Leader listened to him and he already knew what to say once Jacob's little speech was done. "No. It is simple as this. I don't believe it is a good idea to go there with how things are now, I don't care if you can pull a few strings, you are both needed here." He said, but it was clear that he was only keep them their because he hated Z and didn't want her to be out of sight.

"That's bullshit!" She yelled, clearly not believing that. "What is wrong with right now? Everyone has nothing to do around here, the past three months I have been looking over blue prints and maps of the White House and every possible place that those machines could be. This could be our break through, we could finally have a chance at finding those machines and destroying them to end this madness." She glared at the leader as he stood up and walked over to her.

Hatred was filled in both of their eyes, a powerful hate that could kill any man who dare got in the way. Then, suddenly, the Leader slapped Z's cheek, hard and loud. "Don't talk out like that to me, Faye. You don't belong in this army but if I was to remove you, it bring on a up roar so I keep you here to keep peace. You are both needed here, end of story, now leave my cabin." He growled at her, while she held her cheek, still glaring at him. He leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Once all of this is over, you will be the first to die in this war, I will make sure of that. I will lead this country back to its former glory and all those who defy me will fall in their graves. So, if I was you, Faye, I would watch what I say." He then walked back over to his desk.

Z glared at him then quickly left the room, still holding her cheek that now had a bright red handprint on it.

Jacob walked up to the man, and kicked his chair back, grabbing his shirt with his hands. There was a look in his eyes that was not friendly. If anything, it was anger, hatred, and disappointment. He was also really damn good at what he did, and he didn't take orders like this.

"Look into my eyes, you BITCH. You can take those orders of yours, and shove it up your ass so far, you shit out your mouth. You don't control me, and you don't tell me what to do. I took this country, hell, this world, and I brought it back from the edge. So if you have ANY respect, ANY AT ALL, you can let us go, or I will just go anyways," And Jacob kicked the chair back, walking away from the desk. He didn't like men like him.

He lit his cigarette, and flicked the match out, looking at the leader who was now sprawling on the floor behind his chair. Then he walked out of the room. He had a bad temper, and he didn't look good when he was mean. Jacob walked over to Z, and looked at her.

"You alright?"

The leader wasn't pleased with Jacob at all. "As long as you are in MY army, you are one of MY soldiers, you and him need to show ME respect. I made this army with my blood, sweat, and tears. You can leave, but don't expect to me let you both back here." He growled at Jacob, clearly not happy with him.

He picked up his chair once they were both gone and dusted off his clothes.

Z nodded, still holding her cheek. "I am fine. he has done worse to me in these past three years." She said, hatred in her voice as she clenched her teeth together. He had done worse to her, yes. Nothing that caused her lose clothing, but it had caused bruises and cuts on her body. One time he had 'accidently' shot her in the shoulder, but that was almost a year ago. There was a scar still there, it was visible on her now without the sleeves on her sweat shirt. "Don't worry about me, this is nothing." There was a shadow over her eyes, hiding the pain and hatred in them.

"What did he say to you? Tell me. I need to know," Jacob said, worried for her. That man was not supposed to be the leader, and one day, he would "Accidentally" kill him. He was just that kind of person, that if he hurt anyone he cared about, then that guy wouldn't live long. He put his arm around her shoulder, and began walking back to where she slept.

"Listen, I am going to find this machine. You are under orders, no? Well, I told him to take those orders and shove it up his ass. He didn't like me, but what is he going to do? Shoot me? Ha, even the people on HIS side would gut him for that," Jacob was trying to cheer her up, and he knew it might not work. "Look, if he does anything, anything at all, tell me. I got a little surprise for him,"

Z shook her head. "Nothing to worry about it. Just a threat he can never make good of. Simply that he thinks that he will become the new leader of this country and I'll be the first he comes after because I have defied him for so long." She rolled her brown eyes, stuffing her hands in her pockets. "You wouldn't believe how cruel he really is, more so to those soldiers who defy him and don't believe in what he believes." She said with a sigh.

She didn't fight him putting his arm on her shoulders, she didn't mind it at all. It was hard to cheer her at this point, every time she visited that man, she always came back fighting. She usually went to the training room and be beating up one of the sand bags they had. She had already destroyed about five in the last three years. "It is fine, you don't need to worry about me. He has been like this since the Rise was started, but he hates me with a passion and will do anything to get me out of here without starting a up roar." She sighed, shaking her head.

"We'll, Z, if you need anyone to talk to, I'm always here. Listen, I am going to go look around Central Chicago. If you want to go, that's up to you. But I'd rather not beat the shit outta my leader if he did demote you for that," Jacob was chuckling, but he had to be serious now. He took his arm off of her shoulder, cracking his knuckles. He walked towards the exit, and knew that she might follow him.

"Hand me that backpack, will ya? It's got C4, clips, and some other important stuff in it," Jacob said, pointing to a small backpack that was in the corner. He grabbed his Thompson, a gun that he gave the name God's Warrior to. It was a .507 caliber SMG that he trusted with his life. It was the gun that saved it from the War, anyways. "You know I will always worry about you, right?"

Z looked at him like he was crazy. "I'll be damned before I don't come with you, Jacob. We are in this together, no matter what." She grabbed his hand, making sure that he was looking straight into her eyes. "You are not going into this alone, Robbins. I'm in this with you to the end." She said, a determined look in her brown eyes. "You hear me, soldier? He can demote me all he wants, but he will only come crawling back for my help." She grinned. "He is nothing without me."

She did come with him, of course she would. She nodded and grabbed his backpack then another one that she packed a couple nights ago with two pistols, a rifle, and AK47. She put on her backpack and handed Jacob's his. "You really shouldn't." She said, grinning at him. "I'm a big girl now, Jacob. I can fight my own battles. I have been able to for the past three years."

"Hitler always hated his smart generals, but never fired them. Too damn good. Thanks for coming with me. I think I might need a bit of help," Jacob smiled, and cocked his gun. It gave a satisfying click as he let go of the bolt. He was glad that she was coming with him, always glad to be around her. He adjusted the strap, and began to walk to his car. It was a convertible, with the top down.

"So you got pull-ups, too? Sweet! Always thought I was alone. Here, "my Door's open but the ride ain't free,". So, what about it? Wanna hop in?" Jacob opened the door to his shotgun seat, and sat down, revving up the engine. "I'm always gonna be worried about those that I care about. Hell, if something bad happened to you, then I would be sad,"

"That is probably true. He needs me in all of this, I have been the one who made most of the missions and pointed out the best places to attack. I choose the men, I did all the work while he just put it into action. This job is never easy, but it does help get my mind off of things." She said, much calmer now. Usually it would take hours for her to calm down after what had just happened. Hell, she almost killed the guy when he shot her. She rubbed her shoulder absentmindedly.

She rolled her eyes and got in the car. "I have no other ride, Jacob." She said, shutting the door and putting her seat-belt on. "The thing is, you don't even know what the hell the leader has done to me so far. Everyone else does, they know he hates me but won't fire me because I am the strongest and smartest person he got."

Jacob listened to her as he pulled out of the driveway, being careful. As soon as he was on the road, he put the cigarette back in his mouth, twirling it around. He put back on his sunglasses, aviators, as it were, and smiled. He checked the gas, full. His pockets, two packs. Good. He handed a pair of aviators to Z, and a cigarette.

"Hun, It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it," Jacob laughed, and turned on Bob Segar, playing Katmandu at full blast. Next up, Old Time Rock and Roll. After that, some Dire Straits.

They reached Chicago in no time, reaching the Rolling Stones. He smiled as he passed all of his favorite places, then reached the place he wanted: Central Chicago. He stopped at the gate, and got out, his gun on a strap. There was a guard ahead, but he didn't care.

Cake, Presents, Fun. Guards, Guns, Surprise. Cassie charged down the street, the guards hot on her tail. She had just turned 12 literally 5 minutes ago and guards were already trying to brainwash her. She could try to outrun them, but she won't get far in this busy time of day. Her abnormally purple hair slapped her face as she tried to outrun the guards, turning into an alley way close to where Z and Jacob were, heck she was just across the street

The alley way turned out to be a dead end, no way to climb the low wall at the end. Turning around she saw the superior grins on the guards face, thinking they have victory. Not on my watch Cassie took out her birthday gifts, Two Katanas strapped to her back and got ready for the fight of her life.
"COME AND GET ME!" she yelled loud enough for anyone nearby, that was brave enough to help her, to hear.

She listened for the guards advancing, one to her left, 3 to her right, 5 in front and many more at the mouth. I'm in trouble. She quickly slashed her Katanas to the left, taking out the one guard there and backing herself into the corner. So much for living a good life. she thought, referring to her birthday wish only 10 minutes ago.

((Who gives a twelve year old Katanas as a present? ))

Zoe didn't take the sunglasses and quickly took his smokes. "I told you no smoking, Robbins." She said throwing them out the window to have them run over. "Trust me, it is for your own good." She said with a grin, seeming like she didn't care about the cigarettes.

She was glad to finally stand up after such a long car ride. She didn't care much for car rides, but wasn't expecting to see a young girl run from some government men. "Looks like we have some company." She said, cracking her knuckles and then running across the street to where all the men were at. "Excuse me, sirs. But I think what you are doing isn't too good." She said, quickly getting over to Cassie with a simple flip off a nearby car and over all the men.

"Now, I suggest you leave this girl alone or me and my partner will have to rough you up a bit. We wouldn't want that now, would we?" She said, clearly striking fear in the men. She couldn't fight them because of her weak lungs, it would cause her to have a fit after she took down about three of them. She really hated her weak lungs but she had to deal with it. "Jacob, I'm gonna need your help." She called as she turned towards Cassie. "Are you alright miss? I am Z, I can take you to a place where you will be safe from these men." She was trying to be nice and comforting if the girl needed it.

"Hmm, Guards? Yeah, it's me, Jacob Robbins. Hey, do me a favor and buy yourselves some drinks, huh? I can pay, if you want," Jacob had God's Warrior on his shoulder, but he wasn't pointing it, just letting it hang from the strap. "Cus God's Warrior isn't liking this,"

Jacob walked in front of the girls, cracking his knuckles. He knew that these punks would probably do as he said, otherwise, they'd get beaten halfway to hell and back. Jacob had a look in his eyes that said, Piss off, or Else. And he was going to enforce that. Whether or not the police liked it was their problem, not his. They couldn't touch him because of his fame. And they also knew that everything that he disproved of was generally wrong.

But these punks were most likely from the Government, and that wouldn't be too fun for them. Because he knew that they wouldn't stand down unless they had a damn good reason. As he thought, they took out their pistols, and tried to open fire. Jacob moved, pushing the girls out of the way, and taking two bullets to the arm and gut. That didn't make him happy.

Now angry, he jumped up, holding God's Warrior out. She spoke with the defiance of .507 caliber bullets, screaming across the night to be embedded in flesh. The deep throaty roar of the Thompson filled the night, but no one payed attention, because he usually shot there. This time, though, he was outnumbered, and he ran out of the bullets in the clip.

Charging, he smashed the skull of one man with the butt of his gun, and then kicked a man in the chest, before bayoneting him in the neck. The next person, he knocked to the floor, then crushed his face in with his boot. The person next to him tried to run away, but he shot him with a pistol, then reloaded all his guns.

"You two okay?" Jacob was bleeding from cuts and three bullets, but he didn't care. His focus was on the girls.

"Yeah." Cassie said, her ears hurting from all the noise. She covered her ears, hoping for some relief. The gun shots had made her jump, grabbing onto Z for support. Cassie hated loud noises that hurt her ears, and she hated the busy city more. There was noise everywhere, even at night.

When the boy, Jacob, stopped shooting and all the men that were after her were on the ground she let go of Z's baggy shirt and turned to face them both. "Th-Thanks." She said looking down a the ground, embarrassed for not being able to protect herself. She put her Katanas back in their scabbards on her back, ready to go find somewhere to hide.

Then she remembered something Z had said. "Yo-you can t-take me s-som-somewhere safe?" she stuttered from the shock of what had just happened. She looking into Z's eyes, not aware that Z was a girl, and smiled. She finally had someone to protect her, well two people. Her father only gave her the Katanas so she could get out of the house and fend for herself, as for her mother, well she was dead long ago.

Z was surprised when Cassie clung to her during all the gun fire until she could see her eyes and see that they lacked vision. She wrapped her arms around Cassie, trying to help her out. She then decided to put her hands, even though they were small, over Cassie's ears as well to try and help.

She looked up as Jacob came back and let go of Cassie once she let go of Z. She nodded, concern in her brown eyes. "We're fine, but we need to get you treated, Jacob. Come on, let's get back to the car." She said then held out her hand to Cassie. "If you need help figuring out where the car is, just grab my hand. I know by just looking into your eyes that you are blind." She said, clearing her throat.

She looked in surprise at Cassie and nodded. "Yes, have you ever heard of Rise? It is where we are form. I am Zane Faye, but I go by Z. This guy here is my partner in crime, Jacob Robbins. We both work there, keeping kids from being brainwashed. I have been working there since I was twelve, and now I am fifteen years old. My partner is new around there but he is the same age. Would you like to join us, miss?" She offered, keeping her tone friendly. It was clear that she acted different towards girls, more so younger ones.

"Z, I am more than fine. I've been through ten times worse. And by ten times, I mean 30 .22 bullets. I'm going to have to take your offer of going to the base. Z, you're hurt," Jacob said, pointing to a bullet that had slit apart and embedded itself in Z's gut, and chest. It wasn't too high up, but she needed help. Especially with her lungs.

Jacob opened the door, and put Z in the passenger's seat, gunning the engine, and turning around. He had to get back to the HQ fast. It wasn't too far away, though. Only outside the city. And Jacob couldn't help but be jealous about how she was acting. It didn't make him feel good. In fact, it made him feel... Rejected. But he put it out of his mind. If she wanted a girlfriend, she could have one.

He was really worried about her as he revved the engine to nearly 125 miles an hour, zooming past the speed limit, but didn't care. He wanted to get her back to the base. He was bleeding from his many wounds, staining his clothes, and ruining his jacket, but he could get those things fixed. As for his injuries, they started to hurt. His gut hurt sitting down.

Cassie accepted Z's helping hand, carefully walking beside Z. There was bodies all over the alley way and she didn't want to trip over one of them and hurt herself. Cassie was pretty much unhurt, besides a scraped knee from when she fell early on in the chase.

"Can I?" She asked Z as they reached the car. "That would be much better then living on the street." Cassie managed to get in the car and buckle up a split second before Jacob revved the engine and shot down the street. Holding onto the door handle for support, she hated cars too, she dared ask where they were going, not that it mattered anyways.

Z hadn't noticed that she had been wounded at all, she was worried about Jacob and Cassie. "Jacob, we can't go back to the base right now, wounded or not, they won't let us back in. I brought some medical supplies with us in my backpack." She said, as they walked to the car.

She was only being nice to Cassie, it had nothing to do with Jacob and she didn't realize that he would feel that way right now, because she was being nice to Cassie. This is how she was, most likely when this is over, she won't really talk much to Cassie because of Z's lack of knowing how to really talk to girls.

The real affects of the bullets were coming now. She gripped her stomach and let out a silent gasp, leaning over in pain. She rested her forehead against the dashboard, clenching her stomach. She was having a hard time breathing now, it sounded like she was wheezing the air in, it was another one of her attacks. She reached for her backpack and searching for her inhaler. "Damn....it." She said, still having a hard time breathing.

She soon found it and used it to clear her airways, making it easier to breath now. She looked back at Cassie and nodded. "Don't worry, it is outside the city and not too far away right now."

"Z, if they don't let us in, then I will MAKE them help you. At gunpoint," Jacob said, and reloaded God's Warrior, slamming a drum clip home as he drove. That was another 50 rounds of bullets that were used to shoot down planes. He was not thinking straight right now, and would do anything to get them in. That being said, he didn't know how long it would be before one of them passed out.

"HOLD ON Z! WE ARE GETTING THERE!" And he drove straight through the barbed wire and gates that were meant to keep them out. No one dared to fire a bullet at him then, but he guessed there would be more of those guys coming. He hurt all over, blood pouring from everywhere, but he didn't care. He didn't want to. Z was the one who needed help.

He stopped the car, and shouted for a medic, opening the car door. "Can you walk?"

Cassie was scared as hell right now, she had just met these people and they were almost dead. Instead of getting out of the car, she just slid down in the seat, hiding under it. She hated the smell of blood, not knowing if she was in danger of not, and injured people.

Listening intently she heard the quick footsteps of medics approach the car, ready to help Z and Jacob. Cassie just curled up into a ball under the seat and waited, hoping they would be alright and not die. A single tear escaped her eye before she wiped her eyes with the back of her sleeve and waited for the status of how they were.
