And Saelhil indeed agreed, realizing that Raeliel must not be used to the strong pulls of ocean tides. He led her back to shore, all the while retaining his strong grip on her hand, steadying her whenever a large wave would come and try to topple them back into the water. But they made it safely to the sand, just as the sun was beginning to set. How quickly the day had seemed to pass!
Raeliel sat down on the grass, sighing from the exhausting endeavor of trying to stay up out of the water! But just as she was lamenting her inability to really swim, she saw the sunset. She sucked in her breath and stared in awe. "..wow...it's so beautiful..." She had never seen a sunset as unadulterated as this. Normally her sunsets were through windows, dipping behind trees or buildings. But there was absolutely nothing stopping this sunset except what seemed like the edge of the world itself.
Saelhil sat down beside her, inhaling deeply as he pushed his wet hair back out of his face. At her words, he looked towards the western horizon, and smiled a bit. "It really is." He glanced over at Raeliel, the rays of red sunlight lighting up her skin and eyes with a warm tone. He smiled a bit more, then looked back towards the sunset in silence.
Raeliel simply stared at the sunset. She was too enraptured by it to even glance at Saelhil. Finally, though, when the world was cast into darkness, she looked over at him. "...I think that was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I've never seen a sunset like that before.." She looked around, then looked back to him. It was starting to get cold now, with the wet water on them and the sun gone. "Maybe we should head back to the house now?"
Saelhil nodded, and stood, offering his hand to her. "How about a nice bath, then we can get something to eat?" He smiled at her.
Raeliel took his hand and stood. "I think that sounds like a nice idea." She paused, looking at him for a few long moments. There was something about him. She didn't even know what, it was just something about him that drew her in. Before she even knew it, she had her arms wrapped around him, her head resting against his shoulder. It was almost scandalous, the skin-on-skin contact. She took in a deep breath and let it out, regaining control of herself and pulling away. She cleared her throat a little. "Thank you for helping me back there." She started walking with him. She couldn't understand why she kept wanting to push away or disguise any feelings for him.
Honestly, Saelhil was a bit surprised when she embraced him. Not that it was uncomfortable for him or weird, but just that it was... Raeliel. She wasn't a very... hug-y kind of person, much less while they were both dressed just enough to be modest while swimming. But he hugged her back for the few moments she had her arms around him, and made no attempt to question her about it, and simply smiled gently. "Of course. I wouldn't have let you drown." He began walking back up the path towards the house, keeping an even pace with her.
Raeliel just walked along quietly. Once they got to the house, she glanced at him. "Who will go first for the bath?" Unless he planned that they both go together. Thinking about it made her cheeks burn pink. They were married, but it kept showing how obviously they were married just in the legal term. She may have just hugged him, but that was not something she had thought about. It just had happened.
"I think you deserve one more than I do." Saelhil smiled at her, leading her upstairs. Surprisingly enough, the house had running water*. In the bathroom was a large tub, with various soaps and vials in a cabinet for their choosing, as well as some towels that seemed rather fresh. "Just get the water running and pick whichever soap you think smells best." He grinned a bit. "I'll be downstairs; take all the time you'd like." He motioned to the tub, then dipped his head and backed out to give her some privacy.
{*she mentioned plumbing or something earlier, so even though this is supposedly medieval, let's just have some nice indoor plumbing, hm? xD}

(Early plumbing was a thing! Look at the Romans/greek(can't remember which xD), they had indoor plumbing! Lol)
Raeliel watched him and then looked around the bathroom. "Alright, thank you." She picked out a soap while the water was running, then she undressed and got in once it was warm enough. It was nice to clean up. The ocean made her feel sticky and smelly. But she'd never really been in one, except for maybe perhaps once, so she wasn't too mad at the fact. Once she was all cleaned and washed, she got out. That was when she realized that she didn't have a change of clothes. She wrapped herself in the towel and peeked her head out. He'd said he would be downstairs, so that meant the coast should be clear. She quietly went over to their bedroom so she could get her nightgown and such to change into. (Just so you know I have to go to work soon for about 4 hours, but I might be able to post every now and then, depending xD)

{Yup, the Romans. I never knew if that meant like toilets or actual running water... hmmm... xD But Roman baths you know? awesome.}
{ach, speaking of which, I have to go for a while as well. I'll probably be back before you~ see ya!}

(Stuck at the front desk and unable to go do anything unless the other worker can come up from his spot, so I'll probably be able to post a bit xD)
Saelhil actually was downstairs, sorting through the kitchen for a few things. He had managed to put a stew together, which was now cooking over the fire he had made in the hearth. It was one of the few things he knew how to cook, but he knew how to cook it well, so he thought he would save Raeliel the trouble of making something. He paused when he heard some doors upstairs, and guessed that Raeliel was finished bathing. He would wait until she came downstairs to go up, just in case.
Raeliel finished getting dressed, and came downstairs to see what was cooking. "Hey." She smiled a bit. "What are you doing?" She looked at what he was cooking, and then glanced at him. It took a few moments for her to say anything else. "It's your turn for the bath." She touched his hand lightly, and that was it.
"Just making us dinner." Saelhil smiled at her, glancing her over. When she came closer, he could smell the soap she had used. Her soft hand brushed against his as he moved to go upstairs, and he ensured that his hand lingered for just a moment, letting her know that he was open to such gestures. It wasn't long before he had gotten a set of clothes and was relaxing in a bubbly bath.
Raeliel made sure that the dinner stayed warm while he was in the bath. She just stared down, her mind wandering. She closed her eyes. For a few moments, she was back home. Nobody else was around. The tutors were gone. It was just her and him. The man she cared for. Her came up behind her, held her in his arms. Caressed her face, brushed his fingers through her hair.
Raeliel gasped softly and opened her eyes, waking from the daydream. No. Not him. Not that traitor, she refused. She shook her head, then looked at the stew. It was great. She went over and sat down to wait for him.

{Poor Raeliel </3}
It was just a little while before Saelhil trotted down the stairs, barefoot, in his loose nightclothes. He felt refreshed and the smell of oranges (he did enjoy citrus-y smells) covered up his usual earthy scent. "Ready to eat?" he asked, moving to the kitchen to get two bowls and a ladle. He began to pour some of the stew into each bowl, but kept the pot hanging over the fire. "This is an old family recipe. I hope you like it."

(I know, right? Poor girl's been through so much!)
Raeliel looked up as she saw him coming down. "Yes, thank you." She took the bowl, and as he handed it to her she caught the citrus smell that was now on his skin. Her face flushed. It wasn't fair of him to smell so good. She ate the stew quietly, taking a few bites before commenting on it. "It's delicious, Saelhil." She quieted for the rest of their little meal, focusing on eating the stew. All the swimming had given her an appetite. When they were finished, she helped wash the dishes, and get everything cleaned up. She caught a glimpse of the stars through the window and paused, staring out at them.

{Gosh Sael be better at comforting her!}
"Thank you." Saelhil nodded and smiled at the compliment. He ate quietly as well, watching the fire for a while. Eventually, as they were washing dishes, he began to steal glances at her. She was quieter than usual. Was something the matter? He was putting away the last of dinner when he noticed her attention caught by the window. He came up beside her. "Want to get a better look?" he asked softly, as to not scare her out of her daze.

(Lol! x3)
Raeliel was surprised when he spoke to her, but not startled. She looked over at him for a moment, then nodded. It was a beautiful night out, and surely if there was a better view, she wanted it. She let him show her to where he had in mind, curious as ever as to what he wanted to show her. Perhaps they would simply go outside, or perhaps he had a special place in mind.
