Raeliel didn't bother making a comment. Terrible? It saved her tears when she had to come all this way and live in a strange new land. The only goodbyes were for her escort, her bodyguard since she was young. Him, she would miss. When they reached the house, she glanced at him. "Thank you for the tour. Can you take me to where I will be staying?" She just wanted to hide from him until dinner. She could only handle this situation for so long.
When she reached her room, she would insist she didn't need anything, and then shut the door and look around. It was her last night or two by herself. She sank down to sit on the floor and take in a deep breath. Her fingers were shaking, so she pressed them together. "My people, my kingdom, my lord." she whispered to herself. It was her mantra, to remind herself what was most important. Her people, her kingdom, and her father (and his orders). "My people, my kingdom, my lord. My people, my kingdom, my lord."

Saelhil watched her door after she shut it for a few moments, then shook his head and turned away. He headed out of the house to spend some time in the woods before dinner; he needed to spend some time to think and compose himself. It was obvious she had come with the intention of hating him, hating his people. She ought herself so high and mighty... Was his village truly a tribe to her? He sighed heavily and climbed up into a tree to get some solace.
After about an hour, there was a quiet knock on Raeliel's door. Talainna stood in the hall, waiting. She needed to get her hairbrush from her dresser, and besides that, she decided she wanted to see if her new sister-in-law would actually speak to her, or simply stay in her room all night.

Raeliel had fallen asleep, quite by accident. She had tried some meditating to feel better about her situation, and ended up sleeping! At the knock, she woke, finding herself on the floor. "One moment." She got up and rubbed her face, then walked over to the door. She checked herself quickly to make sure her appearance was suitable, and opened the door. She blinked, but then looked down. Oh, the girl. "Hello. Talainna, was it? Is there something you need?" This was the girl's room, after all. She might need some things from it. Pajamas or something. Raeliel paused. Had she slept through dinner? Probably not. Right?
"When will dinner be ready, Talainna?" The girl would probably know.

Talainna looked upwards, watching Raeliel. She shyly smiled. "Dinner will be on the table soon, once Brother returns," she said. "He went out for a bit." The young girl quietly entered the room, searching her dresser for her comb. After a few moments, she pulled it out of a drawer.
She paused, however, when she moved towards the door. "Lady Raeliel?" Her voice was cautious. "In your village... Are there... Are there any princesses?" She grew quieter as she spoke, as if she were afraid to ask.

(I'm going to bed after this post, I'll respond tomorrow! And I don't have work )
Raeliel stepped aside to let her in. "Alright, thank you." She watched the girl, and lifted a brow as the question was asked. "Yes, Talainna?" She listened and shook her head slightly. "There are no princesses, or kings. But there are lords and ladies. My father is a lord, and he is the head of the town. I am a lady, because I am his daughter. So I'm the town equivalent to a princess. Princesses are for larger areas, like a kingdom, not just a town." She spoke calmly, kindly, since the girl seemed so afraid. "Thank you for letting me stay in your room for a couple nights, Talainna." It was better than sharing a bed with Saelhil.

{Yay!}
Talainna listened, eyes wide with wonder and clutching her comb tightly. She had always been told stories of beautiful princesses, with their luxurious lifestyles and their pretty gowns and fair hair. She, of course, was dark-featured and lived an extremely simple life. Not that she was complaining, no! But... She could always dream, couldn't she...?
"Oh." She bit her lip and nodded. "Of course, Lady Raeliel..." The girl swallowed and paused as if she was going to continue speaking, but she seemed to think against it and quickly made her way towards the door.

Raeliel recognized the look in the child's eyes, and smiled a little. "Talainna. You know, thinking about it...I'm the equivalent of a princess because my father reigns over my town. Your father reigns over your village, so that makes you the equivalent of a princess as well." She paused, then gave a little bow. "I should start calling you Lady Talainna, then." She looked at the little girl and smiled.
Raeliel wasn't a bad person. The environment she'd grown up in was set for her to think she was better than everyone else, that her people were better than everyone else. But that didn't give her any reason to be mean to a little girl.

Talainna stopped, glancing back at Raeliel. Her dark eyes were sparkling with childish fantasy. "R-Really?" she asked cautiously, though she couldn't help from smiling at the thought. She tugged slightly on her braid.
"Sometimes... Sometimes I pretend to be a princess," the girl admitted. "But it doesn't always work out since I like to play too much." She smiled shyly at Raeliel.

Raeliel saw a wonderful opportunity in this! "I could teach you how to be a proper princess, Talainna. I was taught to be one from a very young age, younger than you!" She smiled at the girl. "If you would like, I can teach you how to be a princess. Since you are one, after all!" This was luck. The little girl WANTED to be more civilized! She wanted to be a princess! Maybe if Raeliel was able to teach Talainna manners, then the others would follow her lead when they saw how wonderful it was.
"What do you think, lady Talainna? Would you like to learn how to be a proper princess?"
"What do you think, lady Talainna? Would you like to learn how to be a proper princess?"
Talainna's eyes lit up. "Would you really?" she gasped in amazement. "That would be the best thing in the world if you would!" She did an excited little spin. "Yes, I want to learn to be a proper princess!" The little girl grinned happily, hopefully at Raeliel.
(I'm going out to the store and my grandma's for a bit, I'll post when I'm home or if I can get on the net at her house )
Raeliel smiled. "Of course I will! I'd be happy to teach you, Lady Talainna. We'll start at dinner. I can show you how a proper princess eats. Then you can surprise your brother and father! Doesn't that sound nice? I'm sure they'll be very proud of you for being a proper princess." She smiled at the little girl, finding herself rather excited. She had always been the one who was taught, not the one who was teaching. Talainna's excitement made her feel happy. She quite looked forward to this. All her lessons back home weren't for nothing now! Now, she could teach someone else.

{See you then~ }
Talainna grinned and nodded eagerly. Her heart skipped a happy beat when Raeliel called her a lady. She then giggled a bit. "Maybe you can teach Brother how to be a prince!" she suggested, then giggled again. Something caught her attention in the hall, and she backed up a bit.
"I think Brother's home. Dinner should be ready soon!" The little girl flashed a bright smile at her new mentor and dashed out of the room, wanting to tell her big brother the good news, and of course greet him after missing him all day long.

(Or not quite! Mom's not ready to leave yet )
Raeliel chuckled. "Yes, maybe. I'm sure if he sees you behaving like a princess, he'll want to be a prince!" When she spoke of dinner being soon because he was home, Raeliel nodded. "Alright." When she dashed away, Raeliel chuckled again and shook her head, smiling. Such energy. She went back into the room to get ready, then left the hall and went to the dining area. It'd be hard to teach her good posture in a place like this. At home, she'd had flat, hard-backed chairs to practice with. It was obvious when one slouched in a chair like that.
She ran into Talainna and Saelhil, and smiled at the little girl. Then she looked at Saelhil. She considered him carefully, then gave a small smile. "Welcome back, Saelhil." she said calmly. "Talainna, are you ready for your first lesson?"

(Ok, NOW she is ready lol. I'll respond later!)
{Haha, see ya!}
"Hm!" Talainna nodded happily, smiling. Saelhil quirked a brow, then tucked a stray hair behind his ear.
"Thank you," he said hesitantly, then glanced over Raeliel. He was unsure about these lessons Talainna told him about just a few moments ago.

(At grandparents. Their internet is working well for once!)
Raeliel smiled and made her way to the dining hall, sitting down with Talainna beside her. "It's hard to do with these chairs, but look and see how I'm sitting. Now sit down like it. On your knees, hands folded in your lap." She spoke gently, smiling. "Keep your head up. Your chin should be level with the floor. Now..." she reached over and dragged her finger lightly up Talainna's spine. "See how you move when that happens, because it tickles? See how your shoulders went back when my finger moved up? Keep your shoulders back like that." She smiled.

{Yay! xD}
Talainna absorbed the information, nodding eagerly. She adjusted herself to that her legs tucked neatly beneath her, and she kept her chin raised slightly. The girl managed to push back her shoulders, although it was obvious that she had never sat in that way before. "Like this?" she asked hesitantly.
Saelhil sat in his usual way, watching curiously. His sister seemed quite stiff and uncomfortable, and he hadnt the slightest idea of why she suddenly wanted to be "proper" by Raeliel's standards. However, he said nothing as the food was set onto the table.

Raeliel smiled and helped with her hands, pressing gently at her shoulders and chest. "Yes, like that! Good job!" She looked at her and nodded. "It kinda hurts at first because you're used to slouching. It hurt for me too. But soon you'll stop hurting. See how you hold yourself so proudly? That is the mark of a princess! Princesses don't slouch, because it doesn't look pretty. So you can tell a princess when she sits up straight! You can lower your head when you eat, you don't have to keep your head stiff. But try to eat with your back straight."
She smiled and demonstrated for Talainna as the food was set. "See? Don't I look pretty and clean when I eat like this?"

Talainna nodded again, mimicking everything Raeliel did. The young girl looked pretty cute trying to act refined, but she showed promise by keeping her posture and eating delicately, just as Raeliel did. After a while, she looked over at Saelhil, grinning. "What do you think, Brother? Do I look like a princess?"
Saelhil studied his little sister, then smiled slightly. "Mm. You have to be the prettiest little princess I have ever seen." He chuckled slightly, and was glad Talainna was enjoying herself, even though he was rather wary of Raeliel teaching Talainna.

Raeliel smiled happily, watching her. "You're doing great, Talainna! You have so much promise!" She finished eating, then looked at Saelhil. She noticed that he wasn't so fond of it. But he'd be appreciative when she was done and his sister was a perfect princess. "What do you think? Do you feel more like a princess, Talainna?" She waited, and looked around. "Does anything usually happen after supper?"
