Zoe didn't expect that and quickly caught Jacob before he could hit the ground. She had a hard time figuring out what to do so she decided to just take him to her bunk. It wasn't too hard to care his weight and she gently set him on the bed. She sat down beside his body, worried if he was alright. She checked for his pulse and if he was breathing.
She was so glad when he woke up, concern in her eyes. She didn't want to think that just after she made a friend that he had died so quickly. "Are you alright? What happened, Jacob?" She asked, looking at him.

"I... I had a relapse... I remembered things," Jacob stared up. He was, if anything, not in a good shape. His eyes were red, his mouth dry, his head hurt, and he was shaking, still. He was also sweaty, too. It wasn't that good. "I remembered things I never wanted to remember again... Vladimir, Justin, Matt... The Mutant, the bombs, everything.
I saw all the people I killed, all the people who died, and all those I couldn't save. I watched what their lives could've been, and what their lives never will be. I looked at my wife, who left me on my wedding day, the day when the bombs dropped."
He looked like he was about to cry, and he just might. His eyes had an empty look to them, staring up and his lip trembling. He was breathing slowly, shallow, but nothing to be concerned of. His mouth was open a bit, but not too much.

Zoe listened to what he said and felt sorry for him. Before he could say anything more she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. She didn't know how to comfort people very well but she always tried her best. "Its alright now. It is all over, you don't have to go through that again." She whispered in his ear, holding him tightly. She was trying her best to calm him down.
"I can't say I understand how you feel, but I know it had to hurt. All these wars caused so much pain for everyone and some of us have to relive it everyday. We just all need to get through this, we need to fix the world that he destroyed. Then, we will be able to move on with our lives and actually feel happy again." She said, keeping her voice calm and gentle. She just wanted to help him and get this all over with, so then she could let her father rest in peace and help fix her family again. She couldn't forgive herself for what she did to her family, leaving them they way she did when they all needed her most but she had ran out of time and had no other choice.
She closed her eyes tightly, the flashes of her mother and sisters, all of them crying over her grave that didn't hold her body, she remembered all of their faces and all of their tears, she never went a day without praying that they were safe and would forgive her, not once in the past three years. "This has to all end some day, the pain won't completely leave us but it will be duller once this place is fixed."

Jacob hugged her back, tears flowing from his eyes as he clinged to the last thing that could comfort him. He wouldn't do anything to hurt her because of this. She had comforted him when no one could. She might attempt to comfort him, and it might work. "It's... I can't stop thinking of it. I never want to think of those thoughts again!"
He listened to her talk, and hugged her tighter than before. She was nice to him, when no one else could be. Just like that song, In The Flesh, no one understood him until now. Even his father, who had gone out to war when he was a kid, never understood him, and never left him anything. His mom never understood, and never really cared. And that's what hurt him from day one.
He almost remembered things, but didn't want to. "Its just that, since day one, no one understood me. My dad died in the war, but all I got was another photo in the scrap book. My mother was overprotective, and never cared. The teachers? They were horrible... Don't leave me, Zoe. I'm such a mess, and I need help."

Zoe nodded. "I know how you feel there. Every night I pray that family is okay and that my father can rest if peace. I have done this for the past three years straight and my only hope is that they can forgive for leaving them when they need me most." She sighed, trying to keep from tears rolling down her eyes. Her family didn't fully understand her, only her father did but her mother tried to. All her friends betrayed her after they thought she watched them all fake sadness at her funeral and act as though nothing had happened afterwards, they didn't even try to help her family.
She hid her face in the crock of her shoulder and neck, trying to keep herself calm as best as she could. She didn't hate her friends for what they did, she didn't have to time or care to hate them and she really didn't have it her heart to hate them. She didn't like what they did but she didn't forgive them, just didn't like them.
"All my friends betrayed me and my family. They didn't care that I was dead and didn't try to help my family through all of their troubles. My father was the only person who understood me at all, then he left me, my sisters, and my mother alone to fend for ourselves. I have six younger sisters, I went out and got a job to help my mother buy food and pay for rent. We didn't get a lot of money from my father's death, just enough for a proper funeral." She clung tighter to him, choking down her tears as the memories flooded back to her. "I won't, I promise. We will get through this together. We can fix what has been messed up and we can finally be happy again." She took a deep breath in, trying to calm down.

Jacob listened to her talk, and thought about the wonderful things in life. He thought about all the times he had fun, and he thought about all the good things people said to him. It was a good feeling that filled him, and he didn't want that to end. He just closed his eyes, and hugged her tighter, not letting go. Both of them needed, desperately needed, comfort. And they both provided it.
"Zoe, don't cry. I don't think I will be able to take that," Jacob said, and looked up at her. She was pretty, he had to admit, and she didn't mind him. That was good. But what he liked about her was her personality. It was nice, comforting, and wonderful. They would get through this together.
Jacob fell asleep hanging on to her, and he assumed she did the same thing, because when he woke up, he was still hugging her, and he was against the wall of her dorm. His eyes had cleared up, and it seemed like the afternoon, but he didn't care.

Zoe couldn't help it when her mind wandered to those memories that always hit her hard in the gut and played with her heart. She took a deep breath, trying to calm down the best she could. She looked up at him and smiled gently. She still held on to him, not wanting to let go.
She nodded. "I'm trying not to." She said, biting her lip. She closed her eyes, not realizing that she was falling asleep in Jacob's arms. She was just trying to forget the past until the time called for it. She was glad that he was here for her, she really hadn't trusted anyone in so long and lost so much so quickly.
Before she knew it, she fallen asleep wrapped in Jacob's arms. When she woke up, she was surprised to see him laying in her bed at such a late hour in the day. Her cheeks turned bright red she then quickly sat up. She didn't know what to say, only words that came out was a mumbled apologies.

Jacob noticed that Z got up, and she got up rather quickly, and for the life of him, he didn't know why. Perhaps she was scared? She didn't like him? Probably the first one, because she did like him. That, and they both were there for each other. He got up, too, cracking his joints. First his neck (he hit his head on the wall), then his back, and then his fingers, but his knees popped anyways when he sat up.
"Z, why are you apologizing? Did you do something wrong?" Jacob listened to her mumbled apologies, and thought that she shouldn't apologize unless she did something wrong. And this wasn't wrong, it was nice. It was the first time in years that he'd been near a girl who didn't want to kill him. He chuckled, and smiled.. "Hey, thanks. We needed this, you and me both."
And other than that, he didn't know what to say. Of course, he was thinking a helluva lot of things. For instance, he was confused why she was apologizing. For another, he was still thinking about how pretty she looked. That was his mind working wonders, though. And whether or not he cared about what he was thinking was another thing.

Z didn't sit up so fast out of fear, but out of shock. She remembered everything that happened that night, but she was expecting to have seen Jacob go to his room for sleep, not to be sleeping in her room. She was still blushing, mainly because she was in only a tank top and bowers, not the image she wanted to have put in Jacob's head.
"I-I don't k-know what else to s-say." She strutted, looking down at the ground. She didn't regret what had happened, she was glad that she was able to get to know Jacob better and knew that he could be trusted, it was clear in his eyes. That was always where Z looked, someone's eyes spoke volumes about them.
She smiled at him, looking into his bright blue eyes. Most people who had blue eyes had a chance of being two types of people, those who could be trusted and be honest to you or those who are cold and won't say a word to you. "Yeah, we both did need this. Thanks."

Jacob didn't care what she was wearing. Hell, he'd been fine with anything, really. It didn't make him think about her any different. She still was a soldier. A damn good looking soldier, but still. He guessed that she didn't want to give him too good of an image, though. That's just how people were, unfortunately. Didn't matter, though. He enjoyed that night.
"Hey, it's alright. You don't need to say anything. We only fell asleep together," Jacob wanted her trust, and he thought he would know how to do that. "Trust me, this is kept to ourselves. I won't tell anyone about this, you have my word,"
He turned his head towards the ground and looked at her, smiling. He patted her on the back, and got up, putting out a hand to help her stand. True, he was blushing, and a little surprised, but he was happy. Luckily for her, he was the kind of person who could be trusted with anything. "We did. Sorry, but don't you think we should get changed?"

Z worried more about how he will view her after this. She already had one guy in this unit that had a crush on her, she didn't need another one. More so one that she trusted as much as she did with Jacob. As long as those machines was up and running, her personal life was on hold. She didn't have many friends, she kept out of romantic relationships. She really never been in a relationship with another person romantically because she was worried about her family.
Z smiled at him and nodded. "That's good, if this got out, it wouldn't look good on either of us." She said, then took his hand. She stood up with his help and nodded. "Yeah. I just need to put my jeans back on and put on my sweat shirt back on." She said, picking her sweat shirt up and pulling a pair of jeans out of her closet.
"You should go ahead and get to your bunk before anyone sees you like that coming out of my room. More so Alex because he will come after you, guy is obsessed with me." She sighed, pulling her jeans on.

Jacob never had another relationship because of his first wife. Or, his first horrible experience. And he never really felt he could love anyone else because of that. Maybe it was because he didn't want his heart hurt again, or because he didn't want to loose someone again, but it didn't matter. That was in the past. Some way, some how, he'd make things better.
"Well, as you suggest, I should get back to my bunk, you should get real pants on, and I think I'll find you a bra somehow..." Jacob said, and he chuckled. He'd get her a bra if she wanted. She deserved much more, but that's what he could get her. "I'll see you at breakfast, hmm?"
Jacob walked out quietly, hoping that nobody would see him walk out of that room. If anyone did see him, he'd make up a damn good story as to why he was in there, and that would be that. So far, so good. He got to his room, and tried to open the door.

Z choose not to be in a relationship, she saw it as a distraction of what was important and had enough pain and heart ache, she didn't need to fall in love and only get hurt to add on to that. She knew how to act around guys and how to make friends, she just choose to keep everything to herself.
She shook her head. "Don't worry about it, I'll be fine. My sweat shirt covers everything up and bras usually just make breast stand out more than they should." She said calmly, like it was a matter of fact. "No, I am going to talk to the leader about letting us go to the place you were talking about in Chicago. Hopefully he will agree about it." She said, buttoning her jeans and then zipping them up.
Little did Z know, Alex had spotted Jacob leaving her bunk. He was a straight forward type of person. He came up to Jacob before he could open his door. "What were you doing in Z's bunk this early n the morning?" He asked, clearly not happy about it all. Z wasn't lying, Alex was obsessed with her and wanted to be with her in a romantic way. She had rejected him countless times and didn't tell him she was a girl, he figured out by spying on her.

Jacob had opened his door, after picking the lock for a bit. But he didn't go in. He just turned, and faced Alex. That's when his mind, on the spot, made up a good story that Alex just might believe. He wasn't nervous; he'd done this before countless times with the Russians. "I was asking her what she thought about the plan I made last night. Its rather nice. Want to hear it?"
Jacob had a straight face when he said that, a lesson he had learned from interrogating people. If he kept a straight face, nothing would be revealed through emotions. He also stared him in the eyes, casually, so as to not give away a lie, and didn't shake. He looked like he was telling the truth. Then he walked inside the room, grabbing his stuff. He took off his shirt, revealing battle scars all over him, and a rather nice figure.
He grabbed his jeans, and put them on, the brown leather belt stringing through the loops. On both ends there were holsters, and clips for his hammerless guns. He put on the ankle holster, and the ankle knife, then a white Tee-Shirt, a button up shirt that was unbuttoned, and his Bomber Jacket. It had his name, rank, and unit on it: First and Only, the God's Warriors. Then he put on his aviator, and got all his weapons ready to go.
He walked out of his room, and stood in the hallway, waiting for her to get out.

Alex glared at Jacob. He didn't but it so easily, mainly because he hated the fact of another man being in Z's bunk. "Just stay away from him. I know the truth about him, something you will never know." He growled then went to his bunk.
Zoe heard the loud slam of Alex's door next to her's and flinched. "Well, someone did see I can only hope he keeps his big mouth shut." She said with a sigh. She decided to change pants, putting on a pair of baggy camouflage jeans with large pockets on the sides of it, one of them held a pocket knife. She then put on her combat boots, concealing a switch blade in each boot. She had a gun hostler strapped to her left hip and then put her sweat shirt on, but this one had the sleeves cut off at the shoulder, revealing the large and deep scar on her left arm.
She stepped out of her room, a switch blade in her hand. She decided to stand outside of Jacob's bunk, waiting for him to get out of the room. She looked at the scar on her left arm and sighed, she would never go cliff diving again because of it. It was actually a turning point in her life, after that little accident, she decided to take her life in a new direction.
She looked up as she saw the door open to Jacob's bunk and stood up. She had been leaning against the wall. "Ready to go?" She asked.

"Am I? Hun, I'm ready as I'll ever be," And Jacob lit a cigarette, something he only did on special occasions such as this. He waved the the lighter for a bit, and then closed the top, putting it in his pocket. He held out an unlit cigarette for Z. "Want one?"
He looked over at Alex's dorm, and thought about it for a bit, but then said no. He wouldn't do that to the kid. Well, he might, but he didn't want to. Not right now. "Should I get him, too? Or..." Jacob wasn't too sure if he was going to bring him, but then shook his head. Not too good of an idea. Boy was protective of something he'd never get in his life.
"So, want are we gonna do, run this by the leader, and then go check it out? Cus I thought that was the plan," Jacob said, and scratched his head. "After we find the machine, I'm going to go public about this. Call a press conference, say what I need to say. With 5 billion people watching me, who ISN'T going to believe me?"

Z took the cigarette out of his mouth, threw it on the ground, and stomped on it. She didn't care much for smokers, no matter who they were. "No smoking, soldier." Now that they were in public, she was going to act cold and just like she did with anyone else. "While we are out in public around here, I have to act cold like I was when you first met me." She explained in a hush voice.
She looked over at Alex's bunk and shook her head. "No, let's not. He will only mess things up. It is better that we just go because anyone else comes, well, then it is hard to trust them to act right. Also, he is a suck up." She said, looking away from his bunk and heading towards the leader's cabin.
She stuffed her hands in her pockets, listening to his questions. "We have to talk to him about it and clear it with him. We have to make sure that it is alright with him before we can do anything. If he says no, well, then we take things into our hands." She said with a shrug.

"My... Cigarette..." Jacob stared at her in mock amazement, shaking his head. He understood, he just never had his cigarette tossed out of his mouth. Well, not since Vladimir used it to burn his ear real bad. That's partly why he had long hair. It hid his burns and such. Also, it went really damn well with his Aviators, which he never went without. In just as quiet of a voice, he looked at her, and said: "I know, just don't ever take my smokes away from me. Not very nice,"
"Fine. Not THAT I DON'T MIND HIM NOT COMING ALONG," Jacob said, raising his voice just enough for him to hear, and chuckled. Jacob followed her to the leaders cabin, mostly because he didn't know where it was. Also, he liked being with her.
"Okay. So, open the door then?" Jacob pointed at the door that obviously was the leader's cabin, and stepped back, letting her open the door. "If he says no, don't do it. He can do anything he wants to you. He can't do Sh!t to me. I'm untouchable,"

Z grinned. "This is no place for smokers, Robbins. Just as simple as that." She said, then held out her hand. "Either you give me the rest of your stash or leave it n your bunk, your choice, Robbins." She said with a shrug, still holding out her hand.
Z rolled her eyes. "Are you wanting him to come out and try to choke you?" She said with a sigh. She always seemed tired and annoyed with how much stress she is under with this arm gave her.
She opened the door and walked in, everyone did and the leader didn't care. "What do you want, Faye?" He asked, calling her by her last name. For the army, she put her name down as Zane Faye, but everyone just called her Z, expect the leader. "I will let my partner explain because it is his idea." She looked over at Jacob, giving him the floor.

"So, I think I know where they are hiding the machine. Central Chicago. That's right, the Nuclear Fallout sight. So, I got a pretty good idea where they would be hiding it: The White City, or in case you didn't know, MSI. So, what we need is your okay to go check it out, then I can pull a few strings and get the weaponry and ammo I need, and BAM. We just took out the government's best weapon against us,"
Jacob clapped his hands, feeling confident in himself. He had a smile on his face, and he knew that this was the place they had to go. To hell with the Canyon. That place didn't hold anything EXCEPT brainwashed people who just can't get enough of it. Really, whats so grand about the canyon? Everything, I guess.
He explained more of his plan to him, and then sat down on a swivel chair, spinning around, happy with himself. Maybe it was going to be easier.
"So? What do you think?"
