Raeliel was at first afraid of his absence, but then she saw the note. Painfully, she got to her feet. Her torso throbbed with pain, her limbs ached, but she made her way to the house that she had stayed in that first night in the village. She knew she probably didn't look so good. Her clothes were dry from the river but smelled of river water, and her hair wasn't brushed at all, and she was bandaged and bruised. But she had to know what was going on. She knocked on the door, hoping that Saelhil hadn't been gone long.

After a moment, Saelhil came and answered the door, instead of the servant. He quickly kissed Raeliel's cheek and without a word brought her inside, leading her to the sitting room so she could sit beside him. His father sat opposite of them, looking worried.

"Ah, Raeliel. I am sorry you have gotten hurt so much lately," the man apologized with a dip of his head. "I trust my son is taking care of you, though?"

Raeliel opened her mouth to speak to Saelhil, but he brought her in quickly, so she remained quiet. She sat down beside Saelhil and smiled slightly at his father. "Thank you, sir. Yes, he is, very much so." She glanced at Saelhil. She was concerned. What was all of this about? She looked back to the man and quieted, waiting for him to discuss what he had asked them there for.

Thortharion nodded. "Good, good. Also, I want to thank you for saving Elion," he said, referring to Eli. He paused for a moment. "Once Elion was returned home, he seemed troubled about something. He led his mother to the forest and found... well, he had seen a human camp across the river."

Saelhil took Raeliel's hand. "It's only a small camp, but Father sent out his scouts, and there were human camps spotted for miles, even around your village. It's probably why Eli tried to cross the river, to find out why humans were there."

"I've sent word to your father," Thortharion continued, "but I don't know what these humans have planned, or why they are here. If it is for offensive reasons, I would prefer to get your father's insight before taking any action."

Raeliel grew tense when they mentioned humans. She held onto Saelhil's hand tightly, becoming all too aware of her short hair as she remembered what caused it. "...Yes. Yes, that's probably the best course of action.." She swallowed nervously. "...Father may send an advisor, if he deems the situation extreme. He won't come himself, but this way you have someone to talk to directly without having to wait for messages to get back and forth. This advisor knows everything my father would do, it is very rare that he ever needs to actually consult my father before making a decision." She was worried.

Thortharion nodded. "I was hoping for your father, but I think it best that he stays with your people." He shifted in his seat. "I am only worried because humans rarely come here, much less in such numbers..."

"Father, should it be an attack, what will we do to protect the village?" Saelhil asked, watching his father carefully. "We haven't had an attack in decades."

"I don't know... yet. I will start preparations for any situation." Thortharian watched them, then stood and went to do whatever it was that needed done.

Raeliel listened to them and just stayed quiet. When he left, she stood up. "Let's go home." She was worried, it was written all over her face. Her encounter with the man from the shore had strengthened any fear she had of humans. "...please." She held onto his hand. If war broke out...she didn't even want to think about it. Saelhil would be called to fight. She suddenly hugged him, unable to hold him tightly because of her injuries.

(Gonna stop posting for a bit, going to Dunkin to have lunch, which I worked through )

Saelhil blinked as she hugged him, but returned the embrace. After a while, he pulled away enough to look at her. "Don't worry, Rae," he said quietly, the nickname slipping out easily. "Everything will be alright." He kissed her forehead. "For now, the scouts will make sure no humans cross the river. You're safe." He took her hands and squeezed them, then led her home.

Raeliel was surprised when he used her nickname, but it made her smile. His words, however, made her sigh. "It's not me I'm worried about, Sael." She would walk back to the house, weighted by this serious dilemma. (And now, a short nap. After nap and supper i will be on for the rest of the night lol)

Saelhil sighed, but nodded. Once they were inside, he headed to the kitchen. "There's a bit of medicine if you need it, for the pain," he told her softly. He pulled out a bottle from a drawer, glancing at her.

(Posting, then food, then I should be on for a whiiile )

Raeliel looked at him. Was it that obvious that it hurt to move? "...I suppose a little bit." She sighed slightly. She was still rather sore. But the boy was alright. That made it worth it. She smiled a little at Saelhil. Just a little. Her mind was terribly preoccupied now with potential impending disaster. She was scared for her husband, and for all the elves.

Saelhil nodded and poured a bit of the translucent green liquid into a small cup. "It's herbs and such... It should just taste a little bitter." He held it out to her, kissing her forehead. He, too, was thinking about the potential war. He had never fought a day in his life, and his quarrel with Mirathin was proof. His people were a peaceful people; they didn't have many weapons or anything to start with, just their skills in the trees. How would they survive a war with brutish humans?

Raeliel smiled slightly, just slightly, as he kissed her forehead. She drank the cup's contents quickly, then set it down. "...what time is it?" She had lost all track of time, with being unconscious for so long. She felt hungry, too. "...whatever time it is, I feel that it's a mealtime." She chuckled slightly, but that action hurt, so she stopped. She was in no state for a battle. If something happened, she wouldn't be able to help. Tears suddenly welled up in her eyes. She could lose Saelhil, without being able to do anything to stop it. She grabbed onto his shirt, hiding her face against him and just holding his shirt tightly in her hands, keeping him there. "Please. Please stay by me today..." She didn't want to be so whiny or needy or pathetic, but when something like war might happen...she just wanted to be with him as much as she could.

"Rae..." Saelhil hugged her, one arm firmly around her waist, the other hand gently pressed against the back of her head. He kissed the top of her head. "...I'll stay with you. I'll stay right here until we get word back from your father," he promised, and that was all he could promise, as he didn't know what might happen if it was bad news that would return.

Raeliel was so glad that he was dedicated to her. She stayed like that with him for a few long moments, then took in a deep breath and let it out. "...let's make something to eat." She walked into the kitchen with him, holding his hand. "What do you want?" Even though she wasn't happy, she was still very hungry. But she didn't know if he'd eaten while she slept or not.

"Well, someone dropped off some things while you were resting," Saelhil mentioned, glancing at her.

Raeliel looked at him. "Someone dropped off some things? What do you mean?" She was curious. She looked around, to try and spot these 'things' he mentioned. She hoped it was good, and not some weird nature elf stuff.

"Food," Saelhil clarified. "It would be easier than cooking, hm?" He opened the cupboard, where he had stored away the gifts.

Raeliel nodded. "That sounds pretty good." She chuckled. "Yeah...it would." She let him get the things out and she sat down, being careful because of her pain. The medicine was starting to help, though, and that was good. "Who dropped it off?" She looked at him, watching. She wasn't sure how to feel if it was Mirwen.
