Faye recognized the smell of his car and sat confortably on the passenger's seat. She nodded at him. "Pizza sounds good. So it's this like some kind of second date?" She asked curiously. It was easier for her to just ask about stuff when she couldn't see the person she was talking to.
Max rubbed the side of his neck. "...kind of." It was more of a 'let's have a good time before you run away screaming' thing, but it wouldn't be good to tell her that just yet. When they got to his house he led her inside and sat her at the couch again, then went to call for pizza. When it was ordered, he sat beside her. "So Faye, what happened last night at your house?"
"Oh, okay." She said when he answered her question. Once she was sitting on his couch, she listened as he ordered the pizza, then smiled. "You tell me what you are first." Hers wasn't a secret, really, but it had worked well to her advantage.
Max sighed. "I'll tell you mine after pizza." He smiled softly. "So what do you want to do until the pizza arrives, Faye? Since we apparently aren't swapping secrets until afterwards."
Faye crossed her arms leaning back. "Well, there has to be much more to you than just this secret." She smiled and lifted her legs onto the couch, sitting crosslegged on it. "Have you ever had a girlfriend?"
Max blinked. Interesting question she decided to ask. "...kind of. I don't know if it counts as a girlfriend if there weren't any real feelings going on." Just real feeling. He leaned back against the couch as well and looked at the blank TV screen.
"I guess it doesn't count." She pursed her lips together. Faye could not see him but she felt like there must have been more to it. Anyways, she smiled. "Now you ask something."
"Hmm...alright. What is your favorite song, Faye?" He waited patiently. Asking what her favorite color was would be kind of jerkish. So he just asked some auditory things.
She thought about it for a minute and then smiled. "Demons, by Imagine Dragons. Yours?" This question game could be a good way to pass the time until the pizza arrived.
Max tapped his chin. "Iris, by the Googoo Dolls." He glanced at her and smiled. "So...what's your favorite pasttime, Faye?" This was indeed a good way to pass the time, and he got to learn more about her.
"Really?! I love the version they sing it with Avril Lavigne!" She smiled even more and replied to his question without thinking. "Cooking. I like preparing desserts, or just regular food, and when not doing that, listening to music."
Max smiled. The song was ironically fitting. 'I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand' fit him fairly well. "Cooking, hmm? That sounds like fun." Just then, the doorbell rang. He got to his feet. "THat's the pizza. Just a minute." He went and got it, paid the man, then set the pizza down and got them drinks. "What kind of soda would you like?"
"Okay." Faye rested her hands on her lap as he took the pizza and paid the man, waiting patiently. "A Coke will be fine." She said when he asked, getting she smell of hot pizza. "That smells good."
Max smiled a bit and nodded. "Alright." He took a can of coke and a piece of pizza, and brought it over to her, putting her hands on it so that she could eat. "Alright, here we go. Eat up." He sat down and munched on the pizza himself. He'd eat some blood later so that he would be alright.
"Thanks." She said taking a sip from her Coke, just imagining first, what was it that he would tell her. She soon finished her pizza. "Extra cheese, right?"
Max ate the pizza as well, and took care of their dishes when they were done. "Yeah, I thought you might like it." He put the dishes away and walked over, sitting down beside her again. "Ready for the secret?"
Faye was sipping from her Coke when she felt the couch dip under his weight. "Yeah, it can't be that bad. I promise I'll hear you out even if it is that bad."
Max hesitated for a moment, and set a hand on her shoulder. "I'm a vampire." he said softly. "An odd one, but still work with the blood-drinking and whatnot." He was watching her carefully, very carefully.
Faye nodded slowly. "Oh, okay. A vampire... that's not weird." She smiled a little but then frowned. "You're not going to bite me, right?" She just had to ask that. Faye's cheeks were a little pink, she was just a bit scared with the revelation, but not scared enough to send her screaming out of the house.
Max smirked a little and brushed a finger along his neck. "Not unless you want me to." he teased. "But no, I won't bite you." Most likely. Hopefully. There was always the possibility of losing control, but she would probably know that.
