(Sorry, trying to do homework and other things)
Raeliel shrugged. "Alright. Suit yourself. You have to stay inside though, so you might want to find something to do." She smiled a little and just sat there, watching everyone around her. It was curious, but she still felt like something was missing, even though Saelhil was just a room away.

"Come play with me!" Talainna smiled, taking his hand in both of hers excitedly.
Valenthion frowned slightly, pulling away. "Uh, yeah. No thanks. I'd really rather not play little kiddy games."
"No, I promise it'll be fun." Talainna twirled around a bit, grinning broadly. She took his wrist and led him off somewhere, presumably to play a game.

Raeliel sighed. "Talainna, be nice!" She watched them leave, then stood up and went to go take care of some of her other duties. She had a lot to get done, after all. Wounded to take care of and feed, soldiers to feed, and all the kids and elderly to take care of. She had a busy job. But at least it kept her mind off the fact that she wasn't by Saelhil's side for now.
Saelhil had slept for a good few hours before he got up and came looking for Raeliel. He had found a bit of a cane to ease the pain of his leg, and he searched the safehouses, looking for his wife. He just wanted to be with her, even if he couldn't help her with whatever she was doing.
Raeliel was just finishing dishing out food to everyone when she saw Saelhil. She smiled brightly and helped him sit down, then dished out food for him as well. "How did you sleep?" She smiled and pet his head gently, then leaned in to kiss him. "You're walking though, that's good. I'm glad." She was very happy. She absolutely loved him.
Saelhil kissed her in return, smiling. "Wonderfully, thank you." He reached over and held her hand for a moment, just smiling at her, then he began to eat. He kept watching Raeliel, just so happy to be back with her. Sure, he had been away for only about a week or so, but it seemed like eternity to be without her.
Raeliel stayed close to him. "I'm glad. Is your leg feeling any better? Is it less pain, or more pain? Or is it the same?" She was worried, she wanted to make sure that he didn't get worse. The humans wouldn't have poison arrows, would they? But the effects would already be kicking in if it was a poisoned arrow, right?
"About the same." Saelhil smiled gently at her. "I'm sure it'll start healing in a few days, though. Those human arrows are pretty crude... It wouldn't be a quick death if they actually managed to hit a vital organ; they're terribly made." He ate a bit more, chewing thoughtfully.
Raeliel frowned. "Let's not speak of that. Let's focus on something else. What should we do while you're here? I don't want you overworking yourself when you're supposed to be resting, but I have things I have to do myself." She looked at him, sighing. She wished they could just spend all their time together again like before.
"I'll help you, then," Saelhil said. "You'll make sure I don't work too hard, and I'll help you get your work done."
Raeliel chuckled and smiled at him. "...that sounds like a great plan, Saelhil." She stood up. "You go ahead and eat. I'm going to make sure Talainna isn't torturing poor Valenthion." Ah, yes. Valenthion, the boy she wanted to adopt. They still needed to talk about that.
"Mm." Saelhil chuckled and continued eating, awaiting her return.
Talainna and Valenthion were off in somewhere they wouldn't be in anyone's way, and Valenthion was just talking to Talainna.
"...yeah, I promise it was like that, exactly."
"Wow... That's so amazing...!" Talainna smiled, then glanced over at Raeliel as she approached. "Raeliel! You know Valenthion's name is Edmund?" she asked cheerfully. "He said that my name in human would be Terana."
"No, not Terana. That's too elvish. I said Theresa." Valenthion sighed.

Raeliel...didn't quite like him talking about human things. They were at war with the humans. But she knew it was so much of his upbringing that he probably couldn't help it. "Valenthion's name is Valenthion, Talainna. And I think Talainna is much prettier than Theresa, though it's very interesting to hear how names would sound in human." She walked over and sat down by the two of them. "How are you two getting along? She's not bothering you terribly, is she, Valenthion?"
"We're getting along swimmingly." Talainna smiled.
Valenthion leaned back against the wall. "She's alright, I suppose," he said simply. Ah yes, typical human boy trying to act too mature for someone else his age.

(Bedtime for me. Night! I will post before classes tomorrow!)
Raeliel chuckled. "Well, two different perspectives, but I think they mean the same thing. Well, I'm glad you two are getting along okay." She stood up. "You two can keep chatting, then. I just wanted to check in." She went back to Saelhil and sat down beside him. "Valenthion and Talainna seem to be getting along okay. He doesn't hate her, at least. It's good for him to be around someone his own age."

"Bye!" Talainna called cheerfully after Raeliel, then went back to talking with Valenthion.
Saelhil smiled at her news. "Good. I was a bit worried Talainna would scare him off." He paused. "Mm, I agree. He probably hasn't been around many elves his age... You know, I've been thinking. Do you think he was still treated like a child when he lived in the human village, or was he given an adult's responsibilities, because of his age?"

Raeliel thought over this. "...I'm more inclined to believe he was treated as a child. For one, he's blind. That makes it difficult in giving many responsibilities. For another, he looks like a child, and humans often and easily judge by appearance. Besides, he's not in any physical condition to do a lot of things that human men at that age would do. Most become farmers or warriors or laborers, and if not those then a merchant. He can't be any of them, because of his size and blindness."
Saelhil nodded. "Yes, probably." Saelhil reached over and grabbed her hand. "I hope he will adjust quickly to living here," he said quietly. "He must have been more comfortable in his own town... He'll have trouble just getting around the village for a while until he learns the layout."
Raeliel listened to him and held his hand gently. "I know. It will take time, it will be hard especially with the war." She looked at Saelhil. "I want to adopt him, Saelhil. I really do. He needs someone." She watched him, waiting for his reaction.
Saelhil was quiet for a bit, watching her. "...I know. Will he stay, though, after the war? He seems so determined to leave; he might run away... I think that we should wait a bit, get him to trust us better before we do anything." He paused. "...it wouldn't be legal, though, would it? If his father wanted, he could come and just take him away."
