A light rain fell in the city, dampening everything but not quite soaking anything that wasn't outside for too long. There were several large puddles that had formed from the much heavier rain earlier in the day and the whole city simply seamed dreary.
A horse drawn carriage flew past, hitting a particularly deep puddle and splashing a good deal of water onto a young anthro girl. She let out a startled cry but no one do much as gave her a second glance. The fox/shark hybrid shivered violently, her old clothes sopping wet and her fur soaked all the way to her skin. Her sharp teeth chattered and her ears were laid back as she curled into the tightest ball she possibly could, her furry shark tail wrapped around her shins and her arms around her knees with her face hidden behind them, tryin to make herself invisible to the possible hits and punches and the scrutinizing, racist gazes of the passing humans. Not one of them cared if she lived or died and she wasn't even allowed into any nearby stables. She'd been hit with a shovel full of feces more than once because she tried sleeping with the feral animals for their warmth.
Tonight was going to be a very hard night for Natalia, and unless someone did something, she wouldn't survive this night.

Max walked the rainy streets, looking for somewhere to stay the night. Her favorite sweatshirt was soaked, clinging to her skin. She still looked like a young boy though, the only way she would be recognized as a girl would be if her shirt or pants were off.
She passed the anthro on the street and stopped, backing up a little to be standing next to her. "Hey , Whats wrong?" She asked taking her jacket off and putting it over the anthro's shoulders, concern in her dark green eyes.

On any other day, she would have scrambled away, but now, she just looked up at her with a terrified but glazed over expression, "P-p-please don't h-h-hurt me..." she whimpered, her teeth chattering. She was so numb she didn't even notice the jacket over her shoulders.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not like the filthy humans who think they own the wold." Max said trying to emphasize that she wasn't entirely human. She smiled and offered her hand to the anthro, so she wouldn't be sitting in a puddle that had formed around them. "I'm Max." She said, giving her preferred nickname to the girl.
She looked up with confusion in her eyes as the girl offered her hand.
"I-I'm Natalia," she said shyly and shivered again, "W-what do you want if you're not going to hurt me?"

Max smiled. "Lets see. If I'm not hurting you, then I'm doing the opposite!" Max said laughing at her riddle. She was pretty bad at making up riddles but it was fun to see her try. She brushed her pinkish-red her behind her cap and put her hand in the front pocket of her pants, the other hand still out waiting for Natalia to accept.
Natalia looked even more confused but finally accepted the girl's hand, pulling herself up.

Max smiled and let go of her hand. "I'm Max." she said sticking her hand in her pocket and playing with the small knife in there. "So why are you laying in the streets?" she asked, leaning against the wall.
"B... B-T-W?" she asked and rubbed her temples, "Why do you think I'm out here?" she asked, gesturing to her sopping wet, torn clothes, which was actually just a potatoe bag with holes for her head and arms.
(seriously... This is like American Revolution time period... Horse and carriage stuff, no tech)

((I guess you need to tell me what not to put in xD I have no clue what was in the 1800 and what wasn't))
"I going to guess tat you were denied into the shelters?" Max said, zipping her jacket up around Natalia so she would be warm.

(Well, no zippers, no jeans, certainly no text speak. You know how people dressed durin the american revolution? Women only wore dresses. Not always big fancy ones, sometimes just cheap cloth, but that was all there was. No homeless shelters, just inns and stables.)
Natalia nodded and pulled the jacket tighter around herself, "Th-thank you..." she shivered.

((Jesus, so much specifics. O_o))
Max smiled and lead The girl into a nearby alley way with a couple dry boxes and cover from the rain. "If you want you can stay here for a while." Max said sitting down in one of the medium sized boxes turned on it's side.

She smiled shyly, "I-I'm Natalia..." she introduced herself as she say down in one of the wooden crates, glad to be out of the impending rain.
"D-do you have any d-dry blankets?" she shivered.
"D-do you have any d-dry blankets?" she shivered.
Scratching the back of her head, Max turned around and sifted through the small amount of trash there for the blankets she kept hidden. There was a variety of blankets from various people she asked. Max grabbed the whole pile and handed half of them to Natalia, which was about 3 of them, and put the other 3 around her own shoulders.
The hybrid smiled shyly at her, "Thank you so much... You have no idea... But I would have died tonight..." she whimpered as she pulled the blankets around her small form.
Max moved quickly over to where Natalia was and sat next to her, trying to warm her up more. "Pneumonia is the worst." Max said rolling her sleeve up a bit to show a long scar on her upper arm. "It got infected and I also had pneumonia at the time, so I was in terrible shape. If someone hadn't helped me, then I wouldn't have been able to save you." She said with a smile, rolling her sleeve back down and wrapping the blanket tighter.
"N-no... Not pneumonia..." she shook her head, "W-whenever I fall asleep... I get very very cold... If I'm not covered in something or if it's not warm, then I'd freeze to death in my sleep... The weather being wet and cold doesn't help..."
"Frostbite then." Max said, showing off her knowledge about sicknesses and viruses. Max opened her blankets and scooted right next to Natalia, covering her with her blankets too. "Being closer together helps..." Max said, realizing how awkward this might be for her.
"n-not frostbite..." she shook her head, "I-I don't lose feeling in any part of me... I-I would just die... Frostbite isn't a condition... And you don't get frostbite in the summer. I'm like this all year," she said and then nodded, "A-are you sure you'd want to be close to me?"
