Raeliel bowed her head a little. "Please just let me know if you need any more advice or opinion." She got to her feet, and looked at Saelhil. "Come on. We have to get ready too." She took his hand and walked with him back to the house. Once in the house, she paused, then turned to face him. "...I want to cut your hair." It twisted her stomach up just to say it, but... "I don't want them to have an advantage over you like they did for me.." She touched his cheek, tears welling in her eyes again. She quickly looked away. "..when do you march for the first battle." It hurt, saying 'you' and not 'we'.
Saelhil watched her, and closed his eyes for a moment, before opening them again. He rested his hand over hers on his cheek. "Thank you," he said softly. He took her hand and kissed the back of it. "We leave soon... Not until at least tomorrow, hopefully the day after." His voice was low and quiet, lacking its usual cheerfulness.
Raeliel took in a soft breath, then nodded. "..alright." She took his hand and went upstairs with him, having him sit down so that she could cut his hair. Before she would start, though, she looked at him. "...are you sure you're okay with this, Saelhil?" She'd had her hair cut unwillingly, she didn't want to do the same to him. Certainly not. If he gave her permission, though, she would cut his hair.
Saelhil nodded after a moment. "I don't need it in my way, and I'd rather not get dragged around by my hair." He attempted a smile, but it was weak and very forced. "Cut it short," he said with a bit of difficulty. "I can't have wind blocking my aim."
Raeliel felt like there was a rock in her stomach. She started to cut, making sure it was short, but not too short. She was trying to preserve as much of his elven pride as she could. When it was done, she cleaned up the hair and went to sit in his lap. The depression weighed on the house like a thick cloud. She wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his shoulder, trying not to think about what tomorrow would bring. They still had most of the day together, but how could they enjoy it when their moods were so downcast?
Once she was finished, Saelhil briefly ran a hand through his hair. It made him cringe a bit, but it was necessary. he held Raeliel close, shutting his eyes and just inhaling her perfume, committing it to memory.
Raeliel saw the cringe, and it was like a hammer to the chest. She shut her eyes tightly and hid her face in his neck, holding onto him. She felt like she was going to cry again. She couldn't believe this was happening. She held him close, trying to just memorize everything about him. She kissed his neck softly and nuzzled into him. She felt so devastated.
Saelhil felt the skin on his neck tingle at her gentle kisses and nuzzles, and he shivered a bit. He shifted slightly so that he could kiss her cheek in return. Staying silent seemed like the best option for now, as words felt like they would just make the situation worse. After a while, he took Raeliel to the bed {assuming he was in a chair at a desk or something} and lay down with her, but instead of simply cuddling he began to kiss her, having to give her enough affection to last her for however long he would be away at battle. But how could kissing and cuddling be enough for his going off to war?
Raeliel let him pick her up, holding onto him even as he carried her. She felt like she must weigh a ton, given how heavy her heart felt in her chest. As they settled in bed, she was surprised that he kissed her. Of course, she kissed him back. Over and over again, as many kisses as they could share. She stayed close to him, wanting to be close, wanting to be in his arms for as long as she could before he had to leave. Her fingers stroked through his short hair, playing with his locks while they kissed. Kissing and cuddling wouldn't be enough. And somewhere during their loving, heartfelt kisses, Raeliel realized that. Even so, she didn't act on it. She had no idea if he felt the same way.
Saelhil began to get a bit restless, realizing what he wanted to do to show her how much he loved her. But of course he had little idea how to go about it, and he daren't just blatantly ask or simply proceed without her agreement, so he decided the best course of action for now was to introduce the idea before doing anything else. After a few moments, he slowly shifted so that he was leaning over her, in a sort of dominant position. He rested a gentle hand against her hip, but did nothing else, lest she feel intimidated and refuse him.
Raeliel let the movement happen. This was certainly different from any other time they'd kissed. She continued to kiss him, adding a little bit of heat into the kiss to help give him the sign that she was alright with this. They were married, after all. And though she got uncomfortable talking about children, she realized this may be the first, and potentially the last, time they would ever be able to truly be a married couple, joined in heart, spirit, mind and body. Hopefully no one knocked this time though.

{On it x3 I think they would appreciate their privacy; we have no right to be there xD
I'm kinda awkward at skips so ah... just afterwards x3}
Saelhil pulled Raeliel closer, wrapping his arms more tightly around her. It was a wonderful feeling, knowing that his intense love for her was returned so readily. He gently placed a few more kisses on her face, cooling down from their previously passionate kissing. Thankfully, they had been uninterupted, as everyone in the village was getting ready for battle. How strange... they were being intimate while outside their room, a war was brewing. It seemed almost forbidden to do such a thing, but it also seemed like perfect timing, in its own strange way.

(Lol as far as skips go, whatever works is fine with me xD And yes, they probably like their privacy )
Raeliel snuggled up against him, smiling softly as he kissed her face. Well, she wasn't blushing at him being shirtless now. But that was probably a good thing, girl needed to get over her shyness anyways. "I love you." she said softly, as if they hadn't said it enough already. There in bed, wrapped up in his arms, she wished that time would just stop. That she could stay this way forever, and ignore the war.

"I love you so, so much," Saelhil whispered in return, smiling gently and he nuzzled her. It seemed so peaceful there, so happy. Was there really a war? Were humans truly going to attack them? All that seemed so far away... But he realized he would eventually have to go out and ready himself for battle and make sure his bowmanship was still fine-tuned. He dreaded the thought of leaving Raeliel's arms, of fighting with the knowledge that she was far away. But he couldn't let her fight... he couldn't. If she got hurt, or captured, or killed, his entire life would shatter.
Raeliel snuggled into him, breathing in deeply, trying to memorize everything about him. She, too, could feel that the time was nearing when he had to leave and prepare. "I love you more than anything, Sael. More than anything or anyone." She would kill her own father if it meant saving Sael, though that may not be saying much with what her father did to her all her years. She lay there with him for a few long, perfect moments. But the realization of war and the knowledge that he would have to leave soon kept weighing heavily on her heart. "...I'll be waiting, Saelhil. I'll be waiting for you to come back."
Saelhil grazed his hand over her skin, before reaching up to play with her hair. He kissed her softly for just a moment. "I promise you that I will always come back to you," he said firmly, looking her in the eyes for a few moments. He would do whatever it took to stay alive, to come home to his wife. He shifted a bit, and reluctantly sat up. His heart wrenched just from pulling himself away from Raeliel, now that he had given her absolutely everything. The bond they shared was dangerously close, dangerous because it meant their decisions would change depending on how it affected each other. Instead of the right decisions, they might make ones based on emotions and not on rationality. But he didn't care; he loved her more than anything, and he was more than happy to share that bond with her.
Raeliel kissed him back, savoring the touch of his hand. She was surprised at his promise; he had always been so hesitant to promise things that he wasn't sure he could keep. But it made her smile. She watched as he sat up, and she did as well, if only to stay close to him for a little while longer. She held onto his arm and rested her head on his shoulder. How terrible would life be, once he left? How would she be able to stand sleeping in this empty bed? She took in a shaky breath. "I will miss you....I will miss you so much..."
Saelhil gripped her hand tightly. "I want you to stay with me," he said softly, "but... I can't risk you getting hurt. Not after what that human did." He kissed her cheek. "You understand, don't you?"
Raeliel held his hand and looked into his eyes. "..I understand. Doesn't mean I like it." She sighed. "I can't risk being a distraction to you in battle, either..." She took in a shaky breath and let it out. She wrapped her arms around him and held him close.
Saelhil hugged her tightly, savoring her warmth for just one more time. He held her for a long time, then he heard some ruckus outside. He reluctantly pulled away. "...it sounds like everyone is getting ready," he said softly, sighing.
