Raeliel saw Valenthion and hurried over to him. "Valenthion? What's wrong, are you okay? Do you feel sick?" She was immediately worried, trying to feel his forehead and check to see if he was alright.
{I fixed my iPad yeah xD}
Valenthion glanced up at her. "I'm fine..." He looked significantly less happy though, so obviously something was wrong.

(Yay!)
Raeliel sat down beside him. "What's wrong? You're not at all like you were a few minutes ago." She looked over at Saelhil. Had he heard the things that the elders had said about him? "Valenthion, it's okay. You're a wonderful, brave, smart boy. And you're going to be our son, nothing anyone says is going to change that, ever. You're our son."

"I don't want to bring you trouble..." Valenthion looked away. Saelhil sighed and went on the other side of the boy, pulling him into a hug.
"You will never be trouble for us," he promised. "They're just making trouble for themselves. Don't feel bad about something you can't control."

Raeliel pulled them both into a hug as well. "Valenthion, I'd rather go through all the trouble in the world for you than lose you. So don't you worry about it, okay?" She kissed his head gently. "They're just being old crotchety folk. They'll come around eventually, don't worry. And if they don't, they die sooner than the rest of us anyone." She smirked a bit.
Saelhil glanced at her with a "I-can't-believe-you-just-said-that" smile. He ruffled Valenthion's hair with a smile.
Valenthion closed his eyes for a moment, feeling the warmth of their arms around him. A weak smile glanced over his lips. "Promise?"
"Mm. We promise." Saelhil chuckled softly.

Raeliel grinned back at him, then looked down at Valenthion. "Absolutely promise." She smiled at Saelhil. She was so glad that they were fighting for their son. It showed him how much they really did love him.
Saelhil tugged on Valenthion's ear playfully. "How about you go play for a bit?" he suggested. "I think Talainna and the others went into one of the other houses to play."
Valenthion glanced up at them, and nodded slightly. He smiled and kind of hugged them, then stood. "Thank you," he said quietly, dipping his head slightly before going off to find the other kids.

Raeliel smiled. "Alright. Have fun, you." She kissed his head and let him go, then looked at Saelhil. "Well...I guess we handled that pretty well, what do you think?" She smiled at him.
"I think so..." Saelhil reached over to pull Raeliel close, nuzzling her forehead. "I will definitely be speaking to my father about those men, though. My father will understand, especially since we want to adopt Valenthion."
Raeliel smiled softly. "You really think so? I don't know your father too well...I can't figure out whether he'd be okay with all of this or not. But if you say he'll understand, then I'm glad. That will fix everything."
"He usually understands most things, if I explain it well enough," Saelhil said. "If he doesn't, then I don't know what we will do. Maybe move to a different village, if we must, though I would hate to leave here."
Raeliel nodded. "If he doesn't understand, we can use Talainna for an example. He wouldn't allow her to be tossed out to wander all by herself for the rest of her life." She held Saelhil close.
"Mm." Saelhil nodded in agreement, now nuzzling Raeliel's forehead.
Raeliel was glad that Saelhil was alright with this. With adopting Valenthion. She smiled softly. "You are amazing, you know that?" (Work today and other stuff wont be posting much)
Saelhil chuckled at her. "Amazing? I'm only doing what's right." He kissed her forehead. "But thank you in any case."
{Okie!}
{Okie!}
Raeliel smiled at him. "Yes. Amazing. No matter what you say." She kissed his cheek then stood up, going outside to check on things there.
Saelhil smiled and stood. He went off to do his own duties. All was calm outside, with no news from the look-outs. It had been a while since any news... Had the war ended? If so, where were the rest of the warriors, returning home?
Raeliel didn't like the lack of news. She sent out a scout, to find out what news there was of the war. She was worried. Very worried.
It was a few hours before the scout returned, looking very discombobulated and disheveled. He sort of just burst in, while everyone was sitting down for dinner. The room went rather quiet.
"They're gone," he panted, obviously having exerted himself. "Gone."
"Who?" Saelhil asked, slowly standing. "The humans?"
The scout shook his head, catching his breath in heavy gasps. "Everyone... Gone! The-The humans' camps are completely... completely vanished! But..." Here he gulped to dry and wet his dry throat, and he pointed to the door. "I couldn't find anyone from our village! All the elves... disappeared!"
"Father." Saelhil quickly looked at Raeliel, then at everyone else. "We go searching immediately," he said firmly, quickly taking charge, as a chieftain would. "We need quick feet. Get your bows." As a few people rose to go get their weapons, a few stayed behind to look after the children and the wounded. Saelhil looked at Raeliel, taking a breath. "Will you stay or go?"
