In the fantasy world of Altuna, marriage is even more sacred than it usually is in a normal setting.
The way marriage works in this world is quite simple. During the ceremony, magical bonds tie to two together, and the two can decide which part of the family they take up. That means the person who switches families, is cut off from their old families in numerous ways. Certain family held features magically change, surname, wealth, and status all change as well.
This makes marriage a big plus and sometimes negative. For story sakes we are dwelling to one of those negative scenarios.
Meet Character A, a wealthy noble person. Bigger than the world in beauty and wealth with a superiority complex . They have had an amazing young life, of and don’t plan on stopping any time soon.
Now meet Character B, your average peasant. A farm boy with a dislike for the nobles of the world.
During a kingdom wide holiday, these two unlikely individuals end up in the same event for a party. All went well until someone decided to kick things up a notch and pass around a mysterious substance. Against their better judgement they each partake in the substance and that leads to quite a wild night. One that eventually leads to our protagonists running into each other and managing to convince themselves to marry one another, with Character A being the one to liquidate his nobility to join the bloodline of a farm boy. Our story takes place the following week!
