Carnage (played anonymously)

The abandoned slaughterhouse was sure decked out for a place that wasn’t even supposed to have power but who gave a rat’s behind about how, right? Various lights were strung up to draw attention to the place, with gruesome looking ‘decorations’ almost haphazardly littering the area. A big red sign above the door stated that there was free candy inside.

The interior smelled heavily of copper and was poorly lit with only an old claw-footed bathtub set a little further in being illuminated. The tub was filled with whole bags of candy corn and the sorts of sweets that no one actually liked.

Carnage himself was sitting up above the door with a wicked grin that would have looked more at home on a pumpkin than any living thing’s face. He knew the ‘rules’, not that he cared for them but scaring the daylights out of some brats and mentally scarring them for life sounded like a real scream. That and he’d promised Shriek he wouldn’t have too much fun without her. Contrivances aside, he was ready for the night.
Valencea crept toward the creepy looking building. As it grew closer, she grew even more suspicious. That blood did not look fake.
But it also had lights and decoration, and apparently some candy, which would be good to bring with her when she travelled.
So Valencea continued, jumping about a foot in the air when she saw the wide-jawed, sharp grin on the host's face. He looked like something from a comic book, or a horror story of some kind.
She narrowed her eyes. Certainly, bad things existed in this world, and certainly this looked dangerous, but she had already decided to get the candy. And she had a shotgun. And a knife. And some really fluffy bunny ears.

She walked towards the grinning guy, and straightened before greeting him politely.
"Hello, uh... Sir, Happy Halloween. It's good weather tonight, isn't it? Um, that says there's free candy?"

She shuffled a little. Maybe there would be candy corn.
What a special time of the year it was. Halloween was the perfect time to go out and actually do some filming -- especially when ghosts, anomalies, and other such beings roamed more freely among mortals. There was a large smile plastered on Denzel's face as he made some last minute adjustments to his camera, swapping out lenses and making sure that it had been on a setting that allowed him to film well enough in dim or dark areas.

While the man himself had not really dressed for the occasion, he had appreciation for the people and their children that did. It was just a fun ordeal overall -- especially when there were those that put the most of their love of the craft into their decoration, costuming, and makeup.

Pausing in his tracks, Denzel's attention went to something that caught his eye. There were some strung up lights and a rather... perhaps haphazard set of decorations that lined the area. Intrigued by this particular display, Denzel readied his camera and walked up the pathway. It was when he spotted the bathtub full of candies that an amused scoff escaped his lips.

It seemed that this was here for anyone brave enough to approach a rather empty and conspicuous trick or treating spot. Shaking his head, Denzel set to work, he took a few pictures before he went into 'vlogger mode' to point out the area and make some commentary about this place he was just now passing and getting a look at.

Carnage let out a laugh as he pointed an claw at his first trick or treater for the night. “Should have seen the look on your face, sweetie. I’d tear it off and show you but ol’ Carnage really needs to get rid of some candy corn so make yourself useful.” He said making a gesture towards the tub of candy. “Heh.” He took a look outside briefly. ”Well would you look at that, it is nice out. How boring.” He shrugged, leaning against the doorway to one side.

Carnage hadn’t seen too many trick or treaters yet, the location likely had something to do with it but he was too stubborn to just go roaming even if bored.

The red monster would grin all the wider with someone new eventually approaching, keeping out of sight above the door. He waited, patient enough to bide his time before trying to give the newest guest a good fright.
Valencea scowled at the trickster. Mocking her! Anyone would be stupid not to be wary! ....Even if he had gotten the jump on her. Hmmf. Well, alright then. She stepped forward, unsure whether she should look at him or not as she passed. She scooped up some candy corn, glancing at the walls (dusty), the bathtub (rusty), and the scary fellow at the door (scary). She put the candy corn into a pocket of her backpack, grabbed one of the peanut butter toffees for the road, and walked away from the tub.
As she shuffled by the host in the doorway, she was struck with a strange sort of compulsion. She passed him, gave an awkward little bow, and met his eye. She managed not to shiver. Then she hopped off the porch and nodded, turning back towards the road. The night was young, after all.....
