Raeliel ran to him, wrapping her arms around him and kissing him deeply. She pulled away after the kiss and took the place of the warrior, helping him walk along. "Here, let me help. Come on, I need to introduce you to someone." She smiled softly at him. "You would not believe who I met today." She walked along with him, letting him lean on her as much as he needed to.

(I won't be able to post for a few hours soon. Got to eat soon, work is in an hour, and then right after two hours of work I have an hourish of a meeting, then after that I'm running down the street to the library I may be able to post between the meeting and the library, though.)

(Correction; I WILL be able to post between the meeting and library. Realized they are separated by about an hour xD)

"Who?" Saelhil blinked, following her. He had to depend heavily on her to keep his balance, as his leg was wrapped and there was a bit of blood seeping through, telling of a pretty serious wound. But he went along without complaint.

Inside, Talainna was trying to make friends with Valenthion, but the boy didn't look very happy about it.

Raeliel got saelhil inside and sat him down, then would go about properly bandaging his wound. "Saelhil, this is Valenthion. Valenthion, this is my husband, Saelhil." She looked at sael calmly. "He was caught stealing supplies, his leg was hurt. He's a blind half-elf, do you believe it?" She murmured her words very quietly to her husband. (Gotta go now, work then meeting!)

{Okie doke!}

"Mm. Hello, Valenthion." Saelhil looked over at the boy, smiling a bit. "Will you be staying long?"

"I'm only staying until my leg heals," Valthion said stiffly. He couldn't hear Raelhil's words, but he knew she was talking about him, as everyone did when they saw a half-elf, and a blind one no less.

"How unfortunate. We would love to have you here." Saelhil studied Valenthion, then glanced at Raeliel. He had a look of disbelief on his face. The half-elf he had met long ago was not this young boy; was this is brother, or a completely unrelated half-elf?

Raeliel lifted a brow. "You mean, until the war is over. You're not going anywhere while this war is happening, you'd get killed." She kissed Saelhil's cheek and held him close. "Valenthion is a troublemaker," she said, in a normal volume. "Guess we'll have to have Talainna teach him manners." She smirked, a slightly teasing tone to her voice. "Anyways...how did the battle go?" She was almost afraid to ask. "..how many did we lose..?"

Saelhil chuckled, watching Talainna giggle and move so that she sat down beside Valenthion. "I'll teach him to be a prince!" she assured them, and Valenthion pushed her away, but she only giggled again and hugged Valenthion.

"The battle went fine. We didn't lose anyone, actually..." Saelhil quieted a bit. "It's as if the humans weren't even trying. They're lousy shots, as well. Some of their archers were trying to fire back at us, but I only got an arrow in my leg. If they were aiming to kill, they weren't doing a very good job. They retreated yesterday, but their camps are still there. It's strange, really."

(Woop going early be back within a half hour!)

Raeliel wasnt sure whether the humans were bad fighters or planning something. "Well, we should consider ourselves blessed that we didn't lose anyone. But don't underestimate them. They may be plotting." She looked at him. "I'm just glad you are back safe." She smiled gently.

"That's what I was thinking," Saelhil said, taking her hand. He leaned forehead and kissed her gently. "I promised I would be back, and here I am." He smiled at her and nuzzled her forehead.

Raeliel smiled at him as he kissed her. "Yes. Here you are." She paused and looked down at his leg. "Will you be able to go back to fight in the condition you're in?" He had been limping. Surely he couldn't leaf-walk with his leg so injured.

"Not right now," Saelhil said. "The captain deemed me unable to fight until I could leaf-walk again, and it was hard just walking on the ground back here." He smiled a bit. "But that means I can keep an eye on things... and you." He chuckled quietly.

(Gotta go to a meeting, be back in an hour or so!)

Raeliel smiled in relief. "Is it terrible that this makes me happy?" She chuckled softly and wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. "I'm so glad you're safe." Finally, though, she turned back to Valenthion. "Would you like to get some sleep, Valenthion, or are you still hungry?"

"Anything to be alone for a bit," Valenthion muttered, trying to push Talainna away, who was giggling and hugging him because she realized it made him uncomfortable. Talainna grabbed Valenthion's hand and stood up.

"I'll show him a spare room," Talainna offered cheerfully. Without waiting for permission, she skipped off, dragging the poor half-elf behind her.

(On for the rest of the night~)

Raeliel watched Talainna. "Talainna, leave him alone once you show him the room." She didn't want him trying to run off because of her. But speaking of alone...the two children leaving left her and Saelhil alone. She held him close, simply keeping him in her arms. "I'm so glad you're safe. I was so worried, the whole day. I kept waiting to hear any bit of news." It would be hard, doing this day after day. But now that he was hurt, he would stay with her, at least until he was healed. "I love you."

"Mm!" Talainna called with a giggle. Obviously she had picked up the habit of just making a hum for conformation from her older brother.

"You needn't worry. Everyone is safe for now." Saelhil smiled and kissed her. "I love you so, so much."

Raeliel smiled at him. "Yes. Everyone is safe for now." For now, that is. But that didn't matter. She kissed him back. "Are you hungry? I'm sure you are. Come on, we'll go over and get you something to eat." She stood, ready to help him walk again.

"Mm... I'm starved." Saelhil stood, leaning against Raeliel for support. "I've missed your cooking so much," he murmured longingly.

Raeliel blushed. "It's only been a little while, love." She walked along with him, then sat him down and helped the others with getting all the food prepared. When it was all ready, she gave some to Saelhil and sat down with him. "...how was it? The battles."

Saelhil took a few bites, and sighed with satisfaction. "The battles were invigorating," he told her. "The first day, we took the humans be surprise at dawn, as they were marching out through the forest. At first they went to attack the elves from the northern village, but our archers rained a storm of arrows down on them. Those humans didn't even wear helmets, so their losses were rather staggering the first day. Mostly we stayed in the trees, above the humans, but on the third day we ambushed a small group of humans, jumping down at them from the trees with swords. Their faces were priceless..." He smiled a bit, remembering it. "Someone was even shooting them in close combat with their bow... I feel sorry for anyone who got an elvish arrow in his filthy human hide." His face was that of a true man remembering a victorious battle, filled with pride for his people and spite for their enemies. "I wish you could have been there to see it."
