"Oh. Well." Belle took a breath. "I have to finish this...but I suppose we could take a small walk." She sighed and reluctantly set down the bow, before standing. "Hopefully we won't run into my father, though. He'll go mad if he sees you back here."
Arthur sighed slightly. "I don't care if he sees me. He'll live." He walked outside with her and started walking. "So tell me, how's your time back at home been? Have you talked to your father any more about being at peace with the humans?" He glanced at her. "After all, you have a good idea. And he said he would think on it. Has he?"
"...yes, he has thought about it. His answer is 'no,' because he can't risk another betrayal from the humans." Belle sighed slightly. "But other than that things have been wonderful. I'm adjusting nicely, I think." She walked quietly beside him, hands folded delicately in front of her.
Arthur glanced at her. "Then why do you think that Valenthion came to get me?" He kept walking, breathing softly. "The question is, Belle...can he risk not to?" He looked at her. "The humans aren't on the offensive much anymore. Just the slavers picking up some stray elves. Attacks on the villages have slowed to a near stop. The only casualties you suffer anymore are ones that come from the elves picking off some stray travelers.."
"My father is more stubborn than you understand, Arthur," Belle insisted. "Because he had given his full trust to the humans before, he has this guard up now that forces him to question anything and everything. I doubt there's any hope for peace while he's chieftain."
Arthur considered this for a moment, then pause. "...I just got an idea. But it's a crazy idea. What if...what if we, ah, 'commandeered' your father for a little while? You could take control of the village for a little while, learn to accept and be accepted by the people. Meanwhile, your father would be at my house, and I could show him that not all humans are terrible." He knew it was an insane idea, but he couldn't help it.
Belle's eyes went wide. "Are you absolutely mad?! He would murder you!" she exclaimed, looking at him in utter shock and disbelief. "He would come straight home and keep me locked away for the next century, most likely!"
Arthur glanced at her. "...maybe. Maybe not. Maybe he would see Mary, and he would start to understand. Or George, the new errand boy, and he would start to realize that they aren't as awful as he thought. I...I think it might be worth a try. The only problem is I don't know how I can get him to my house."
"You couldn't get him there any way that wouldn't make him loathe you even more than he already does," Belle murmured. "I mean, Mother understands a bit more than Father does, so perhaps you could ask for her help. Perhaps she would kick you out of the village, though."
Arthur sighed a bit. "Hmm...maybe. That might work." He glanced at her. "But this all depends on if you think you can handle stepping up as chieftain while I have your father at my house." He waited for her answer. It all depended on that.
(Bedtime!)
(Bedtime!)
"Me? Chieftain?" Belle quickly shook her head. "Absolutely not. I don't have any leadership skills. Besides, once my father dies, Valenthion will become chieftain, not me. I'll work with him, but I could never do it alone."
Arthur nodded slightly. "I wasn't sure if Valenthion was eligible due to his blindness. That might work out even better, then. I will talk to your mother, and perhaps convince her."
Belle nodded slightly and hugged herself. "...I really hope this works. If it doesn't, Father will return even more angry than he is now..." She sighed heavily and glanced at Arthur. "Thank you, in advance, for trying."
{So now that I'm on spring break and have no homework to do, I'm rereading our rp xD If Raeliel agrees to want to help Saelhil stop being a bitter old man, she can remind him of this time, after they found out Mirathin was alive and that Rae's life was a lie, yadda yadda yadda C: He told her to forgive him and move on, and now he must do the sameeeee. And also he was at peace after his mom died, and somewhat after his father died, so he needs to get back to that place or whatever. Just some thoughts x3}
(Sounds great! Sorry I didn't post yesterday, it was super busy, and today I have the flu I shall attempt a post for you, but I probably won't be back into regular posting shape until Wednesday, sorry!)
Arthur nodded slightly. "If he gets even angrier and it doesn't work, I'll whisk you away and put you somewhere safe. Don't worry, Belle. I'll protect you." He smiled gently and stood up. "Come on, let's get back to the town. I have to talk to your mother."

{No worries! Get better soooooon!}
Belle took a breath and nodded. She followed Arthur quietly back to town, hands folded quietly in front of her. "...he would never hurt me, by the way," she said softly. "My father. He would never hurt me. He isn't that sort of man. I know you've only seen him angry but he really is a kind person, and he loves me very much. He just wants my way of thinking to change back to how it used to be."

(Thanks! I'm feeling much better tonight)
Arthur nodded slightly. "Well...I'm glad. If he ever did hurt you, I...I wouldn't stand for it. Not at all." He knew how to be firm, but he would never raise a hand against another. Not without a very good reason. He went into the house, asking that Belle stay outside so he could talk to Raeliel. He was in there for a long while, but then he came out and excused himself, leaving the village. At least, that's what it seemed. Raeliel waited for her husband to return home, patiently.

{Yay <33 I'm so glad!}
Around sunset, the chieftain returned. Saelhil walked into the house, tired and sweaty from a day of training the newest scouts. The first thing he did was pour himself a tall glass of something to drink (non alcoholic, of course, since elves of his village still didn't really drink) and take a seat in the dining room, relaxing for a bit after his exhausting day.

Raeliel was ready for him, and she poured his drink for him instead. "Hey, how was training, love?" she said softly. She brought him his drink and sat down, smiling gently. Especially from her, and especially in his weary state, he probably wouldn't notice that she'd put something in his drink to knock him out cold. "I love you." she said softly, smiling a little. "...you work so hard."
Saelhil drank it without hesitation. He sighed heavily, rubbing his face tiredly. "Very well. They've really come a long way since our fist session. I..." He blinked slightly. The drink left a strange taste in his mouth. ...no, it just must be his imagination. "I'm hoping...hoping t-to..." The chieftain blinked slightly when his vision went blurry, and his head began to spin. What was... Poison? No. It...It couldn't be! Not from his wife, not from— In only a moment he fell over onto the cushions, unconscious from the potent sleep powder of sorts. His cup clattered to the table, spilling out what little liquid was left.
