Captain Robbins (played by HRA)

This year was a special year. It was the last year of high school at the High School of Musical Art, which was the exact place that Jacob decided to go to because of his talent with a guitar, both electric and acoustic. Funny thing was, it was also the place that Casey Smith ALSO went to, for this year. Neither knew it, but they would soon know.

Jacob had moved on somewhat, getting better at his depression, which was now gone. Except for Casey. He never really forgot her. She was just... Too damn good to forget, and for that reason, he occasionally had dreams about her. He never had a girlfriend, though. Never had the guts to go ask one, but he had the guts to do anything else.

Still, he had to move on. This morning, he was walking to school, his electric guitar in his case. He was wearing his brown leather Bomber Jacket, a white tee shirt, jeans, combat boots, and aviators, and wore his hair long. It was the middle of the school year, and little did he know that he new arrival would arrive today.
Casey had decided to go to this school for the talent kids with the Musical Arts. A lot of people said she was a good singer and she knew how to play piano and electric guitar. Her friends all kept telling her to go, she already had some friends there. She hadn't told anyone yet, but she has been having these strange dreams lately of a blonde guy with bright blue eyes. His face looked familiar but every time she woke up, all she could remember was his eyes.

She sighed as she held her guitar case in one hand and in the other some music sheets. She looked up at the high school doors and frowned, it was her first day and she was really nervous. Before she could even walk in, someone had tackled her in a hug, making her music sheets go everywhere. "Casey!" Someone squealed in her ear as she fell to the ground.

She looked at the girl who had tackled her. The girl had bright red hair with beautiful green eyes. Casey had a simple look in her opinion, with caramel brown hair and ocean blue-green eyes. "Its good to see you to, Jacky." She said with a friendly smile, sitting up.

Jacob saw the girl being tackled by the other girl, and supposed it was a bully. Luckily, it wasn't. But that girl looked familiar. He didn't know why, she just did. Anyway, he decided to go greet her and help her out with her things. Maybe, if he was lucky, he'd score a date with her. Of course, that was if he was lucky. Which he mostly wasn't.

He approached her, and began picking up her music papers. Nothing new there. He never used music sheets because he remembered all the songs he wanted. After getting what he could, he stood there, one eyebrow raised.

"This yours?" Jacob asked, handing the papers to her, and grabbing his case.
Casey looked up to see who it was that had picked her papers up, first thing she noticed was his eyes. She knew them anywhere but she decided not to say anything about it. "Let me go, Jacky." She said to the red head on top of her, still hugging her around the waist. Jacky sighed and let go of her and stood up. She offered a hand to Casey then helped the brunette stand up then looked over at Jacob. "Jacob this is Casey, Casey this is Jacob. Casey is new here, this is her first day." Jacky explained before Casey had a chance.
She held out her hand to Jacob with a friendly smile. "I'm Casey Smith, a bunch of my friends kept begging me to come here because I was in chorus and love to draw and write." She said, explaining it a bit better than Jacky did.

"Casey? Casey Smith? Casey! I haven't seen you in years!" Jacob had a wide eyed stare, and a giant smile on his face. He hadn't expected to see her here right now. It was the last place he had expected to see her, if at all. He handed her the music, and shook her hand. Jacob saw that the smile was just friendly, and nothing more. There was something wrong there, but he couldn't put his finger on it. She looked confused. "You okay?"
Casey was surprised that he knew who she was. "Uh, I am sorry. About a year or so ago my Amnesia kind of started acting up so I can't remember anything that had happened in the past year, up until when I was released form the hospital." She gave a sheepish smile, she also took the music sheets and picked up her guitar case. "I am very sorry, but I do not remember you. I have had strange dreams lately but it really isn't anything new, I've always had them." She was very confused but just guessed that sometime before she left the hospital, she had crossed paths with Jacob.

Jacob stared at her in disbelief. He was hurt in a way he never could understand. She did not remember him, and after all she did for him... After what they went through, after that night... Jacob could not believe this. He wanted a regrouping, a restart of what they had. Not this. His mind started clouding up, and he didn't know what to do or say.

He didn't even return. His lower lip almost started to tremble, but stopped. He didn't want to cry in front of everyone, because that would ruin his reputation. He just shook her hand, and stared for a bit. While they couldn't tell from his actions, they could tell that by the look on his face and eyes showed that he was in pain.

"I'm sorry, Casey. I guess... I never could strike it up with you. I'm sorry. I gotta go," Jacob said, and just before the bell rang, he walked inside, wanting to be alone. The teachers knew that when he was like this, they should leave him alone, and so they did. He just went to that fallout shelter in the basement, and pulled out his guitar. There was a outlet for him to plug it in, and he put it in, and began to strum to himself, and hum.
Casey was very surprised to see him so upset over this. "I am very sorry, Jacob. I can't help when and what my Amnesia takes away from me. I can't even remember really anything anymore, the attacks happen so suddenly, the doctors can't explain it at all. They say it is like as though my mind is purposely doing this to me, as a protection of some sort." She sighed, running a hand through her bangs.

She had seen his lip tremble for a moment and didn't really know what to do. She put one hand on his shoulder, trying to be helpful. "Maybe it might spark a memory if you help me, like telling me what happened between us. It seems like something special had happened and that it was very hard to forget for you." She said. "The only thing I remember from my dreams is the bright blue of your eyes, I noticed it when I first saw you but didn't say anything." She was trying her past to comfort him but it wasn't much use.

"Uh." She said as he just walked away without another word, looking very depressed and hurt. She didn't mean to hurt him, she didn't even really know him. She felt some kind of connection to him but she didn't understand it. It hurt for her to see him so upset just because she couldn't remember him like he remembered her. She sighed and felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked over at Jacky and nodded. They went into the school and went to their separate homerooms.

Jacob strummed for a bit, then found a tune. It told how he felt, but it wasn't a love song. If he wanted a love song, he wouldn't have chosen Pink Floyd. He decided to play Comfortably Numb, and began with the opening rift. "Hello, hello, hello," Jacob said, and little did he know, the school could hear him in the middle of school hours. Some people stopped what they were doing to listen to him. "Is there anyone in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone home?"

He didn't have tears in his face. That would come with the love song. Right now, he was just lamenting. He continued strumming. "Come on, come on, Gal, I hear you're feeling, down. Well I can ease your pain, get you on your feet again. Relax, relax, relax, I need some information... first. Just the basic facts, can you tell me where it hurts?"

Now the whole school was listening. No one really knew how good of a guitar player and singer he was until now. And, he wasn't too bad. But he did need a bit of help. "There is no pain, you are receding. The distant ships smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child I had a fever, my hands felt just like two balloons. Now I've got that feeling once again, I can't explain, you would not understand. This is not how I am. Iiiii-I-I-I-I-I have become....comfortably numb."
Casey listened to the music and once the bell rang she went to go find Jacob. For some reason, listening him to sing in such a sorrowful tone caused a choking pain in her heart. She felt tears sting her eyes but she didn't know why. It was maddening for her, to listen to him sing in such a sad tone. She listened to the music he was playing to find him.

It wasn't long till she found him in his spot in the basement. She put her hands on his, her bangs covering her eyes as she looked down at the ground. "Please....Stop." She said as the tears finally fell. They began to hit the ground, the only sound in the room was them hitting the ground like drums. Her hands were tight around his. She was so confused and hurt. Her heart ached like a pain she never felt and it had came from him. "Please tell me what happened before I lost my memory....Please.....I don't know why.... It hurts to hear you sing so sadly." She said, pausing a couple times. She couldn't look him in the eyes, not while she was in such a confused state of mind. Her emotions were off the wall, jumping around and pulling her heart this way and that. "I don't understand this! What happened that can cause so much pain?!" Her voice was cracking as the tears flowed past her eyes and hit the cold hard ground.

Jacob set down his guitar, and turned off everything he could. He turned around and saw her. He wasn't crying, but when she cried, it was saddening. He held her hands, but couldn't bring himself to say anything. He just stared, and began to cry. Slowly, silently. As if it was a pity. His heart was in pieces, and he was a wreck.

"Casey... We had something going on. You had saved my life when I tried to kill myself, you gave me a home, and you gave me your kindness. I thought that it would be good enough to last. We fell asleep that first night in each other's arms. You comforting me, I comforting you. And now, you come here not knowing who I am. It breaks my heart to be like this. I can't stand the pain." He trembled, and started to cry harder. He was more than a mess. He was worse than anything he ever could believe. Maybe this was what it was like to have your heart broken.
Casey looked up at him in surprise. She didn't mean to hurt him so much like this. "I-I'm sorry, Jacob. I didn't mean to forget you, I really didn't. This isn't the first time that I couldn't remember anything for a year or two, I forgot my brother's birth and how I meant my best friend." She noticed that he was crying too. She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a hug. She held him tightly, trying her best to comfort him.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't want to forget, trust me I didn't. Why would I ever want to forget all that? I am not that cruel. I don't know why my mind does all this to me, it only hurts later on. I am sorry." She whispered in his ear, holding him tightly.

Jacob hugged her tightly, and accidentally hit the music player. It started playing Love Rescue Me, and he smiled when he cried. Finally, for the first time in years, he could be with Casey, a person who listened, who cared, and who helped in any way possible.

"Casey, thanks for doing this. Thanks for being there. Don't change," Jacob said, and smiled, tears streaming down his face. He pulled away after a bit, and smiled, his tears gone, but his eyes red. He was thankful for her being who she was.

"I'm sorry, Casey. I didn't want for this to happen. You can go back to what you were doing. I just can't go back up for a bit. If you want to stay, be my guest. I just can't go up and face the school," Jacob looked at her, sorry for crying.
Casey was glad that he was holding her, it felt familiar and warm. She hadn't really had someone to hold her while she was crying, to cling to when she wanted to breakdown. She didn't want him to let her go, she had been on the edge for so long, hiding behind a smiling mask that she wore.

Those words triggered a memory but it was hazy, her eyes opened suddenly. She didn't let go of him, but looked at his face. "I won't change, I promise." She said, smiling. She wiped away the last of the tears. "Those words you just said, did you ever say anything like that to me before? It triggered a memory but it is hazy.

"I don't want to go and don't be sorry. I know how you feel." She said, sitting down on the ground. "You shouldn't be sorry, please don't be." She could read it in his eyes that he was sorry for crying. She didn't want him to be sorry for crying, it was only natural with all that they just realized.

"Casey, I wish you could remember me. We'd have so much fun if you did... But I'm just happy that you are alive, and right here. I couldn't hope for anything better than you. Don't leave me again, Casey. I don't think I could take it twice," Jacob said, sniffing. He was leaning up against the wall, looking at her. He grabbed her hand, a thing he probably shouldn't have done, but did anyways. He leaned in, and kissed her on the cheek, a little nervous to do that, but he did it anyways. "Thanks for not changing. I said those words the night I first stayed at your house. We had watched a movie, and you began to fall asleep, and I brought you to the bed,"

Jacob sighed when he remembered that. It was a nice memory. One that he never wanted to forget. Casey by his side with her arms around him, the cool wind blowing, and both of them falling asleep. He just wished they could've shared that, one. Last. Time.

"I won't be, Casey. I just don't like crying in front of people. It makes me feel weak. But with all that happened, I couldn't help it. And I trust you, Case. That's why I started crying. Because I trusted you, and missed you,"
Casey blushed when he kissed her cheek, caught off guard with that. She always kept her distance from everyone, trying to protect them from what hurts her. She looked at Jacob, still in shock but smiled at him. "I wish I could remember all that had happened between us. There are so many things that I wish I could remember but ever since I fell off the cliff when I was five. My memory isn't my best asset." She smiled at him. She blushed at what he said, the same reaction when she woke up that day. "R-Really? I never thought I would do a-anything like that."

She looked in his eyes and saw that he was remembering that moment, something she wish she could do. She was glad to be here with him now, she really hadn't felt so close to someone or that she could trust someone since she moved. She had to leave his best friend back in her home town, they still talk but not as much as they did before. She had friends here, but they weren't close to her.

Casey shook her head. "Crying isn't a sign of weakness, it shows that you are hurt and in pain, that you are human and that you feel pain." She held his hands, looking into his eyes. "I trust you, even if my memory erased you and the time we spent together, it didn't erase the feeling that were left behind. A mind can forget but not what a heart has felt, the heart never forgets. I won't leave you again, but you will have to realize that my Amnesia could come back and erase you and everyone again, just have to give me a chance." She knew she shouldn't do this, but didn't care. She leaned in and gently kissed Jacob, a single tear slipping past her closed eyes.

Time Skip. (and now, we leave that little scene alone, and move on to something, a bit more... different.)

Jacob finally got out of school, but he wasn't happy. It was a helluva day. Good thing it was a weekend. Otherwise, it would've been worse. But lets go over what exactly happened, hmm? Casey forgot all about Jacob except for a few things, and Jacob broke down into... a mess. At least Casey was there for him to help cheer him up.

Now he was walking home with all his stuff. He hadn't seen Casey in a bit, but he hoped he would be able to see her again. His eyes were back to the blue they once were. He no longer was crying, but he would never forget that time. Hell, he never forgot her, though she forgot him. He wished there was some way for her to get her memory back... at least of him. He never wanted her to know the abuse she had.

He saw her out in the yard, doing something. He began to walk her way, and she looked sad. Just like he had before. Hell, he was still sad. He thought she was just as sad, too.
Casey had went through her classes, but her head was in the clouds like always. She was trying to get back into her memory but nothing worked which annoyed her. Now, she sat in the courtyard of the school listening to one of her favorite school, Bad Apple. It described how her feelings flowed through the day. She looked up at the sky, her earbuds in her ears so she couldn't hear if anyone was near by. She began to sing the song she was listening too.

"Ever on and on I continue circling
With nothing but my hate in a carousel of agony
Till slowly I forget and my heart starts vanishing
And suddenly I see that I can't break free--I'm
Slipping through the cracks of a dark eternity
With nothing but my pain and the paralyzing agony
To tell me who I am, who I was
Uncertainty enveloping my mind
Till I can't break free, and

Maybe it's a dream; maybe nothing else is real
But it wouldn't mean a thing if I told you how I feel
So I'm tired of all the pain, of the misery inside
And I wish that I could live feeling nothing but the night
You can tell me what to say; you can tell me where to go
But I doubt that I would care, and my heart would never know
If I make another move there'll be no more turning back
Because everything will change, and it all will fade to black

Will tomorrow ever come? Will I make it through the night?
Will there ever be a place for the broken in the light?
Am I hurting? Am I sad? Should I stay, or should I go?
I've forgotten how to tell. Did I ever even know?
Can I take another step? I've done everything I can
All the people that I see I will never understand
If I find a way to change, if I step into the light
Then I'll never be the same, and it all will fade to white

Ever on and on I continue circling

If I make another move, if I take another step
Then it all would fall apart. There'd be nothing of me left
If I'm crying in the wind, if I'm crying in the night
Will there ever be a way? Will my heart return to white?
Can you tell me who you are? Can you tell me where I am?
I've forgotten how to see; I've forgotten if I can
If I opened up my eyes there'd be no more going back
'Cause I'd throw it all away, and it all would fade to black"

Her voice was gentle and sweet, but was sad to. When she finished singing, tears rolled down her eyes. Before anyone else could come, this guy that had a crush on Casey came out and walked over to her. He had been there the whole time. "Aw. Poor Casey." He said, putting an arm around her shoulders. "Don't touch me." She growled at him, pushing him away from her. He was really tired of this. He grabbed one of her wrists forcefully and looked straight into her eyes. "Why can't you love me like the rest of the school? What makes you so special?" He growled.

Jacob stopped in his tracks when he saw the person put his arms around Casey. He didn't like it, and he thought about turning around. It was just really bad looking on her part. Fortunately, she pushed him away. But he didn't like him. He was there, though, when he grabbed her wrist, and Jacob pushed the guy back.

"No. You do not do that to anyone. Stay away from her if you know what's good for you," Jacob said, dropping his case. He looked at him in an angry look, one that could kill. Then he turned to Casey, holding out his hand to help her up. "Hey, you okay?"
Casey was surprised when Jacob did that for her, the guy didn't look to happy. Casey looked up at Jacob and took his hand, standing. She pulled one earbud out, still in shock. "Y-Yeah, I am fine." She said, surprised. She looked over at the guy who just stormed off, clearly not too happy about Jacob standing up for her. "Thank you for doing that. He has been like this to me for awhile." She sighed. "Almost everyone in this school likes him expect me and he hates to no end." She said with a shake of her head. She still held on to his hand, not wanting to let go.
