"Upstairs. Yes, you may see her, but don't distract her too much. She can't be late for work," she reminds him, pointing a finger at him as a warning.
This was the typical early afternoon in the Woods' house. Uncle visiting and watching basketball on the TV, father gone to work, and Raven preparing lunch before leaving for the restaurant.

Max blinked. Oh, right. Work. He nodded. "Don't worry, I'll make sure she's on time." He headed upstairs and knocked on the door. "Faye? Hey, I just wanted to come by and see you before work." He smiled a little bit. "...how are you doing?" He really wanted things to be okay between them. She meant so much to him.
Faye paused mid putting her shirt on. "Wait! Wait! Just a second!" When she was finished, she opened the door, moving to give him a hug but stopped, and locked her hands behind her back. "Hi. I'm alright. Just kind of tired. Wish I could've slept more, you know. You?" She kept to normal conversation, trying to keep it light, because she too was unsure of where they stood.
Max didn't open the door. He waited patiently, then smiled a little. "Yeah. I feel alright. I slept for a while. Sorry." He hugged her gently, then let go and moved back. "I don't want to keep you from work, but I wanted to see you." He smiled and took in a deep breath, then slowly let it out. "You'll have a great time. And I'll see you later, alright?"
"Are you sure you feel okay? You can tell me." She smiled slightly when he hugged her, and then leaned against the doorframe, looking ashamed. "I'm really sorry for yesterday. I shouldn't have been so upset, later, instead of trying to understand." Faye gave a small shrug. "We'll work around this, and everything will be fine. I'll see you later!"
Max nodded. "I'm feeling better than before, I promise." When she apologized for yesterday, he smiled gently. "...thank you. We will work through this, Faye. I know it. Have a good time at work." He gave her one more hug, then watched her leave. He sighed slightly. Well. At least he didn't have to be around her too much since she worked.
She nodded eagerly, confident they would. Outside, another guy who went to school with them waited for her, who was not Jake, by the way, because even though he was normal again, Faye had kept her distance. He was the library's owner's son, and just gave her a hand with the ride there sometimes when their schedules matched. Before leaving, her mother handed her a bag with some food for her, really hoping this time Faye would eat it. She'd not been eating well and that worried her.
(Sorry, life got crazy Dx)
Max watched as she was taken by a man. Max frowned slightly, watching from the window. "...who's that?" he asked Raven curiously. "...has he been coming here the whole time I was away?" He didn't like this. But then he pulled away and sighed, rubbing his face. He shouldn't be so upset. He should let her find love in a normal person. "I guess I have my own problems to worry about right now."

(Totally understandable *thumbs up* Huh, but we need Max and Faye to have some bonding time. Ideas?)
"Not everyday. Just when Amy can't pick her up," Faye's mom explained, giving him a small kitchen knife. "Don't look so worried and chop the vegetables."
Contrary to what Max thought, these trips to the library were silent at best, awkward at worst. Faye liked to talk, but the guy wasn't a very talkative person and usually answered with one word replies, which was fine when she was in a thoughtful mood, like that day.

(Max would pull something romantic like a picnic, but only at Raven's prodding)
Max took the knife and nodded, skillfully chopping up the vegetables. He had them all done rather quickly. After all, life mainly alone, as half human, made him a pretty good chef. "So...what do you think I should do, Mrs. Raven? I have to work on keeping the vampire part of me down...but that could be rocky. I'm not quite sure how to start, except for less blood and no violence."

(She will prod )
Raven took the tray of chopped vegetables to put them in a pot, and left a candy for him, as a reward for the chopping. "Perhaps instead of concentrating in what makes you a vampire, you should concentrate on what makes you human, on work from that." She smiled, quite proud of her advise.

(X3)
Max glanced at the woman, then at the candy. He picked it up and twirled it between his fingers as he contemplated it. "...what makes me human?" he repeated. There were many things that made him human. Eating real food, being immersed in the human culture, feeling compassion and kindness... But most of all, what made him human was...Faye. He popped the candy in his mouth and nodded slightly. "That might work."

The woman finished with the steak and took off her apron. "It will work. So as long as you do something, you'll be fine. Oh, and make sure it's something nice. If you need any help, I'm here." She looked at her watch. "Getting late. Huh, they'll gonna have to figure out the rest." Before leaving, Raven stopped at the doorframe. "Faye's shift ends at six. I don't like her walking alone, and that other man isn't any better. You could bring her home." She lifted a finger. "But you know the rules," she reminded him, so that his vampire side wouldn't get any funny ideas.
Max listened to her and nodded. "Do something...got it." Something nice. Like what? While he was thinking, she spoke of picking up Faye. "Alright." When she warned about the rules, he nodded. "I promise." He watched her leave, then sat down to consider what he could do for Faye that would be nice and would remind him of his human side. As he stared at the fridge, the idea came. A picnic! It would be perfect. He smiled, and then suddenly got another idea! It would have to wait until Faye had a day off, so maybe on the weekend. But he could take her to an amusement park. That would definitely help him get in touch with his human side, and it would be a lot of fun for Faye too!
Once at the library, Faye would have never in a million years imagined Max was doing plans for them. She did think maybe her mother had held him hostage there to cook. She smiled and book fell on her head. People came and went. There was the occasional group that stayed a while longer to read a book, but it was four out of ten. At the end of her shift, she was starving. Despite the food in her bag, by that time she would eat and probably ask for second helpings. Books made her hungry, for some reason. She turned off all the lights and closed the door, thinking about walking to her mom's restaurant.
Max was waiting on the steps outside when she came out. He smiled at her. "Hey, Faye. How was work?" He took her hand and led her over to...a car! The motorcycle was tucked safely in his garage. Right now, he had a car. Naturally, it was a Mustang. Jet black, of course. Once she was in, he got in as well and turned on the car. "Hope you didn't have anything planned for a bit, because I'm stealing you." He smiled a little. "With your parents' permission, of course."
Faye blinked. Max had come pick her up. "H-Hey. It was okay." She got into the car, surprised about that too. "Noope. I didn't have any plans." She put the seatbelt on, looking at him. "How come you bought a car?" As soon as she got home she'd give her parents a big hug. That was for sure. "And where exactly are you stealing me to?"
