Saelhil allowed her to be quiet, as he knew she would need time to mourn and think things through. In a few hours, they reached a small village, but Saelhil rode right on through, heading closer to the ocean. He knew where a small house was, as it had been a bit of a summer home for his parents, when his mother had been alive.
Raeliel rode along, and as they got closer to the ocean, she felt her spirits lifting a bit. But when they passed through the village, she looked quizzically at Saelhil. "Where are we going, Saelhil?" They had passed by the village, where else could they be staying? She looked around, taking in a deep breath and letting it out. The ocean air was so nice.
"We are going somewhere that I promise you will be undisturbed." Saelhil suddenly turned his horse and smiled at Raeliel, before setting his horse off towards a sea cliff. (Luckily he was a quick learner, and he knew how to control a running horse on generally safe terrain.)
Raeliel watched him, looking at him curiously. She spurred her horse on to follow after him. She couldn't help but be wary. She was glad he was doing well with the horse, however. It wouldn't be good to have a dangerous accident at this particular area.
Soon, they came upon a small villa, facing the sea. Saelhil managed to slow down the horse, and he dismounted, going to lead the horse to a small fenced-off area. "My parents used to stay here," he told her. "Father said it would be mine once I got married, so I plan to make good use of it."
Raeliel hopped off the horse as well and led it along with him, listening as he spoke. 'Good use'? What was that supposed to mean? Raeliel found herself questioning everything about him at the moment. Admittedly, she was...paranoid. What if he was plotting something? What if THIS was all a lie, too? She was concerned. What if it was some plot to kill her and bring destruction down on her town? Raeliel stopped walking and stared at him worriedly, as if looking at him would show the truth.
Saelhil untracked his horse and let it roam free, then turned to smile at her. "Come on, then. Do you want to see the inside?" He went to her, offering a hand to help her off the horse.
Raeliel watched him as he came over. She carefully took his hand and got down and let her horse join his. She looked him over carefully, then gave a slight nod. "..yes." She was second-guessing everything. This was a bad idea. There were no witnesses. No escape, the land was a place that he knew well. Raeliel felt her stomach knotting up.
Saelhil smiled and nodded, then motioned for her to follow him inside, his bag slung over his shoulder. He didn't seem to notice her uneasiness, and he just happily went inside the villa. It was airy, as his village often built their homes, but it was actually more sophisticated than the usual natural elf home, and it even had a real mirror hanging on the wall in the bedroom.
Raeliel followed him in, looking around the villa. It was so beautiful, it reminded her a lot of her own home. She let him give her the tour, though she stayed unusually silent throughout it all. She just kept thinking about how secluded the place was, and how many ways he would be able to kill her and get rid of the evidence. She suddenly stopped walking. She couldn't take it. If he was going to kill her, then he needed to just do it already!
Saelhil glanced back at her, blinking in surprise. "...Raeliel?" he asked cautiously. "Are you alright?" She seemed rather... quiet, and closed up. But why had she stopped walking for no reason?
Raeliel put a hand on her stomach. She still felt the knots, and it was turning into a bad sick feeling. "Oh just get it over with! I can't stand it anymore! I'm done with all the lies, just save us both the trouble and go ahead and do it." Tears welled up in her eyes and she turned her head away. "It doesn't matter, I'd rather die than have to live with all these lies, thinking it was all the truth..."
Saelhil looked at her for a moment, then got a confused look on his face. "What? You talk as if I'm..." He then understood. "I'm not going to kill you, Raeliel. Why would I do that?" He went to her and put his hand on her cheek, trying to get her to look at him. "I will never hurt you, and I will never lie to you. That's a promise." He only hoped she would believe him... But he wouldn't blame her if she didn't. She'd just been given the shock of her life, after all.
Raeliel was forced to look at him. He was all blurry from the tears that threatened to spill over her cheeks. "Yeah, that's what I thought of Mirathin, too..." She sniffled, lifting her hands to rub at her eyes. "I just...I don't know who to trust anymore...how do I know?" She sniffled. She hated being so vulnerable in front of him, but...well, she was having a bit of a crisis. Her whole life had been turned topsy-turvy with this new realization.
"I'll do anything to prove it to you. Name it, and I'll do it." Saelhil dropped his hand from her cheek, wanting to give her space to think. He watched her earnestly, hoping she wouldn't get angry or burst into tears. They were supposed to be relaxing and happy here, not sad and confused.
Raeliel paused, something pulling to mind with him being so close. "..tell me what you thought and felt when we first danced." The question she had never gotten an answer to. But maybe the answer would reveal whether she could truly trust him. How, she didn't know. But maybe, just maybe, it would help make things better.
"What?" Saelhil paused. "...on our wedding day?" His brows came together a bit as he thought. How could he put his thoughts into words for her? "I..." He took a breath, wringing his mind to try and find the right words. "Honestly, I thought you looked beautiful... you are beautiful." He thought that sounded a bit shallow and vague, so he tried to build upon it. "I don't know what I was feeling. I... I suppose I felt like we were the only ones there. Sort of like a dream, I think. It was almost like when I used to be with Mirwen, and yet, it was completely different... a wonderful kind of different... I'm sorry, I'm not really good at describing my feelings." He breathed a sheepish laugh through his nose. "I felt like kissing you, though."
Raeliel nodded. "Yes. On our wedding day." She took in a couple more breaths to keep herself collected. When he called her beautiful, she felt her cheeks growing warm, but that warmth was broken when he mentioned it being like with Mirwen. There was another sick feeling in her stomach again, but this time it was different. It was jealousy once more. She hated when he talked about Mirwen, and she got terribly mad at herself for being so petty as to hate such a thing like that. When he got it all out, though, she looked at him carefully. And then he said he would kiss her, and her cheeks grew pink again! "R..really?"

{Night!}
"Mm. Really." Saelhil smiled a bit shyly at her, rubbing the back of his neck for a moment. He knew he probably shouldn't have mentioned Mirwen, but it was the truth. He had had the same feeling when he was around Mirwen, but now Raeliel was his wife, and it was a completely different feeling, and yet somehow similar. Not exactly a warm, muzzy feeling, but more breathless and awe-inspiring.

Raeliel was very quiet for a few moments, and then she reached out to touch his hand. "..I had similar feelings." She pulled her hand away and took in a deep breath, collecting herself. "Alright. Show me the rest of the house." She wasn't going to let Mirathin ruin her life. Saelhil may hurt her some day....but maybe he wouldn't.
