When browsing characters it can often be difficult to tell whether the owner of it is actually active on the site. This is especially true when it comes to anon chars. There have been a number of occasions when I saw a character that interested me, but didn't pm the owner because I couldn't tell if they were active or not.

I often check their latest postings, but it's not the best thing to rely on since it doesn't tell anything about pms so a player can appear to be dead, but have merely been communicating entirely through pm.

Maybe you could have a little icon that says either active or inactive and it shows up on member's profiles and their anon chars.

I suppose a person could opt to disable this feature and Kim could decide how long it takes from someone to go from Active to Inactive.

Your thoughts?

I would recommend PMing them whether they appear active or not. Remember that many, many people have their settings set to send them an email when they receive a PM, so it's entirely possible that someone will log back into the site and respond even if they haven't done anything in months.

If they turn out not to be active for real, you've lost about two minutes, and no harm done at all! :D

@Sanne That was more for if a chracter was active not if the owner was active.

@Kim I suppose.
Maybe that would help you: here.

Edit: I should have checked Sanne's link before. Haha.
