It'd had so many names that no one remembered the true one... The Evasion of Darkness. The Massacre of Light. Hell's Battleground. Over time it simply became known as "the war." No one even remembered why the fighting had broke out... We just knew it was us versus them.
OOC: Hello all! I'm Saturn, this is my elven paladin Faelyn, and the RP is just as the title says: fantasy war! Meaning a fantasy world with magic, mythical creatures, and TONS of action! I'm thinking close to LotR-tier as far as the world goes (more swordplay and magic than guns and tanks), and the war is just good versus evil. Faelyn is good. What side are you on?

Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Renaissance
Wartime/soldier RPs. Combat is a given and will likely be graphic, but there's the potential for non-combat "in the trenches" scenes. World War 2, Vietnam, etc.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
Details: Freeform, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred. Will be played with a small group of players.
I'd certainly be interested in throwing myself in a high stakes fantasy like this. 
I'm really interested, but I'm quite nervous 'cause this is going to be my first fantasy roleplay. (Not my first roleplay of course because I usually do realistic roleplays in general forum and I do paragraphs.)

Don't be daunted by a fantasy setting. It's essentially a war, but unless your character is human, they'll just look different. Instead of guns and other firearms, we'll be using swords, spears, bows, hammers, and magic. And as far as magic goes, you can create your own system for your character. For Faelyn specifically, she can use the power of light. What I'm going to make that mean is that through spells (which are just glorified chants when it comes to writing), she'll be able to shoot beams of light to enemies/objects and affect them in certain ways. So in that sense, she'll have a "gun" -- but it's magic.
If you aren't comfortable with creating a combat-based character, they could be a healer or information-gatherer. They'd be the ones to infiltrate enemy bases as a spy, or have the connections to learn the enemy's next target, etc. A healer could be a human doctor, or someone with healing abilities.
And medieval roleplay experience should help with this. I'm thinking the tech can be just before electricity, so still using fires for light. But they'd be more advanced in educational and medical fields due to the usage of magic.
As far as speaking tone goes, we can talk like it's modern day. No "how art thou?" type speech, but also no usage of things that wouldn't exist yet, like phones or cars.

Could I join? Pretty much all of my characters would be suited for this. Also, is there any chance I could use my Flumph?

I, too, am good with whatever.
I'm more of a forum based player myself. It helps to attract a fresh face incase one of us drops off the grid. Plus an audience is an insentive in itself for me.
As for NPCs, I don't mind creating some NPC/baddie fodder as we go along.
