Arthur lifted a brow. "Do you always listen to what your papa tells you, Melianna?" He glanced at her. "There's good humans and there's bad humans, just like there's good and bad of anything. I'm sure you've noticed that by now. Your people don't realize or accept it yet, but I'm part of the good humans."
Melianna quickly shook her head. "Papa is always right. Sometimes he isn't right right away, but he just...knows things." She shifted a bit on her cushion. "We've yet to see a good human. Usually they're here to hurt us, or take things from us..." She sighed slightly, and looked up at him. "Are there really good humans? Why don't they ever stop the bad ones from coming?"
Arthur was curious. "...interesting. He just knows things?" He sighed a little bit and leaned back slightly. "Yes, there are, Melianna. They don't stop the bad ones because they can't. The bad ones get the positions of power because they do bad things to get there. But when you see a bear, just because another bear tried to hurt you, that doesn't mean the new bear is bad, does it?"
(Sorry, I gotta go to bed! Night!)
(Sorry, I gotta go to bed! Night!)
{Night!}
"Mmhm. Whatever he says usually comes true, sooner or later. He knows a lot about a lot." Melianna quieted for a moment. "...not really, but the bear is still scary," she said softly. "No matter how nice the new bear is, you'll always remember being hurt by the bad bear, won't you?" She perked up, watching Arthur curiously. What an insightful thought for such a young girl... well, she was nearly fifty though.

Arthur stared at the fruit, a troubled look crossing his eyes. "...yes. Yes you will." he said quietly. He sighed softly and stood up. "Excuse me. I'm going to go upstairs and get some rest." He wobbled a little, and when he took a step he forgot he was on a cushion. The cushion slid with his foot and he crashed onto the floor, pain flashing through his body. Hands clenched into fists and he just stayed there, fighting back swelling memories. "Please leave." he whispered, trying not to take his emotions out on the girl. "Th...thank the chieftain for the drink. And thank you for sharing it with me."
Melainna blinked, and wanted to ask if he needed help, but she quickly stood, leaving the healf-empty jug on the table. "G-Goodbye." She bit her lip and quickly dashed out. His voice had sounded strained, as if holding back some sort of...anger, or sorrow. She didn't want to be there if he got wmotional.
Arthur laid there on the floor for what felt like eternity, suffering just what Mary had predicted; the whole re-emergence of the childhood trauma he faced when he first came to the village. Eventually, through tears and sorrow, he fell asleep. And that was how the next visitor would find him; asleep on the floor, with tear stains on his cheeks.
Ah, what a coincidence that it was Belle that had snuck in to see him. She was surprised to find him asleep on the cushions, and...were those tear stains? She looked at the jug of river wine on the table and quickly went to sniff it. No, it didn't smell drugged or anything, and Arthur still seemed to be breathing. She watched him for a moment, before quietly kneeling down beside him. "Arthur?" she said quietly. "Arthur, wake up..." At any rate, he should be on a bed, not on the floor.
Arthur stirred, the sat up suddenly. "Mother!!" He panted and took a few breaths, then glanced at him. "...oh, hey Belle. What are you doing here?"
Belle blinked, jerking back slightly. "...are you alright?" she asked, looking over him worriedly. Mother? He seemed in such a panic... Had he been having a nightmare?
Arthur sighed and rubbed his face, then ran a hand through his hair. "Yes, I'm...I'm fine. I was just...sleeping. what's going on, Belle? Is everything okay? Why aren't you with your family?" (Small posts, posting between classes xD)
"Father's out with the scouts, Mother's with the other women, and Valenthion is...well, somewhere. I mm not sure. But you've been asleep for a long time, so I came to check on you." Belle still looked a bit worried. Indeed, outside it was past sunset.
Arthur listened to her and nodded slightly. "Hmm...I see." He blinked and looked over at the window. "Have I really been asleep for that long?" He stretched carefully and sighed softly. "That doesn't surprise me, I was pretty tired." He glanced at her. "...I think I scared Melainna... can you please apologize for me if you see her? I wasn't feeling well."
"Melainna?" Belle blinked. "Oh, that little girl. Yes, I will." She paused, looking at Arthur carefully. "...are you feeling alright, now? You look a bit pale still." Not to mention the signs of tears shed before he fell asleep...but she wouldn't mention that.
Arthur rubbed his face again and nodded. "I'm fine, yes. I think it was just from my injuries, but your brother's treatments have helped. I feel much better." The half-lies just slid off his tongue so easily. He didn't quite feel bad about it. He was protecting her from worrying about him and such.
Belle hesitated, before nodding quietly. "Mm, good." She paused for a moment and stood. "You should...probably sleep in a bed, for better rest." She smiled sheepishly, rubbing her arm slightly. "Beds are more comfortable than floor cushions."
Arthur nodded slightly and sighed. "I was too dizzy to walk. Next time i will sleep in a bed. I'm not as dizzy anymore. It's alright. Belle, you should go spend time with your people. If your father comes back and find you here he'll get angry."
Belle nodded a bit, her smile fading slightly. "I hope some good sleep will help you feel strong again." She dipped her head. "Well... Goodnight."
Arthur paused for a moment, then sighed. "...Thank you, Belle. For checking up on me." He gave a little nod and let her leave, then he went upstairs. He didn't sleep, though. He sat by the window and stared out of it, watching the elves go about their evening life. It was difficult for him. The memories and emotions had surged. His mother offering him a piece of fruit, and an elven warrior coming in... he shokk his head and sighed. (Brb for a bit)
{Ughhhh I need to find out his childhood! So intenseee}
The evening passed and no one else came to Arthur. In the morning, Arthur would find his wounds completely healed, due to Valen's medicine. He would feel a bit weak still, but otherwise he would be better. Arthur, if asleep, would awaken to a knock on the door. "Mr. Arthur? I have some fruit for breakfast for you." It was Melainna.
