Raeliel watched him, smiling as he touched her cheek with his fingers in her hair. She took in a deep breath and let it out. "I love you. I don't know what all we could do...I just want to spend every single moment of it with you." She leaned in and kissed him deeply. What did people do the last night they would see each other? She had no idea, but all she wanted was to just be with him.
Saelhil returned her kiss just as affectionately, letting it go on for a little while before parting. They couldn't go out to the woods; humans were lurking about. They were stuck in the village for the night, so what were they to do? He loved just being there with her, so that seemed like a good option for now.
Raeliel looked at his hair, touched it with her fingers. What would she want to do, if she knew that this was the last time she would ever see him again? "I love you more than anything, Saelhil. More than myself. More than anything." She wrapped her arms around him and leaned in to kiss him again. If there was one thing she wanted to do, it would be to let him know that she loved him beyond measure.
Saelhil closed his eyes for a moment as she played with his hair. "And I love you even more, Raeliel." He eagerly responded to her kiss, feeling the warmth plunge through him.
Raeliel held the kiss for as long as they could, and when it was over, she kissed his cheek, and then whispered softly in his ear. After her whispering, she got up and took his hand, leading him up to their bedroom. They had already talked, shared their dreams with each other. All that was left to do for this final night was to express their love for each other. And there was only one way to give their love justice.

{Oh what a lovely lead-in xD}
The next morning, Saelhil awoke before dawn, dreading what was to come in the next few hours. He held Raeliel close, shutting his eyes tightly, praying that the war had been called off, or the humans had retreated or something that would allow him to stay with his wife.

(I do my best )
Raeliel was sleeping soundly, nestled in his arms. She gave a soft yawn after a little while, her eyes fluttering open. "Sael.." She smiled and leaned in to kiss him softly, her foggy mind still unaware of what that morning would bring. At the moment, all that existed was her and Saelhil.

Saelhil smiled sadly and kissed her in return for a moment. "Good morning, my love," he whispered softly, nuzzling her cheek. His heart wrenched, but he wanted to savor these last few moments with her.
Raeliel nuzzled back against him. "Good morning..." She looked at him and noticed the sad look, and knew immediately what was wrong. "...I love you." She wrapped her arms around him and held him close. He was leaving today.
"I love you so, so much. No matter what happens, remember that, okay?" Saelhil smiled softly, and kissed her forehead.
Raeliel felt her heart dropping. "...Okay. I will remember that. And you must remember that I love you as well, no matter what happens." She stayed close against him, just trying to hold onto these last few moments. Make them last forever in her mind, in her dreams.
"I will never forget it." Saelhil hugged her tightly, staying like that for a while, before he heard a few shouts on the street. They were calling for those who were to leave. He felt his stomach tighten, and he gulped. He kissed Raeliel deeply for as long as he dared, then got out of bed so that he could get dressed.
Raeliel felt her heart drop as she heard the call. She kissed him back, and then got up to get dressed as well. She wanted to try to watch him, yet again. Even though it would be so very, very hard. She took in a deep breath and let it out, then gave him one last, long hug. "Be safe."
"And you as well." Saelhil hugged her tightly, lingering there for a moment before kissing her briefly and pulling away. "I love you so, so, so much." He smiled at her. "I will see you soon!" And with that, he left, trying to leave on a happy note, as it made it easier for him.
Raeliel smiled, just a little, and watched him as he left. She rushed to the window and stared as he walked off, and if he looked back, she would wave to him. Well...now he was truly gone. Her heart ached terribly. How was she going to handle him being away?

{Alright!}
Soon, all the men and women who chose to fight were gone, and everyone left moved into the safe houses. There was an uncharacteristic quiet among the people, who were full of fear and sorrow for their loved ones who had gone off to face the humans.

During this time of sorrow, Raeliel was determined not to show her own weakness. Instead, she was resolved to be strong. She would lead the people to the safe houses and make sure they had plenty of supplies. She set a look-out in case anyone came by, and made sure that everyone was there and counted for.
(Probably gonna do one of my half-hour straightenings, I'll post when i'm back!)

A few days passed, with no word or sign of trouble near the village. Early one morning, however, some of the supplies had disappeared, namely food and some medical supplies. Very few people were awake, so presumably, no one had noticed yet.
Raeliel didn't sleep often. She was the one to first notice that supplies were gone, and she frowned. What had happened to her look-out? she went through the safe houses, trying to find any of the missing supplies. If they weren't found there, then she would start carefully, slowly meandering around the safehouses and trying to find if anyone had stolen something.
(NOW I'm going on my halfhour thing xD)
