking Okay, let's see... Faye could go on with her plans of college, summer job and all, while Max encounters a few vampires here and there, until bam! He fights the one that is supposed to be the Master, but maybe later it turns out it wasn't him but a decoy. Because, remember the fiance he killed? Maybe this vampire is her uncle that just found out about Max and wants revenge for his niece? He could pop up later in the rp )

(Sounds good! Should he take longer than three months or should he come back on time?)
(Yay! Three and a half? :o -Don't hit me Faye!)
(Lol! Ok x3 Should it be a time skip?)
(We could each post something about what they've been doing in those three months and then we jump to when he arrives, if you want )
(Ok!)
Max hated being away from her. Even more, he hated fighting vampires. He had to let his dark side take over. For months, it was just endless violence, hunting, following clues. The hair of Faye's got lost before his first fight, and she quickly slipped from his mind while he was his darker self. Finally, the big battle came. Max came out on top, but at great cost. He was holed away to heal for nearly a month. During that month, the memory of Faye slowly started to return. How much time had passed since he left? He needed to contact her soon. But he was still too weak.
