"Everything is going fine. Talainna's teaching Valnethion how to play the harp." Saelhil smiled a bit, then offered her th soup. "Can you eat by yourself? I don't want you dropping it; it's hot."

Raeliel reached, but pain flashed through her and she put her hand down. "Not yet..." She sighed. It was so frustrating. But...well, broken ribs made ANY movement hurt, it seemed, except for her legs. "The harp...? That's nice.." She smiled a little bit, then looked at him. "Can...you help?" She couldn't eat on her own.

"Mm." Saelhil scooted a bit closer, then began to feed her carefully. "It should be good... Some of the other women made it." He chuckled softly, smiling at her. He admired her so much, risking her life for the sacred place... She was so brave; he was proud to be her husband.

Raeliel smiled softly. "It tastes great." She quieted and ate, and when she was finished she closed her eyes. "Thanks.." she smiled softly. (Nvrmind teacher not starting as soon as i thought he would.)

Saelhil set the bowl aside and kissed her cheek. "Do you need anything? I could get some pain medicine to help you sleep," he offered, brushing some hair behind her ear.

Raeliel sighed. "I'm tired...of sleeping. I just...want to talk." She looked at him. She was doing better at talking at least. "I...want you to be by...my side." She glanced away. "...I have...bad luck with...near death experiences." She didn't like it at all. She told him everything would be okay, but she had been scared. To see Saelhil like that told her things she didn't want to know; she would die. So to have almost died again, for the second time...not so fun.

Saelhil reached over and took her hand. "I'm starting to think that I bring you bad luck... I don't know how you put up with me." He smiled gently, trying to lift her spirits. He had nearly lost her, twice, but surely it wouldn't be a normal occurrence.

Raeliel gave a soft, weak chuckle. "Bad luck? Sael...you're the best thing....that's ever happened to me." She smiled gently at him. "I'm beyond lucky...just to have you." She held his hand, happy to be able to just do that. To just hold his hand.

"I'm the lucky one, Rae." Saelhil lifted her hand to kiss it gently. "I'm just a simple elf lucky enough to be married to a princess." He held her hand in both of his, barely resisting the urge to give her a deep, passionate kiss. He was so happy she was alive and somehow in good spirits.

Raeliel gave another little chuckle. "Princess. Feh. I'd never be...considered a princess...in my own home." Not anymore, not with how much she'd changed. "But...as long as I'm...a princess in your...eyes, then that...is good enough."

Saelhil smiled a bit. "I'm glad you think so, because I'm little more than a stable boy in your old home. We would be forever separated there." He squeezed her hand.

Raeliel smirked slightly. "No...not forever. We'd...sneak around, all scandalous...kissing behind the bushes...hiding where no one could...catch us." She smiled at him. "But...I like this...better." She closed her eyes. "Though maybe...not this particular..bit."

Saelhil chuckled. "The rebellious princess having an affair with the stable boy... I can just see it now, the rumors spreading all over town." He smiled. "This bit won't last forever. You'll be better in absolutely no time, I'm sure."

(I actually have written the very beginnings of a story like that. )

Raeliel smiled softly and opened her eyes to look at him. "Yeah. Saelhil, I love you..." She took in a soft breath. "I want this war to....be done. I want it...over. Do you think...we stand...a chance?"

{Oh gosh xD That makes me think of so many possible AUs... I'm obsessed with alternate plot lines xD}

"I definitely think we do. Those humans are the ones who don't stand a chance." Saelhil smiled at her. "If it isn't over soon, I'll personally go and make sure to give those filthy humans a good thrashing and send them home."

(...me too. GAHWAHGAH such temptation)

Raeliel smiled. "...good. Beat them good, Sael...teach them a lesson." She sighed softly and moved a bit, probably needing his help, so that she was laying down fully again. "...can you bring Valenthion in?... I want to...see how he's doing."

Saelhil chuckled. He aided her in laying down. "Mm. I'll be right back." He leaned down to kiss her softly before pulling away to go find the boy.

He returned a few minutes later, Valenthion walking behind him, tapping around with his staff. Saelhil stopped the boy before he hit the bed. "Here he is, Rae." Valenthion was rather quiet, gripping his staff tightly.

(That'd be fine with me~ Wouldn't get responded to as much as our current because of the chat feature, so that would also help us in not completely abandoning the main! YOUSTART)

Raeliel smiled softly as she opened her eyes to see Valenthion. "Hey, how are.. you doing?" She reached out and put her hand on Valenthion's. "Talainna isn't...bugging you too much...right?" She spoke gently, even though she spoke weakly. She always had a gentle, caring tone with Valenthion. Unless Saelhil had told him, the boy probably didn't even know that her last words were for Sael to take care of him.

{What?! xD Are we doing it where Sael is a stable boy? I thought about them sort of switching places, but I would have no idea how to keep his personality if he grew up in a snooty place. Or maybe Sael having to go to Raeliel's village, instead of her coming to his? But the stable boy is good, too... Gosh, so many options! Which do you want? xDDD}

"M'fine," Valnthion said, gulping quietly. He felt rather warm, as if he was sick, but he looked fine. Perhaps he was just used to cooler climates... "Are you okay? Saelhil told me that you fought off humans... I'm-I'm sorry you got so hurt." His grip tightened so that his knuckles turned white, and he glanced away from her unsurely.
