Yeah, I'm weird. But recently, I figured I could do with a good survival kit, for the inevitable. I need a central idea on what to get for the said kit, I thought of Glow Sticks, MRE's, and maybe a Medkit. But what necessities should be in the Medkit? Does anyone want to help?
Probably depends what you want to be prepared for. I like to keep a Get Home Bag/Kit in the trunk of my car in case I'd get stranded in a snow storm or similar on my way home from work and decide to hoof it the rest of the way home.
This includes a pair of boots, boot socks, rain poncho, moisture wicking undershirt, a few bottles of water, Lifestraw, crackers, general first aid kit (I bought one of the ready-made ones... looks like it has a bunch of different sized band aids, sterile wipes, gauze.), pocket knife, $20 (cause I hardly ever carry cash!), one of those flashlights that you shake to charge it up, allergy meds, aspirin, and a lighter.
I've never had a true emergency, but it's amazing how many times the bag has come in handy. I just struggle to remember to rotate the water and crackers every few months. Now that I say... probably been 6 months or so! I'm overdue!

Eh... I'm pretty sure we're all weird, honey.
Humor first:
I've heard of people buy fish medicine for their survival kits. No, seriously--it's a thing! Fish-Mox and Fish-Cillin.
Here's an article about it that I must admit
cracks me up
No, but, of course I don't recommend doing that (only because some antibiotics can go bad over time, it would take research), but I would say...aspirin, ibuprofen, bandages, something to kill germs on wounds, like 70% alcohol, a knife, a way to start fire, and maybe fishing equipment. And all the stuff the last person said.
I did go through a phase once and I put together a kit like that, with a kinetic powered flashlight and wind up emergency radio, etc. I don't know where I put it now. Oops.
Have fun.

i wouldn't store medicine in there for the sheer fact it expires in the long term so if you make this in good ol' 2k19 and this all goes down in 2k30, a lot of that stuff has either lost its effect or became a lot more dangerous
but also i read this and thought zombie apocalypse and you might think 'oh what if i get into a car crash in the woods during my next weekend hike?" so uh

Even canned foods expire.
