Best of luck to all who are. I wish ya nothing but the best, but out of curiosity, who isn't participating around here?
That would be me, I suppose. I think it's a great idea, it just never fits into my schedule.

Me either. I tried a couple times in years past, but gave up on the whole concept.

I do like the fact so many are into it though.

I have way to much going on. Couple that with adhd and i never get anywhere. Id rather spend time worldbuilding abd rping than write a book.
I've never tried it. Really never even heard of it until a year or two ago. When I say 'NaNoWriMo' in my head, it sounds like baby talk. (Probably a terrible thing to judge the entire event on, but there ya have it! ;) )
Just note that what you word count for nanowrimo doesn't have to be a book! I know some people who are trying to write 50k words of RP posts, blog posts, journal entries. A lot of people count anything creative they write in November towards the 50k words. ^-^ and some people also go with personal goals like 10k instead of 50k.
I’ve got enough roleplays to keep myself easily motivated. Tbh, I don’t get NaNoWriMo. It seems like motivation to get people to write... who are already writing.

Honestly, I think a more valuable commodity is reading, and people don’t do enough of it.

You didn't ask for my experience but I will say for me personally nanowrimo gets me actually focused. I don't normally write so quickly or excitedly but during nanowrimo I write every day 2-4k words, am excited about it and feel supported in my passion. Where as I don't usually.

Also in my region/area there are tons of in-person writing meet ups where we sit together and write, talk, and get little stickers and pins/buttons. And fee super supported and happy. ^-^

Before nanowrimo and meeting all the people in my area I was isolated for years and often felt very alone in my love for writing.

It's like that for a lot of people who do nanowrimo. The community aspect is the biggest draw for most, the motivation to write more than they do the other 11 months of the year and get to brag about it and be cheered on is the second.

^-^ but I do agree that reading is very important and I do believe there is a book/reading month too. 🤔
I actually didn't know it was a thing until very recently, but I don't have the time or energy to participate. I'm tired often and even have difficulty finding time for my hobbies so :)

I was planning to, but life events are having me always feeling tired. That makes me unfocused, and there's no way thato I'd find the concentration and energy to participate. I need to focus primarily on my art studies anyway, but good luck to everyone who is participating :)
Just found out about it recently, and I was interested until I realised that I will be having exam for the entire month ;w;
I really wanted to do it in some form this year, but my mental health has really hit the shitter and I also realised that my work is shit and that I will be taking some courses, so that's not gonna happen.

I'm to busy with poems songwriting and unbelievable roleplays I got going.
I’ve always wanted to do NaNoWriMo, but I never end up doing it. My life is usually too busy this time of year, and my inspiration is too fickle, for me to churn out 50,000 words in November alone. Plus this year I’ve got a bunch of mental health stuff piled up that I have to deal with, and it’s sapping my creativity even more.

My inability to write 50k words in a month does make me wonder if I’ll ever finish the actual book I’m trying to write, though... I try not to think about it. It’s probably just another mountain I’ve made of a molehill.
I've long since fallen out of love with being a professional writer, so I don't have a reason to participate in NaNoWriMo. That doesn't stop me from roleplaying, though! Besides, I'm far more interested in drawing and other visual pursuits to begin with.
I wasn't gonna do NaNo this year, but I've still written more on personal stories this month than I usually do...
So, maybe I really am doing it? Who knows.

I used to use NaNo mainly as an excuse to find writing buddies. Found two of my best friends through it several years ago. Haven't lately, though.
I'm not...but it seems like a great excuse to meet fellow writers. Just--no time.
