Arthur let the two of them talk, then smiled slightly at Belle. "Go ahead." he murmured if she seemed hesitant. "I'll be fine, don't worry about me. Go spend some time with your mother." Raeliel gestured for her daughter to follow her, and Arthur watched as they left. When they were gone, he sighed tiredly and closed his eyes.
After a long while of Arthur being alone, a knock came on the door. "Arthur, isn't it?" came a voice. It was Valenthion. He opened the door and entered the room, a small bag hung on his shoulder. "Awake, are we?" He came to crouch near Arthur, sitting and searching through his bag without looking inside.
Arthur sat up and rubbed his face a little as someone came in. He'd fallen asleep in the meantime. "Yes, I am now. I didn't even realize I'd dozed off." He sighed and leaned back against the wall. "So, you're her brother? She spoke of you." He glanced towards the window, then slowly got to his feet and walked over, leaning against it and staring outside. "How come you're in here and not with her?"
"I'm here to tend to you," Valenthion said simply. "Yes, I'm her brother. My name is Valenthion, by the way. Or just Valen, if you prefer. Sometimes elf names can get tedious, mm? Come here, please." Valenthion gestured to a nearby chair. He was now holding a tall blue glass vial with some sort of liquid in it.
Arthur went over to the chair, carefully, painfully sitting down. It took them long enough to send help for him. He felt weak and light-headed, which was why he'd been resting. "Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm Arthur. Valen is certainly a bit easier than Valenthion, I must admit. Elf names are more complicated than tedious, honestly. They're unusual." He quieted down to let the man tend to him.
(My posting is gonna slow, and then stop in a bit. Gonna be gone for a few hours with my student ministry, but I'll be back in about...three, three and a half hours. I'll post any time I can during then, but I might not have the opportunity )

{No worries! C:}
Valen nodded quietly, taking off the bandages Belle had put on him. Carefully, he poured some liquid into his hand before massaging it into Arthur's wounds. It would burn for just a moment, before turning freezing. "So where are you from?" he asked. "I'm sure one of the western cities... Your accent is very clear. I was born in an eastern port town, myself."

(Posting since I ate fast lol)
Arthur took in a deep breath, closing his eyes tightly as he felt the burn and freeze. "Yes, the city just south of here. You're from a port town?" He opened his eyes to watch the man.

"Mmhm." Valen nodded, continuing to clean the wounds one by one. "I went to a big city once... With my birth father and human brothers. A bunch of snooty rich folks there... I'm guessing since you bought my sister you're pretty wealthy, huh?"
Arthur sighed slightly. He just couldn't escape any kind of prejudice. "Yes. I am. I have my own business. My father wanted me to be a general. I did not want to slaughter other beings." He glanced at Valen. "It's nice to have her back, isn't it? I'm an only child, so I can't quite understand..."
"Ah, how noble, not wanting ot become a killer." While the comment could have sounded sarcastic, Valen laughed lightly, and his tone was playful. And when he asked about Belle, Valen smiled and nodded. "Mm... I'm very glad to have her back. She's beautiful, isn't she?" He had finished applying the ointment, and was now rewrapping Arthur's wounds. For a blind guy, he was having little trouble doing that kind of thing.
Arthur nodded slightly. "Yes. She's very beautiful. That's why I bought her. She had weak lungs, so that put her at a risk for not being sold. But her beauty was something that men could easily look over something like that for. I noticed how some of the men looked at her." His face twisted in a disapproving grimace. "I wasn't going to let an innocent person fall into the hands of men like that just because they're different." He glanced at Valenthion. "...you've been blind for a long time, haven't you? I'm sorry, I don't mean the question to be rude. But you don't seem like you have any trouble with doing things. You must be used to it."
"Mm... I guessed so." Valenthion nodded with a small smile after hearing his sister was so beautiful. Then came the question about his being blind. "I have. I was... Fourty or so, when I became blind. My birth father left me because of it." He scoffed sligtly. "But if I hadn't become blind, I might have never come to be adopted by my parents, so I'm glad for it... It also helps that over the years I've grown to see, well, auras. Dad swore I'm half mage." He chuckled. "But uh, people and things are now colors and vague shapes. It's strange, but oddly helpful. You're a pale blue, by the way. Sort of like a winter sky." He smiled slightly at Arthur and stepped back, now done with wrapping him up.
Arthur stared at him. He could see auras? A pale blue... Arthur went quiet, considering this. Why was he a pale blue? There was a lot that might contribute it. "...thank you." he said, looking at his bandages. "...Maybe I was simply being foolish, but I didn't expect such a violent reaction from the elves..." To him, they had just become his father. They were no different than the humans, Belle was right. Arthur sighed softly and rubbed his face. "...is there a chance I'll be getting food soon, perhaps? I think all that blood loss has made me hungry."
"You're young; you couldn't have known how bitter the elves have gotten towards humans. Heck, sometimes it's even difficult for me to travel outside our village, simply because I've got human blood in me." Valenthion shrugged. "Don't let it get to you. It really isn't personal." When he asked of food, he nodded. "If you think you can walk, I can take you out to the dining room and get some food prepared for you."
Arthur listened to him. "...they really have gotten bitter." He sighed and got to his feet carefully, having to lean against the wall from the dizziness that overtook him. "Are you sure it's safe for me to go out there? I'd hate to take one step outside and have them undo all your hard work..." He was definitely hesitant about going out amongst the elves.
"Don't worry, we'll be staying in the house." Valenthion offered a calm smile, and motioned to the door. "Come on." He led Arthur out and down the hall. It was a small house, a bit old, but suitable to live in. The dining room had a low table, with a few cushions spread around it. "Here we are. Take a seat; I'll see about some nourishment."
Arthur followed along, a hand on the wall at all times, as much as he was able, as he walked. He was pretty dizzy and faint. He'd lost a lot of blood, after all. He sat down at the table, settling himself on one of the cushions. Interesting. "Thanks." He was tempted to just lay down on the cushions and sleep, but his rumbling stomach kept him from doing so.
After a minute or two, Belle darted inside the room, shutting the door behind her. She smiled at Arthur. "Hello. Glad to see you up." She held a bowl of fruit in one hand, while her free one quietly slid the lock into paced behind her. She took a breath and came to set down the bowl. "I know fruit usually doesn't fill someone up, but these are different. They taste delicious, as well." Despite her smile, she kept glancing back at the door.
Arthur blinked when she suddenly came in. "...hello." He looked at her and the door, then reached for a fruit. "Why did you lock the door, Belle?" he asked calmly. It was more of his business voice, but he couldn't help it. He usually used that voice when he wanted no-nonsense answers. She was obviously escaping something, or someone. But he wanted to know. If anyone was threatening her, well...injuries or not, Arthur was going to take action. He bit into one of the fruits and smiled. "...they're wonderful. I've never had fruit so delicious before."
Belle sat on her knees near him. She cleared her throat. "I...offered to bring you food, and...my father got angry." She smiled nervously. "He said I shouldn't be serving you anymore. I'm hoping he won't follow me, but I wanted to come see how you're doing."
